it all! What's the story behind this collection?

DAIR has launched its new ready-to-wear line called "DAIR ready to wear" (#DAIRrtw), which is a casual smart line with a couture touch in all clothing. I created this clothing line for men and women who love fashion, work hard, and also likes to enjoy life. With the "Ready To Wear" collection, I wanted to make people part of the design. I want people to experience the freedom to rock the clothing designs in a way that fits their personality the best. This is also a big reason why I made every item multifunctional and wearable. My clients are often telling me that they think I am a very lucky guy; who happens to be a fashion designer and that I am able to make any clothing I like to wear any time of the day.

© Red Silk Carpet May 2021

This all is absolutely true, and for this reason, I wanted people to have that same freedom as I experience. I have created clothing you can wear in everyday life. To stand out in different ways and being limitless with making your own rules. This collection is designed for you, me, him, and her principal. This RTW collection is not only beautiful, stylish, and cool, but this is also very suitable for many occasions. My goal is to create timeless pieces, which gives you a feeling of being your own SUPERSTAR, and appropriate for every season! What role do you think social media plays in fashion today?

Social media makes it possible to tell your story. Back then, fashion houses used to be a mystery. Now you get to see it all: the workspace and the designer. One

will get to know more about the brand and story. Social media also makes it possible for people who are not your friends, family, or network to see your work. Social media creates a platform. With the rise of social media, magazines are less important. With just one click, you can see it all. I started out before social media blew up, and the difference I see with my brand is that I can produce my content in my own way and direct how the world sees it. It's a lot of work, but on the other hand, it makes business more accessible. Get with us on social media and be part of my experience @DAIRdesign. #DAIRdesign. www.DAIRdesign.com How did you reach the showcase of a fashion designer?

Oksana Ponomareva "My Creations Are Connected With Painting" by Saif Rahman Sozib

Tell me a bit about your brand?

The ОK'SUNRISE brand was created for the trisomy 21 children and the people who back families with such children up. The outline frames of this brand are constructively adapted for the specific physiological markers of the adults and kids with trisomy 21. So that the clothes fit well and look tidy. The subjects of the brand are solar patterns and the figure of the sun, and sunny bright colors. It is fitting that the trisomy people are often called "sunny people." They are very positive and friendly. I like colors because my creations are connected with painting. I use

textile paintings, felt cloth, pastel, and watercolors. I mainly paint landscapes, flowers, and people sometimes. When my daughter, Polina with trisomy 21, was born in 2013, I turned to the special needs people. I began to think about her future. How she would live, what she would be fond of, what she would engage with, and how she would look like. It's very important that society would take people with such a diagnosis optimistically and accept their peculiarities. Such people like my daughter should have a productive life and their own selfactualization. That's why I hope my brand will help them look great! What's the story behind this collection? Who/ what inspired it?

The "Mosaic" collection was created with the financial and technical support of the Irkutsk region noncommercial association of the parents who had children with special needs "Raduga". © Red Silk Carpet May 2021

This association is for the same parents of the trisomy 21 children as I am. The idea of the "Mosaic" collection uses the irregular nonconstructive cutout garment and the mosaic cloth matching in patchwork technique. Mosaic resembles parts of the complicated nature of the trisomy 21 people. Their actions are often hard to understand for people with aneurotypical development. However, it doesn't mean that the special needs people are deprived of their beautiful inner nature. Just like us, they can show their view of life that differs from ours sometimes. "Mosaic" collection is an attempt to show the specific art and specific world that doesn't match the habitual and customary standards. The second peculiarity of all costumes of this collection is its multilayer design. Each costume has two to four things. Firstly, this multilayer approach is defined by our region – Siberia.

© Red Silk Carpet May 2021

It's cold most of the time. Secondly, the multilayer approach lets us combine things in different ways by creating different costume sets. For example, you can wear just a blouse and a petticoat. Or you can add a sarafan and take the petticoat away. I chose only natural clothes for the collection: cotton, flaxen linen, batiste, denim, and tapestry. These clothes combine nicely with each other. They have beautiful texture and a wide range of colors to embody designs. The collection has costumes for boys and girls, for teenagers, and for adults. Some models are braver and more creative and have a complicated design. The others are more commercial and simpler in tailoring. I tried to show the variety of designs for the main subject. What role do you think social media plays in fashion today?

