Head of Human Resources About the Community Climate Council:
We are a passionate and dedicated team of volunteers who are unable to sit idle as we live through the climate crisis and strive to catalyze climate action at the local level through climate literacy and political advocacy. About this Role:
The Head of Human Resources works closely with management to develop and implement strategies aligned with the overall Council’s strategic plan in the following areas: succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational performance management, and training and development. Time Commitment: 5-10 hours weekly, intermittent Duties:
Augustus Sullivan
Develops and leads the execution of tasks that support the Head of Operations accomplishment of department goals, objectives, and systems. Work closely with management to develop and communicate Human Resources and council-wide policies and procedures Develop training opportunities for the organization with a focus on mental health, leadership, and Indigenous sovereignty Develop and direct the implementation of policies and procedures that ensure compliance with health and safety and other statutory regulations. Directs the preparation and maintenance of reports as necessary to carry out the functions of the department. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishments.

Research and identify training opportunities for volunteers/members. Conduct check-in meetings with volunteers/members. Responsible for overseeing and managing a team of up to 4 HR Coordinators. Responsible for overseeing a social committee that works towards promoting a high level of morale and motivation. Develops strategies towards cultivating strong rapport with volunteers/members. Conducts investigations when concerns/complaints are raised by volunteers/members. Reviews, guides, and approves management recommendations for disciplinary action and termination. Reviews appeals. Qualifications:
Coachable, accountable, and reliable to complete tasks in a timely manner. Proven excellent written communication skills required. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Augustus Sullivan Stong and leadership skills. Headsupervisory of Operations Experience with non-profits is an asset. Familiarity using Slack is an asset, but not required. Knowledge about local climate issues and climate action. Interested?
