Dear Friends At Talma, another quarter of the year has gone by, and it has been filled with important events. Through a large investment for the benefit of our clients and users, we have doubled our warehouse capacity in Mexico and we have acquired 06 new two-generator X-ray scanners for our warehouses of Lima Cargo City. On the other hand, continuing with the Institutional Visits Program for High Level Authorities of the sector, we received important visits where we showcased our services and also the opportunities and challenges of the industry. In addition, we are pleased to announce that this 7th edition includes news about Talma and other articles of interest in this period. Finally, you will get updated statistical information on the sector, the evolution of foreign trade, and information on air imports and exports for this period. Scanners will increase capacity to detect illegal merchandise
New two-generator X-Ray Baggage Inspection Equipment arrive at Talma
Tunnel dimensions 101.6 x 101.6 cm (40 ”x 40”) dual 180kV sources.
As part of the Improvement Program for the X-Ray Inspection and Cargo Control System, our company has acquired six new two-generator X-ray scanners, certified and listed in line with the requirements of the Transportation Security Administration - TSA. With an investment of 1 million two hundred thousand dollars, this new equipment will increase the detection capacity of illegal merchandise such as explosives, hidden or undeclared dangerous goods, counterfeits, wildlife smuggling, cargo that does not match their export description, and other issues that may jeopardize Civil Aviation, in compliance with legal provisions in force as provided by DGAC Peru and international provisions such as the TSA, which state that, as of 31 December 2020, any cargo entering its territory shall be scanned with these machines.
Tunnel dimensions 180.3 cm x 180.5 cm (71” x 71.1”) dual 200 kV sources.
Real-time display This acquisition entails a new supervision component for our operations: the implementation of new monitors in our Closed-Circuit Television - CCTV. This technological improvement for the benefit of our clients and users, permitting real-time transmission and display of the images of this modern equipment from our CCTV.
In addition to accelerating the cargo analysis process, these scanners will facilitate the detection of all types of prohibited merchandise, of organic and inorganic nature. In this way, we renew our commitment to continue providing world-class airport services, permanently improving our processes, incorporating new technology, infrastructure and certifications to deliver excellence of service.

Present at Expoalimentaria Trade Show for the third consecutive year

Talma staff at the Expoalimentaria Trade Show 2018
The Expoalimentaria Trade Show is organized by the Peruvian Association of Exporters - ADEX, and it is one of the main international business platforms for the sectors of food and beverages, international, machinery, services and packaging.
For the third year in a row, Talma was there to showcase its services and the training courses it offers targeting the commercial aviation sector of Peru and Latin America, through its Talma Training School.
This year, the trade show celebrated its 10th anniversary and brought together about 50 thousand visitors who had the opportunity to meet and interact for three days with more than 560 exhibitors from 26 countries around the world.
In this edition, the trade show closed with sales worth up to US$ 850 million and it consolidated its position as the largest event in the food and beverage industry in Latin America, according to the Peruvian Association of Exporters.

Talma's Institutional Visits Program continues
Important Official and Academic Visits
Visit by the Vice Minister of Transport to Lima Cargo City
As part of the Institutional Visits Program for High Level Authorities of the sector, this quarter we had the visit of the Vice Minister of Transport, Carlos Estremadoyro, as well as the President of OSITRAN, Verรณnica Zambrano. We also received the visit of a group of cocoa exporters from the regions of Cusco and Madre de Dios, as well as students from the Business University of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota.
Visit by the Vice Minister of Transport Carlos Estremadoyro Mory, Vice Minister of Transport, visited our Lima Cargo City facilities together with a group of officials from the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The tour was led by Oswaldo Sandoval, President of the Board of Directors of Talma together with Arturo Cassinelli, General Manager of the company. This visit was intended to showcase the services we offer for the sector, as well as the opportunities and challenges of the industry.

Visit by the President of OSITRAN We received the visit of the President of the Board of OSITRAN, Veronica Zambrano Copello, together with a group of officials of this supervisory agency who spoke with our senior Business Managers about the processes and advances of the company and the problems of the current configuration of the Jorge Chavez International Airport.