Social media is of great importance for the

fashion industry. It allows people to reach a large audience and enable designers to change their art experience. It's very important for a modern designer not to create in isolation. But to define actual trends and work with projects that would be highly sought, easily sold, and would reflect the individual designer's style. The speed of information spreads is so high today. That social media is a real way for a prompt information exchange. The iPhone is an integral part of our everyday life. We receive information in it, order goods, food, listen to music, watch films on gadgets and so much more. On our phone screens, the fashion styles we see involuntarily dictate a particular lifestyle, rhythm, and flair. It broadens our view of the world significantly, making it thirddimensional and connects all world points with an invisible string. Z o o o n e k “A Perfect Mashup of Elegancea and Streetwear” By Saif Rahman Sozib

Tell me a bit about your brand?

Zooonek is a chic urban brand that incorporates elements of nature, animals, and safari adventures. It’s a perfect mashup of elegance and streetwear, offering the wild in every woman something very edgy. What’s the story behind this collection? What inspired it?

It’s inspired by Indiana Jones as he navigated the wilds of the world. My collection is the journey of finding a solution to a problem. Often, it seems that in the wild, two beasts cannot exist. But I know the clashing of any group can come together to create something beautiful. It’s similar to

the division of our countries and the political divide that exists. Indiana Jones clashes with safari is a collection that features western feels and jungle atmospheres.

What role do you think social media plays in fashion today? Social media largely influences this industry. There are so many channels that reach so many cities, states, countries. Its role in fashion is to be the easiest, most beneficial form of connection and allows entities to expand globally. Exposure is always in my reach and at my fingertips. M o n i c a Jo n e s featuring “NanaLola Couture” by Saif Rahman Sozib Tell me a bit about your brand?

Today, women face many challenges in this uncertain world, and Monica Jones of NanaLola Couture has made it her mission to remove some of their everyday stress. There is so much pressure for women and men to look like what they see on tv and social media. From photo filters, editing, and surgery, people across the globe suffer from their own self-image. The goal is to compete with fashion houses and show the world alike that we are all individual and beautiful in our own right despite your height, weight, size, shape, or race.

NanaLola Couture is hoping to change that by

not only designing Bespoke garments which cater to her client’s needs and wants, but she has also made it a point to include everyone in her brand presentation both in print and on the runway. She has shown fashion Runways like New York, San Francisco, London, Scotland, Paris, Amerstadam, and the International Digital Fashion Week by Fashion News Live. Showing that we are all individual and beautiful in our own right despite your height, weight, size, shape, or race. NanaLola Couture has worked hard to spark change in the fashion industry to showcase, embrace and empower all body types on the runway. Short, tall, thin, curvy male and female models strutted their stuff on the runway looking fabulous and setting the tone of acceptance and beauty. The photo campaigns are designed to showcase some of the Beautiful designs by Monica Jones of NanaLola couture. As seen in Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair, London Life

Magazines, and numerous others, she wants to highlight the different aspects of her collections. The collection is broken into four sections. The first is Eva Maine, a nod to classic designs from the golden age of movies and music, dedicated to her grandmother Eva Gary. Her style and ethos inspired Monica to work to change the concept of fashion in today’s modern age. Eva believed everyone is worthy of love and a sense of self. No one is better than the other, and she instilled that passion along with sewing into Monica. The second section is Menswear, NanaLola Black. It is designed for men who want to feel like they can stand out in a sea of the ordinance. For men who want a look, it not only says I’m unique but also screams one of a kind. The third section is for the plus-size woman.

© Red Silk Carpet May 2021

The Athena Collection is named after the Greek Goddess Athena. Athena is a Greek Goddess associated with wisdom, handicraft, and warfare. Since the Renaissance, Athena has become an international symbol of wisdom, the arts, and classical learning. Who better to represent the plus-size woman but a beautiful, strong goddess who can do it all! The fourth section is the Young Adult Couture Line #lilmonster which was created to encourage each individual’s own inner style and beauty. Monica believes that she would be just a lady with a beautiful dress without the team (the. Models, makeup artists, photographers, and venues). “Elevate Your Style, Elevate Your Life!” What’s the story behind this collection?

