PARTNERSHIP SPECIALIST The Community Climate Council is seeking one (1) Partnership Specialists. Role Description: The Community Climate Council is seeking a Partnership Specialist to focus on community engagement and support the development of an integrated partnership program for the Region of Peel. The Partnership Specialist will also assist in developing and delivering new initiatives to support the mission of the council and will report to the Partnership Lead.
Term: 1 year, open to renewal Time Commitment: 5-10 hours/week
Responsibilities:
Developing new and maintaining existing relationships on behalf of the CCC with community organizations, local businesses, and other environmental advocates
Act as a professional representative for the CCC while working closely with volunteers, media, businesses and stakeholders
Working closely with the Events Team to deliver and organize activities related to park adoption such as park clean up, stewardship etc.
Researching other environmental and non-environmental groups and providing a recommendation for collaboration
Developing research briefs of new activities and initiatives to strengthen partnerships at the CCC
Data collection from community partners and management including data entry, organization and analysis
Help to develop partnerships that meet the diverse needs of local communities by working alongside volunteers, external partners, and stakeholders
Coordinate regular email, written and telephone communication with volunteers, program participants and program partners
Support the Community Outreach Lead
Qualifications:
A passion for combating climate change, climate literacy/or related environmental issues
Knowledgeable about local climate issues and climate action
Strong belief in creating social change by empowering individuals and families to live more sustainable lives
Energetic individual with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Highly observant with attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills (written & verbal)
Stellar email etiquette
Good organizational skills, a responsible and creative approach to tasks and problem solving
Familiarity with the environmental sector and programming in the Region of Peel
Access to a personal computer for remote work

FUNDRAISING SPECIALIST The Community Climate Council is seeking two (2) Fundraising Specialists. Role Description: Reporting to the Treasurer, Fundraising Specialists will play a vital role in the council to transform climate project ideas into climate action for the community. They will develop financial resumes for the organization, implement and develop effective fundraising strategies, working closely with the Events Planner and Team Leads. They will actively search for and write grants to help meet The CCC’s obectives. Term: 1 year, open to renewal Time Commitment: 5-10 hours/week Responsibilities: Actively search for municipal, provincial and federal grant opportunities that can support The CCC objectives and enhance campaigns. Research and identify grant opportunities for The Community Climate Council based on operational costs and future project ideas Strategize fundraising plans, grant writing protocols and other organizational procedures in collaboration with the Treasurer Develop and submit tailored proposals and grant applications that resonate with potential funding partners and reflect our strategic priorities, mandate and goals Track and report progress of fundraising campaigns and grant applications to the Treasurer Maintain and frequently update a grant calendar and chart of grant applications: including grant opportunities, grants applied to, status of application, requirements and necessary attachments, and grant deadlines Proactively identifies prospects, building and maintaining a pipeline to grow donor partnerships Develop and maintain fundraising strategic plan that identifies fundraising campaigns dates and strategies and donor-tracking plans in order to provide a clear course of action from diversified funding streams Support the implementation of fundraising plans, evaluating and analyzing the activities during and after the implementation. Conduct industry and economic research to inform the fundraising and business strategy of the organization Develop compelling and persuasive fundraising communications, philanthropy and content to be used across multiple channels, platforms and donor programs Supports the finance team with the coordination and distribution of fundraising campaign components across multiple channels to secure approvals within predetermined critical path timelines Create and maintain grant template for council members applying for their own grants Qualifications: Accountable and reliable to complete tasks in a timely manner Proven excellent written communication and persuasion skills required
Professional email communication skills required Experience with fundraising and communications within a non-profit an asset
Ability to work both independently with minimal direction/supervision and collaboratively within a team environment Detail-oriented, adaptable, organized and demonstrated ability to successfully coordinate multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities Skilled storyteller with editing skills and experience speaking to different types of donor audiences Ability to manage rejection and overcome common proposal objections

EVENTS COORDINATOR The Community Climate Council is seeking one (1) Events Coordinator. Role Description: The CCC is seeking an Events Coordinator to support the development of an events and engagement strategy in alignment with CCC’s mission and values. As part of the Community Outreach team, the Events Coordinator will report to the Events Planner. Responsibilities:
Keep track of budget and expectations with Events Planner & Head of Community Outreach
Liase with the Finance Team to fulfill funding requirements Research unique and innovate strategies for online event engagement
Coordinate with members of the Council to recruit volunteers, Maintain a collaborative approach by collecting insight and recommendations
Oversee the execution phase of the event to ensure it runs smoothly Process all invoices to make sure vendors/speakers are paid promptly
Creating workback schedules and project plans for events Researching and gaining understanding of the requirements of each event
Ongoing communication with event partners, vendors and volunteers Staying within budgets and creating accurate financial reports
Effectively collecting metrics and evaluating event success
Qualifications:
Degree in (or degree in progress) hospitality or public relations is an asset Proven experience in a similar role within the not-for-profit sector
Experience with planning engaging youth events is an asset Understanding of, and experience with, running green events
Attention to detail and ability to anticipate issues and solutions Email etiquette with strong communication skills
Experience with networking and volunteer management Existing relationships with vendors in Peel is a strong plus
Negotiation and time management skills Friendly and courteous disposition

POLICY SPECIALIST The Community Climate Council is seeking one (1) Policy Specialists. Role Description: The Community Climate Council is seeking1 Policy Specialists who will report to the Research & Education Team Lead. They will conduct thorough research into local policy in the Peel and Ontario context related to the environment and climate change, focusing on the Climate Change Master Plan developed by ROP. Our vision at The CCC is to take an intergenerational approach to increase Climate Literacy in the Peel Region. This role will play a key factor in enabling this goal to become a reality. Term: 1 year, open to renewal Time Commitment: 5-10 hours/week
Responsibilities: • Connect with a regional relations strategy lead for potential opportunities to delegate at Council with policy based/grounded information
• Possibility to bring important research to the HR team for council trainings, webinars, campaigns, etc. • Summarize complex policy to make it more accessible for residents and council members. • Contribute to a running Excel document to track policies and progress • Research and organize information on active policies in Peel and Ontario • Conducting quantitative or qualitative research, analyzing data, writing reports, and presenting findings • Work independently and with supervision • Monitor Councilor and government activities and seek out new opportunities • Report to a supervisor on a consistent and timely basis • Find avenues for youth to have a voice on informing policy. Find future delegation opportunities create action items for us to bring to Councilors based on gaps or strengths in policy • Extrapolate relevant data and policy to comprehensive terms for Sci-Comm specialists
Qualifications: • Up-to-date knowledge of Peel and Ontario climate policies and programs • A keen eye for future research opportunities • Proven track record of developing high-impact research and initiatives • Strong initiative, good judgment, tactfulness, and political awareness • Ability to summarize policies and to report on any progress and changes • Excellent verbal and written and technical communication skills • Strong organizational skills and knowledge to prioritize and work with little supervision • Able to work effectively within firm deadlines