Visit by Cacao Exporters from Cusco and Madre de Dios Within the framework of the “Integral logistics mission for agribusiness companies of the Cusco Region, Fine-flavored Cacao, for export purposes�, we received the visit of more than 20 cacao exporters, representatives from Cusco and Madre de Dios. Our visitors had the opportunity to learn about the processes and services that Talma offers in support of foreign trade.
Visit by COLPERU students We received the visit of a group of students from the International Business, Foreign Trade, Business Administration and Public Accounting programs of the Business University of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota in Colombia - UNIEMPRESARIAL, as well as teachers and officials from the Colombo-Peruvian Chamber of Commerce and Integration. This group of more than 20 people had the opportunity to learn about the operational processes, both for imports and exports, taking place in our Lima Cargo City warehouses.

Talma, Aeropuertos del Peru and Dinet join in for important donation
Donations to San Miguel School As part of the Súmate (“Join In”) Social Responsibility program, the companies of the Sandoval Group collaborated with the donation of more than 15 household appliances for an event held in the occasion of the anniversary of Colegio San Miguel. These items were used for a fundraising raffle to benefit students who are about to complete their secondary education in that institution.

Talma collaborated with the Peruvian Cancer Foundation's Fundraising Drive
In the framework of World Cleanup Day, Talma employees participated in a day at Carpayo Beach located in La Punta, Callao. Thanks to its valuable contribution, it was possible to collect more than 130 kg of waste such as plastic containers, plastic bags, etc. This event took place at the same time in 158 countries around the world, with the participation of approximately 17 million people. This civic action is the largest that is done against the waste that affect and pollute the planet.
For this 2018, the Peruvian Cancer Foundation (FPC), through the campaign Dupliquemos el corazón (“Let's double our hearts”), invited several companies to actively participate in the nation-wide Ponle Corazón (“Put Your Heart Into It”) annual fundraising drive. Talma was there with an important contribution in an effort to secure the success of the fundraiser, which was able to raise over 1.8 million PEN. The amount raised will be used to support low-income cancer patients in our country.

Arturo Cassinelli, Speaker at the COMEX Peru Seminar
COMEX Infrastructure Seminar Last September, the Peruvian Society of Foreign Trade COMEX Peru, held the Infrastructure and Investment Seminar at the Los Delfines Hotel. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness about the new scheme of the recently renewed Agency for the Promotion of Private Investment, about the gaps in infrastructure in the different economic sectors of Peru, among other topics. Arturo Cassinelli, General Manager of Talma, participated as a speaker on the One-Stop Shop Model and its connection with the Jorge Chรกvez Airport, taking as an example Lima Cargo City, the most modern Air Logistics Center in Latin America. Talma Speaking at Quality Week The twenty-eighth Quality Week Congress was held at the beginning of the month of October, conducted by the Industrial Development Center - CDI of the National Society of Industries. The event, held at the Country Club Lima Hotel, brought together more than 50 national and foreign speakers, experts in management and quality assurance, who participated in the 40 conferences during the congress. Cesar Matos, Manager of the Integrated Management System of Talma, participated as a speaker with the topic "Certifiable management standards and their impact", providing testimony of the experiences and processes that the company faced to obtain certifications and the impact they brought about. THE OPERATION
Talma Mexico doubles its storage capacity
Expansion of Talma Mexico Warehouses
Collaborators of Talma Mexico in inauguration of new operational areas.
In order to continue providing the best service to our clients and users, our operations in Mexico have doubled their cargo storage capacity and tripled their operational areas. Located in the mezzanine of the Mexico City International Airport (AICDM) and representing an investment of over 1 million US dollars, this new infrastructure will have the capacity to house more than 290 tons of cargo distributed in the new 1,600 sq. meters of the warehouse.
Launch of new Cross Dock Last September, we started operating the new Cross Dock, located a few meters from the Customs Office of the AICDM. This is a specialized warehouse for the consolidation, storage, labeling, palletization, weighing and deconsolidation of international cargo, and it has an area of 850 sq. meters and 240 shelf positions. Thanks to this modern infrastructure, it will be possible to offer the services of cargo weight and dimension measuring as well as cargo reconditioning.