From your first date to your first dance, I want ladies to think of NanaLola Couture. I want them to know that I have something for

everyone, no matter size, identity, or gender, to feel beautiful in. Who/what inspired it?

Brides who didn’t fit the standard size ranges. Then I thought, everyone, should be able to wear something that reflects their uniqueness. To feel beautiful in their own skin. What role do you think social media plays in fashion today?

Social media puts undue stress on people. To look like and be acceptable. To not stand out, to not have joy in who you are. I believe that fashion is slowly changing to be more inclusive, showing more people who stand out, who are centered in themselves, who are more accepting of their flaws. Who are more themselves! Sirani's Fa s h i o n "Staying Tr u e t o African Fa s h i o n " by Saif Rahman Sozib Tell me a bit about your brand?

Based in Toronto, Canada, Sirani's Fashion was established in 2017 by Fatim Sylla. Fatim Sylla traces her love for African fashion back to her childhood when she used to vacation on the Ivory Coast. With the expansion of Africa globally, Fatim Sylla saw an opportunity to bring a part of her culture to Toronto by designing her own collection inspired by African prints and occidental designs. From then, Fatim Sylla started her journey collaborating with tailors in Africa and

Toronto to bring the 1st Sirani's Fashion collection to life. Sirani's Fashion's mission is to bring African fashion into every home in Canada and beyond. Sirani's Fashion core values are: Authenticity: Staying true to African fashion Versatility: Collection that offers diverse styling options for diverse styling needs Diversity: From casual to high fashion offerings What's the story behind this collection? Who/ what inspired it?

This collection is very different from what I did previously. I have used fabrics from my country that are very traditional African designs called bogolan (mud cloth). This has been very

popular in France lately, and I wanted to bring this to North America. The earthy tones resonate really well with my audience. I also love statement pieces, and I can say that every piece of my collection is statement pieces and jewelry pieces. What role do you think social media plays in fashion today?

I think it's by far the number one media channel for fashion nowadays. There is so much you can do to showcase your collection between the photos and the videos. It's probably the most efficient way to reach people at a reasonable cost. With more and more social media platforms becoming available such as Tik Tok, it will be hard to avoid social media.

Ta n o t i “ T h e Creations Which Arise From Our Handlooms” by Saif Rahman Sozib Tell me a bit about your brand?

At Tanoti, we focus on evolving the creations which arise from our handlooms. Our weavers are masters of complex traditional weaving techniques of Malaysia, producing opulent brocaded fabric known as songket. Over time, they undertake an innovation in the atelier of Tanoti House, introducing new and unique elements to their weaving projects. The weaves produced using leather are the new material, a renaissance of the old. The weaver manipulates the characteristics of the leather to create a fabric that has the capability to deliver dimension, form, structure, fluidity, and pattern. Tanoti Leatherweaves: the material which is fashion on its own.

What’s the story behind this collection? Who/ what inspired it?

Tanoti was born of a community of weavers accomplished in the art of songket weaving, producing opulent traditional brocades of the Malay world. Trained by a foundation established by the former Queen of Malaysia, the team transitioned from public research workshop to private atelier in 2012, with a firm resolve to preserve this dying heritage and sustain the craft. The transition demanded innovation, our weavers turning their hands to new designs and products, from fashion to furnishings, but always maintaining traditional techniques on original looms to produce the highest quality fabrics. What role do you think social media plays in fashion today?

Social media can function to both enhance as well as destroy a brand. It is a largely unregulated platform that allows all types of communications to be conducted. Hence, the management of social media needs to be both

Bengali Inspires A Global Sustainable Collection by Abhishek Dutta by Saif Rahman Sozib

Bengal has always been known for creating amazing Handlooms and different expressive craftsmanship. Through this collection, we celebrate the ethnicity as well as the global affection towards Bengal Handloom and craft. Due to pandemics, our weavers and craftsmen have undergone a serious crisis in their livelihood. We tend to extend our support by creating our collection, which will encourage the young generations towards this traditional weave in a more stylish way.

The summer collection prevails with a vast array of pastel hues, consisting of coral, tangerine, mint, teal, and many more. This collection is done exclusively with hand embroidery, applique, and different weaves from Shantipur and Phulia with an array of interesting styles consisting of different styles of Jackets, Jumpsuits, skirts, and uniquely draped sarees. This collection is all about your fun and comfort, which will lighten your mood.

