EASY TIPS TO KICK UP YOUR METABOLISM AND GET YOUR BODY SWIM-SUIT READY

The New Year has come and gone and in many cases, so has your enthusiasm for your New Year’s resolution to eat healthier and exercise more often. If you’re like most of us, you let the past few months get away from you and you are now left with only a few weeks until summer. However, it’s not too late to kick up your metabolism and get your body swim-suit ready. Below, we’ve outlined a few simple tips to help you “Kick It Up a Notch” and take advantage of these last few weeks before summer.

HERE’S A FACT YOU SHOULD KNOW: Research shows that 50% of people starting a new exercise plan, quit within six months because they don’t see results right away.

“KICK IT UP” WITH CARDIO WORKOUTS •

I f you find that your heart rate is not elevating as much after working out, change up your activity to push yourself in different ways. For example if you typically run/walk 3 miles a day, go a little farther each time. Just a few extra steps each time adds up to a lot more by the end of the week.hard enough.

TIP: Do something you enjoy to help you stick with it. For example, play with your kids or walk your dog. Cardio exercise consists of anything that elevates your heart rate, so make it fun.


“KICK IT UP” WITH RESISTANCE TRAINING •

I ncorporating resistance training equipment like kettle bells, bar bells, TRX bands, and medicine balls can help you tone your muscles and tighten up your core for faster results and increased performance. As with cardio, change up your intensity to push yourself further each time.

TIP: Don’t measure success only by what the scale says. Many times the weight on the scale might not be going down, but you may be looking slimmer and more toned from strengthening your muscles. So don’t get discouraged if you’re not seeing the pounds drop off right away.

“KICK IT UP” WITH METABOLISM-BOOSTING FOODS & SUPPLEMENTS •
