Beating the Odds, my bio.... I am Michael
G. Airhart,
I would like to share with you some of my history from growing up. I grew up in the projects of Altgeld Gardens early 70s until 1994. I was the type of kid who wanted to invent things to feed the people more like entertain the people. I remember as a kid I use to take a sock and 6 milk crates and put on puppet shows, my sock name was Micky, I named it after the kid who loves the cereal. I grew up with two brothers Billy and Stephen. Stephen passed away in June of 2017, I miss him dearly, Billy lives in Atlanta with his wife and family. We grew up in a house hold with a single parent, my mom Pamela, she was a nurse trying to better herself to get us out of the projects. So, my mom was almost never around so we kind of raised ourselves. My mom was the best, but we found out she had a drug issue, and an abusive boyfriend who use to beat her, we saw a lot growing up. I was a kid who did not like school, I would go in the school front door and leave out the school back door, when school let out, I would return back like I was there until I got caught, it was nothing nice.
I remember growing up, they use to have this sewing class for the seniors up at the Children’s Building and I use to sneak up there just to take the class, not knowing it was building my custom mascot designer career. Just to push forward a little bit, I end up going to high school where once again went in the front door came out the back door. The school couldn't deal with me anymore and kicked me out they refereed my mom to Job Corps where I became a top student/ the centers dj / and I took 3 trades - building maintenance/cement / carpentry foreman at Atterbury Job Corps. I got out of job corps and ended up joining a gang, becoming a universal chief of the vice lords and one of the top drug dealers in the projects, until one day I caught a case and I prayed to the Lord GOD, if you get me out of this issue I will stop selling drugs, leave the gang scene alone and start praising YOU.
That is what happened and since 1994 I help get kids off of the streets to join job corps. One thing I did not know was what GOD wanted me to do with my life until I called out to HIM. I worked at different jobs until GOD blessed me with my calling. It was brought to me one night, remember the times I had you go to that sewing class with the seniors that was what I was preparing you for, to be a mascot designer, doing parties everywhere. It is a lot to this story, but I just wanted you to get an idea. I was caught in an arm robbery in a gas station just stopping by to get some gas, activist Andrew Holmes is the person who saved me out of that robbery. I’m the CEO of All Kids Matter Foundation, a non-profit organization that feed the homeless, give toiletries on a daily basis and my
character company Kiddie World Characters and Next Level Custom Mascots is still up and running from me employing job corps students and others kids Thank you for your time