The collection extends to the simplicity of monochromes consisting of simple cuts, yet interesting textures are portrayed through these collections. I Fuse The Trends With Timeless Pieces: George Khalife by Saif Rahman Sozib

© Red Silk Carpet May 2021

1. Tell me a bit about your brand?

My brand is me. It is a collection of who I am and what I love. As a jewelry designer, I look at the neck, wrists, hands, ears, the entire body like an empty canvas. My passion is painting that canvas with gold and diamonds. Draping unique chains across women like Cleopatra. Stacking bracelets on each wrist to create an interesting look. I mix it up and challenge traditional gender norms by using heavy classic men’s chains and bracelets for women and dainty women’s pieces for men. I always think outside the box. My brand is also very individualized to the client. Jewelry is extremely personal, and that is what I love. It speaks to everyone. I fuse the trends with timeless pieces that can be worn every day and never taken off. 2. What’s the story behind this collection? Who/ what inspired it?

This collection is inspired by the celebrity and fashion world. My designs are a mix of high fashion with everyday items. My vision was to create statement necklaces and pieces that

could be worn to the Met Gala or down a red carpet. I love to put my own twist on the current trends and complement pieces that you don’t usually see worn together. For example, I took the popular Cuban link chain, a traditionally large and heavy chain- and gave it a different purpose by incorporating crosses and draping it across the neck in a more delicate way.

business, and I know for other businesses as well.

Pungu Borneo "Ethnic Handicrafts of The Indigenous Communities of Sarawak" by Saif Rahman Sozib Tell me a bit about your brand?

Pungu Borneo is a Kuching-based social enterprise and accessory label that focuses on the ethnic handicrafts of the indigenous communities of Sarawak. Earrings, necklaces of varying lengths, and even prayer beads form a major part of what the brand stands for and presents. Our direction is to express and develop a unique interpretation of traditional designs while creating awareness by generating interest in Bidayuh culture, which was at risk of being forgotten. Our focus is to ensure that we adhere to at least five United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). (*Kuching is a City in Malaysia) What's the story behind this collection? Who/ what inspired it?

This collection is titled Rebirth. It is a story based on passing traditional and cultural knowledge on to the newer/younger generation through inheritance. So that the practice and knowledge will never be forgotten. The inspiration behind this collection is based on the personal story of how I, Lucille, became a traditional jewelry designer. Beautiful pieces of jewelry in exquisite traditional designs were handed down from our forefathers to various members of my own family; from this, born with the desire to create and continue doing jewelry in our traditional cultural designs. This collection also focuses on contemporary accessories with a strong reflection on designs exclusive to the indigenous communities in Borneo. The Rebirth collection is made from sustainable resources such as woven rattan beads and job tears seed. Wild jungle seeds, handmade ceramic, and natural stones were also included. All of the material is planted, harvested, and cured in traditional ways by our beneficiaries. Our aim is to create more awareness of the SDG's impact on the fashion industry. Aliya K alieva "For Ever ybody to Have Their Own Style" by Saif Rahman Sozib

Tell me a bit about your brand? Unfortunately, I don't have my brand yet, but I can tell you about myself. My name is Aliya Kalieva. I'm 23 years old. I am a designer from Kyrgyzstan. Since 2014, I have studied fashion design in college and received my bachelor's degree at KGUSTA IIP. In 2020, I graduated from University and released a fashion collection under the direction of Irina Iliushenko called "Poppies of the Pamirs." This collection was my thesis. The concept of the collection is based on the idea of the need to stimulate cultural education. As a result of spiritual development, that will be based on the desire for meaningful beauty and filled with folk traditions, individuality, and care for the environment.

