FIRST GLIMPSES

You know a Cavalli dress when you see one – outlandish prints, audacious silhouettes and Barocco overindulgence. Made famous by celebrity style icons, from Jennifer Lopez to Kim Kardashian, the Italian couture house presents a new Fall/Winter 2021 collection that hits all the beats. It marks creative consultant Fausto Puglisi’s glorious debut, which he dubbed “Season Zero” as it reimagines the brand’s famed archives from the 2000s, translating into a modern approach to dressing in 2021.

RULE THE RUNWAY

When the house first revealed the collection, Puglisi stated that he did not aim to rewrite the brand’s rich history. Respecting the brand’s DNA, he only sought to marry the past with the present. Season Zero, therefore, features Cavalli’s classic codes with animal prints and double slits.

GIRL POWER

At a time when fashion industry heavyweights are turning to comfort and easy-to-wear pieces to suit today’s “work from home” lifestyle, Puglisi’s debut line signals the revival of statement-making fashion. With its bold, popping patterns, femininity is at the heart of the collection, which, with its feline essence, embodies a woman’s strength and determination. It conveys a sense of freedom, breaking away from all that is conventional, to establish one’s own identity.
