Invitation To Celebrate Jamaica 50 & the 2012 Olympics The Voice Touring Photographic Exhibitions Launching Wednesday 20th June
Jamaica 50 & The Olympics The Voice would like to invite you to participate as a sponsor for our touring photographic exhibitions designed to mark 2012. The exhibition opens at the Jamaica High Commission on 20 June 2012, and will run from 21 June until the end of the year at various locations in the Midlands and London.
Jamaica 50 & The Olympics GVMEDIA limited are the publishers of the Gleaner UK, the Voice newspaper, the award winning Young Voices magazine and www.voiceonline.co.uk will be celebrating Jamaica’s 50th Year of Independence and the success of our Olympians over the period with two major photographic exhibitions.
Journey Of Champions London will be the starting point of the Collection’s. The first exhibit to be showcased is “Journey of Champions: 50 Years of Jamaican Athletic Excellence” in 2012.
This large scale six piece (6ft x 3ft) installation is an archival exhibition spanning 50 years of athletic excellence in Jamaica. It will be touring the United Kingdom from June to November 2012. It captures Jamaica’s pre and post Independence athletic involvement and successes.
Journey Of Champions The exhibition which draws on THE GLEANER’S expansive collection of photographs and clippings will be launched at the Jamaica High Commission in London on 20 June 2012. It will then be hosted at various locations in the Midlands and London area. Without a doubt this exhibition showcases Jamaica’s enviable record of athletic success since Independence and is a great way to mark this Olympic year.
Jamaica 50 Our second exhibit features classic Royal, Celebrity and Olympian moments from the archives of the Jamaica Gleaner and the Voice newspapers. It showcases Jamaica’s relationship with the United Kingdom’s Royal Family, paying particular attention to visits by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in this the year of her Diamond Jubilee. The exhibition will feature images from Jamaica’s past that many generations resident in the United Kingdom will never have seen.
Jamaica 50: The Tour Journey of Champions Exhibit with DVD (six 6x3ft panel installation) Private Viewing 20 June: Jamaica High Commission, London. 21 – 29 June: Members of the public will be able to view the exhibit at the Jamaica High Commission. 16 – 25 July: Birmingham Square & Birmingham Says Farewell And Good Luck To Team Jamaica 25 July: Jamaica 50 Celebrations, Symphony Hall, Birmingham. 2 – 12 August: Jamaica Village – O2, London. October – November: Handsworth Library, Birmingham. Bernie Grant Centre Tottenham. In discussion with Haringey & Walthamstow.
Jamaica 50: The Tour The Independence Exhibit with DVD (40 bespoke framed images) 14 July: The exhibit will be a key feature at the launch experience of the historic Hampstead Town Hall. It is part of the Africa Seen and Heard initiative. 27 July – 2 Sept 2012: Members of the public will be able to view the exhibit at the Hackney Picture House. The exhibit will coincide with the Jamaica Film Festival. Private Viewing 2 August: Hackney Picture House, London. 30 July – 13 August: Brixton Library, the exhibit will be on display during Brixton Splash. August – September: The exhibition will be touring Lambeth. Including the soon to be opened Mary Seacole Library in Clapham.

Approximate footfall throughout the duration of the exhibition 300, 000 persons. Sponsorship required for the 6 months period is £9,000x 6 month = £54,000+ vat. The sponsor will have the benefit of exposure via both our newspaper and online platforms to the value of £20,000.