The urgent task in 2020 was saving resources all over the world. Therefore, ecofriendly design became the basis for creating clothing. We want models that will be relevant, comfortable, multifunctional, and in demand for several seasons of every age and body type. The clothing is made in a modern and ethnic style based on the use of natural and traditional materials. The use of traditional and simple cuts of the Kyrgyz costume and ornaments is styled based on the combinatorial method, using typed elements (modules) when creating a complete form—combining parts that are proportional divisions within the basic form and using techniques of permutation, insertions, grouping, and organization of rhythms. The nature of the Pamirs became the creative sources. The contrast of the mountain landscape due to climate conditions manifests itself in the selection of materials with different characteristics and functions of biological origin. Such as wool processed into wool, natural silk, linen, and silver. The prototype of the image of the nomadic people in the Pamir mountains is a bright red flower - poppy. It

personifies both beauty and endurance, which is now relevant in conceptual fashion. Therefore, the bioform of the analog was transformed into stylized ornaments based on traditional ones, in the texture of materials, their color scheme, and in the design of the forms of costumes and their individual parts. Ornaments in the form of a poppy made of wool and silk are used to decorate the upper garments, like silver buttons and accessories. What's the story behind this collection? Who/ what inspired it?

When creating the collection, traditional techniques of an environmentally friendly nature were used. For example, wool felting, hand weaving, and embroidery that helped by connecting parts of a costume by hand and using experimental mounting on loops and buttons were developed.

Canvases of different textures were combined with crinkled silk and wool. Also, raw edges to achieve aesthetics. On top of the canvas, they were supplemented with sewn-on rhythmic details made of wool and silk. Figured stitching completed the complex composition, repeating the pattern of crinkled silk on wool, creating ornamental motives. The combinatorial method was applied to rearrange and dismantle parts and elements, creating new variants of shapes and proportions. The length and width of which can be adjusted depending on the season and purpose. All upper products of the collection are double-sided with different experimental textures and colors for greater practicality and variability of images and comfort. The result of the work was a collection of models that once collected the positive characteristics of sustainable and conceptual design, emphasizing innovation. By reminding modern people that they are inextricably linked with the

environment. The culture of people in this world and the need to preserve the traditions of creation.

I think social media plays a big role in fashion today. Since we used to learn about fashion from magazines and TV, now we can watch live shows of different designers from different countries on the internet. That's why fashion began to change quickly. A large number of people became interested in fashion. But it is most important for everybody to have their own style. We can offer our vision options for beauty and style. Each person chooses something of their own. Many try to stand out. That's why the fashion world has become so diverse. Earlier, the main cities of fashion were Milan, Paris, and New York. Thanks to the internet and competitions like the FNL network and IDFW, we can know about designs from every country with their unique ideas and culture, making fashion even

Nurbek K adyrkulov “The Long Sleeves And Coats Are Made of Organic Flax” by Saif Rahman Sozib

Tell me a bit about your brand?

My name is Nurbek Kadyrkulov, and I am a beginning designer. Since childhood, I was interested in art and collecting various gemstones, and observing various forms of plants. I graduated from the Institute of Innovative Professions under KSUCTA, named after N. Isanova, with a specialty in Clothing Design in 2020. What’s the story behind this collection? Who/ what inspired it?

When designing my "Ne On" collection, I was following the same idea. My role model was a modern unisex businessman who lives in a busy megapolis. Living in a busy urban city, it is very important to be as mobile and free as a bird in order to be efficient and keep up with the daily tasks. Which then reflected on the design of my collection.

Hybrid clothes such as a raincoat-poncho and anorak-poncho are very comfortable and light. They are multifunctional by being transformable and unisized, which ensures their longevity when wearing under different conditions. They can be used as outerwear and as a blanket at the same time by covering the entire body.

trends online and track the news. I firmly believe that social media is an excellent environment for expressing your ideas and creativity. It also can be used as great leverage when promoting your products to broader consumers.

The long sleeves and coats are made of organic flax, which provides comfort and warmth. The design includes creative stitches which resemble urban road lines and has additional functional pads for certain parts of the body.

Posh Me'ke "Women Being Independent, Powerful But Fashionable" by Saif Rahman Sozib

Tell me a bit about your brand? And What's the story behind this collection? Who/ what inspired it?

The name and the concept of the brand are inspired by my sister and me. Having the love for classic staple garments, the Posh Me'Ke brand took that idea mixed it with Edge (Morgen E) meets conservative (Kimberly E.) Developed in 2015 but launched in 2017, the goal was to create garments that are versatile, in that importance was placed on women being independent, powerful but fashionable. This is based on my lifestyle of wearing many different

hats. In making my vision a reality, I created and designed a "backless skirt" concept- this garment is a conversation piece that adds confidence to the Posh Me'Ke Woman. My customer loves classic, simple, and unique garments that could be worn in various settings. Posh Me'Ke's garments are structured, chic, and timeless. What role do you think social media plays in fashion today? Social Media plays a huge role in fashion today. Designers are able to be transparent with the process of designing and making garments. Je s s R e ye s Jimenez “Influenced By My Multicultural Background” by Saif Rahman Sozib Tell me a bit about your brand?

I am a designer influenced by my multicultural background. Having been raised in the U.S.A and Mexico; with a Peruvian father and Mexican mother has allowed me to create a new narrative that is my own while also tied to my history and diverse background. It is the fusion

of these cultures, reflections of displacement and detachment, and my identity as a Peruvian Mexican American that influences my designs. From these experiences form the silhouettes, fabric manipulation techniques, textiles, and systems of dressing. Which ties in my appreciation for clothing made carefully and thoughtfully. I find quality in craftsmanship and its embedment in modern design. The garments grant the wearer a romantic presence for ever-evolving women that are continually finding themselves. They embrace creativity and the desire to move throughout the world with graceful fluidity and power. © Red Silk Carpet May 2021

What’s the story behind this collection? Who/ what inspired it?

For his collection, I was particularly drawn by the garments used for theatrical performances within the district of the Conchucos, Peru, where there is a visible fusion of indigenous and Spanish culture. I collected images that were taken by a friend of my father throughout his career as a photographer. The photos give light to centuries of history and tradition, which have inspired me and have allowed me to reflect on my identity, as I encounter feelings of detachment from being torn between multiple places with no one to call ‘home.’

I incorporated various fabric manipulation techniques that embody the many textures of the ornamental wear and layering on the theatrical costumes. The textures created by the fabric manipulation on the raw silk fabrics inform the shape as they wrap and layer around the body. Silk dupioni and silk faille were used for their ability to hold structure and soft shine quality. Chiffon and silk linen blends were incorporated to contrast the stiffness and add a romantic feel. What role do you think social media plays in fashion today?

I think that social media in fashion plays an important

role in that brands can highlight their own unique voice and connect with those that can relate to that voice. It is also changing the way consumers buy fashion. By being able to instantly save a product that you like while scrolling or having the option to visit the shopping site in one tap has definitely made it a simpler process. Winner of Miss Omniverse 2020 Vladyslava Kurilenko from Ukraine by Saif Rahman Sozib

What time do you get up to start your day?

Usually, I wake up at 7:30, make breakfast, and prepare to work. During the pandemic, I change my schedule- I wake up at 8:30 because I am working at home. I would never leave my home without…

I would never leave my home without my iPhone. I have everything there, my schedule for the day, my list, my contacts. I cannot imagine my day without a mobile phone. I think in this year I must try social media detox for one week, but I don’t promise.

My beauty essentials include...

My favorite travel snack is…

For me, as a modern woman in the 21 century, it is important for my skin to look healthy and brighter every day. Most important is enough sleep and healthy eating, and cosmetics would be only

Avocado 100%. I am an avocado addict – one of the tastiest avocados was in the Dominican Republic.

in the last place)

The last thing Vladislava Googled was…

My TOP beauty essentials

1) Dermalogica ultracalming serum concentrate 2) Creamy eye treatment Kiehl´s 3) Korean hydrogel eye patch and hydration masque 4) Ampule Concentrate sheet masks for maximum result. My biggest fashion petpeeve is…

I don’t like many big logos on clothes, for example, a big Gucci logo on a t-shirt and a logo on pants together with a Gucci bag- all this with big logos looks like a disaster. I like brands, but big fashion brand mania is not for me. © Red Silk Carpet May 2021

Planning travels. I want to travel a lot in this coming year. After the pandemic, when countries will be on an open border, I will fly to Peru and Mexico. After Miss Multiverse, I want to discover only Latin America. If my days had one extra hour…

I wish I would spend more time with my dog mini-York; he’s like a baby, never enough love and attention. Of course, I dream to have more time for reading books.

On a typical Saturday night, I…

I connect with friends. We go out to the bars or restaurants, karaoke bars, dance clubs. What article of clothing do you enjoy to wear the most ?

During the day I prefer a casual, comfortable outfit and flat shoes. I think the most worn clothing is black leggings.

My biggest fashion regret is…

Don’t believe words. Believe in actions.

I like heels, but they are not fashionable. In the twenty-first century women, prefer a casual outfit and flat shoes.

If I could meet anyone living or dead, it would be…

When I’m stressed I…

Steve Jobs, because in my eyes he is an example of a wise, well-educated man.

I eat sweets. My favorite place to shop What I love most about my country is…

Ukraine is a wonderful country; it has amazing nature. There are a lot of mountains, forests, and the famous Black Sea. The best advice I ever got…

is…

I prefer shopping in Europe.

It’s absolutely awesome, but I also like traditional Ukrainian designers. Miss Omniverse Follow Instagram: @missomniverse Sponsor: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana

A Conversation With Roza Khaltueva About International Festival “ETHNOPODIUM On Baikal“ by Saif Rahman Sozib

© Red Silk Carpet May 2021

"ETHNOPODIUM on Baikal" is an actual holiday that not only demonstrates fashion but connects it with ethnic roots. Roza Khaltueva - President of the Eurasian Association of Ethno-Designers, member of the Presidium of the Irkutsk Regional Council of Women and the Union of Women of Russia. She was awarded the Jubilee Medal "In Commemoration of the 350th Anniversary of Irkutsk", a sign of public recognition, timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Irkutsk Region. In 2012, she became a laureate of the Governor of the Irkutsk Region Prize "For creative contribution." Holder of the Certificate of Honor of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of the Moscow Government for the preservation and development of folk traditions of the national costume, an outstanding contribution to the cultural

heritage, high professional skills; diplomas, letters of thanks from China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and of course, the Irkutsk region. In November 2019, she was invited to the international project "FUSSIONNOW" ethnofashiontur in Taimyr; in 2020, she became a representative from Russia at the International Digital Fashion Week. Roza Khaltueva, please tell me why you started doing ethnic design?

I am the head of the association, the author of the project "ETHNOPODIUM on Baikal" and its ideological inspirer, organizer. Designers carry out ethnic design, members of the association. In the modern world, representatives of different peoples began to wear their national clothes more often, which is perceived as ethnic symbols that express the nation's mentality, contributing to the activation of ethnocultural selfawareness and the rallying of representatives of all ages and social groups.

This interest is manifested both in the field of science, art, and education and in the field of modern fashion, in the tourism business. It is widely used during various holidays and celebrations. The costume is the history of the people, their soul. Translated from French means "CUSTOM.“ The folk costume is a whole artistic image; its formation was influenced by geographic and climatic conditions and the economic structure. All activities of the association are aimed at studying, preserving, and developing the national costume in the modern world. Starting from the creation of a doll in a national or stylized costume with school students at masterclasses, with professional masters of folk art, and then how the result of the work is the exposition of the "Doll of the World" exhibition.

Working with students at colleges and art schools to create a costume from scrap materials, and then with professional and amateur designers collections of clothes in ethnic style, professional display of works, and selecting the best designers and craftsmen annually at the Profi fashion show / Traditions and Modernity. Exchange of experience and discussion of modern trends and transformation of fashion at conferences and round tables. It is important for us to teach young people to understand that today it is not enough to imitate the image of a fashionable top or photo model, some kind of trend. You need knowledge and skills to correctly represent yourself, your people, the origins of culture and traditions through the national costume. You are the organizer of many large projects. Which of them could you call the most striking and significant?

International festival "ETHNOPODIUM on Baikal". The project is colorful, informative, and entertaining, has long become a "visiting card" of the Irkutsk region, recognizable outside the country and the region. In 2010 he entered the Irkutsk Oblast Book of Records. In 2011, September 14 was marked at the VII Baikal Economic Forum as one of the best ethnocultural projects. Repeatedly became the winner of the Presidential Grants Fund from 2013 to 2016. was included in the UNESCO calendar, 1st place in the nomination "The best project to popularize folk traditions and crafts" in the Russian Event Awards National Award in the field of event tourism in the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts. In December 2019, the designers of the Association entered the top ten ethnic designers of Russia at the XIX international high fashion competition "ETNOERATO" in Moscow.
