Why it’s so important to create the perfect outdoor space The increased desire for outdoor drinking and dining has inspired us to help transform beer gardens into botanical terraces that can raise your venues profile. Gardens which provide the perfect place to meet friends and family or just enjoy a relaxing drink after work can draw in hundreds of additional customers. We can help you create a timeless space where you can host regular arts or music events or simply provide a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle.

Covid-Safe Outdoor Spaces Allowing households or socially distant friends to sit together in a waterproofed space, complete with electric heaters and an outdoor bar gives you the opportunity to continue to operate. We can adapt your outdoor space to ensure you are ready for when the country eases lockdown restrictions. Some projects are exceptionally easy to be put into action, take for example adding a feature stretch tent and other outdoor solutions at the Methuen Arms which took just a few weeks to complete. We are experts in creating areas where each person or group can occupy so they do not come in contact with each other and are happy to arrange a site visit to let you know what can be achieved with your outdoor space.

The Methuen Arms Corsham

Before

In the courtyard of this gorgeous Cotswolds garden we built a pergola with a covered roof as the client wanted to enhance their outdoor dining experience during the pandemic. Festoon lighting brightens those dark nights allowing patrons to sit outside that little bit longer. The stretch tent and decked area is entirely new. The tent is wrapped in festoon lighting and artificial planting which neatly hangs over carefully positioned furniture, free standing pyramid heaters and a selection of table top plants and accessories. The Lime Kiln Langport The Lime Kiln offers a relaxing outdoor retreat with its covered pergola, feature planting and twinkling night lights. The sides of the pergola are clad with reclaimed timber, branded with the Butcombe logo and have characterful faux ivy creeping up onto the beams. Sections of bespoke fixed seating constructed with reclaimed timber compliment the classic look of the pergola and add ample space for dining outdoors. Existing furniture was repositioned to ensure the seating area was compliant with social distancing rules. BUILD | FURNISH

Concorde BGW came highly recommended and they did not disappoint. They took the time and effort to understand my vision for Stanley’s and came up with amazing and imaginative ideas for the restaurant. Nothing was left to chance and I was so impressed by their attention to detail. Hugh Stanley, Owner

Stanley’s Chelsea This project shows the potential such a small site can have when expertly styled with furniture, accessories and planting. Although the space was designed with the pandemic in mind, the layout still puts people at the heart of it. Upholstered booths with wood and reclaimed timber glazed screens separate diners in groups of 6, all socially distant and safe. Over the booths, two umbrellas with cascading planting cast shade on diners, nearby olive trees, and trickling fountains make it a special place to be. The courtyard has its own rustic yet pretty bar clad in reclaimed timber with hatches to close it off out of hours. DESIGN | BUILD | FURNISH 7

The Sun Inn Swindon

Step through the new archway made from disused Arkell’s beer barrels into a gorgeous garden perfect for summery sun-soaked supping. The existing garden shelter, now renamed “The Potting Shed”, had a structural overhaul allowing this covered space to be used year-round. An existing external WC and store was reconfigured to form a new bar to service the garden and the existing furniture was rejuvenated and supplemented with new colourful pieces. Festoon lighting and wall lights add a warm and welcoming glow and they ensure the garden can be enjoyed until later in the evening. DESIGN | BUILD | FURNISH 8

The Wharf Dartford A new wrap-around terrace was built over the water and an outside bar has been added to take advantage of the pub’s scenic location overlooking Cotton Lake. The construction of the terrace was key in improving the layout of the pub which previously felt disjointed. Forming the upper terrace allowed for access to the outside from all floors. Gripsure timber decking was used to combat the safety challenges of the unpredictable and often wet British weather. The terrace has been styled with outdoor furniture, jumbrellas and a large retractable awning which provides shelter in the wetter months. BUILD

The Lazy Pig in the Pantry Berkshire Why settle for one when you can have three? The Lazy Pig in the Pantry’s alfresco options comprise of an indoor/outdoor conservatory and beautifully landscaped front and side terraces. When the slightest speck of sun glimmers through the conservatory windows you can expect them to be quickly removed opening up the space to the beautifully landscaped garden. The terrace can be enjoyed day or night when festoon lighting brightens the night sky whilst you warm yourself by the newly built firepit. DESIGN | BUILD | FURNISH 10

The Water Tower Sheffield

The refurbishment of the garden introduced a brand-new children’s play area to appeal to a wide range of new customers. Securing the play area with gates and fencing has made it more appealing to families. Decorative external lighting ensures a safe environment that can be used at all times. Furniture, Jumbrellas and new signage complete the refurbishment of the Water Tower’s garden. DESIGN | BUILD 12

The Up In Arms Oxford The spacious beer garden has lawned and decked areas of benches, wooden tables and heaters. A shipping container has been put in the back to host events including film screenings and live music performances. When the garden is not occupied with performers, customers can make use of the new external football and ping-pong tables to entertain themselves. A coffee station was built to the front of the pub and is complete with a wooden hatch which opens onto the street so patrons and passers-by can also indulge in the barista action. The Ostrich Bristol The tipis in the Ostrich’s vast garden were specifically installed to cater for patrons during the pandemic, plus they make the most of the stunning views offered by the pub’s harbourside location. Internally, each tipi has decked flooring, planting, festoon lighting and a warming open fire in the centre. A new external kitchen was constructed with serving hatches and some cover for direct catering services for the busy outdoor area. The tipis are a temporary structure which allows the client to move them and use wherever they are needed, they also provide the perfect space for private bookings. DESIGN | BUILD | FURNISH 15

The Huntsman Brockenhurst

The Huntsman wanted to rejuvenate the site and give it a multifunctional purpose by creating the perfect place for a mid-week pit stop or a weekend getaway. The courtyard has new lighting and external furniture to give the area a continental feel. The existing circular feature was brought up-to-date with a new paint finish and distressed tin tiles. New, modern and brightly coloured external furniture added pops of colour, two existing gazebos have new fixed seating, feature tree tables and jazzy cushions to make a more inviting external dining option. We added the finishing touches to the venue by adding an abundance of lavender plants and a stunning new fire pit in the garden. DESIGN | BUILD | FURNISH 16

Rose & Crown Thorpe With a brief to enliven the existing interior, Concorde BGW refurbished this quintessential, country pub in Egham bringing life, colour and different pockets of ambience to a rather compact, listed building. Externally the Rose & Crown now has a newly landscaped garden with reclaimed timber fixed seating booths made from vintage railway sleepers and, through the installation of three quirky sheds, we have introduced alfresco dining - no matter what the weather! Each shed has its own unique character and colour scheme with upholstered vintage furniture and retro hand-painted wallpapers. DESIGN | BUILD | FURNISH

The redesign of our garden has by far exceeded our expectations. The garden room and huts are useable year-round and adding extra covers to our venue has helped us boost our sales massively! Clive Price, Managing Director Barons Pub Company

Dundas Arms Berkshire We were briefed to carefully update the informal bar, two-level restaurant, waterside garden and comfortable bedrooms of The Dundas Arms. We commenced the building and interior fit out works in early March and completed the project within two months of starting. Two of the best features we installed in the Dundas Arms refurbishment project is the garden restaurant panelling and bespoke fixed seating. It defines the area and adds some privacy for those dining in the restaurant whilst creating the perfect place to soak up the sun and enjoy the finer things in life. DESIGN | BUILD | FURNISH 18

Outdoor bars Constructing an outside bar is sure to be a hit with customers, particularly on very busy days when your indoor bar is packed-full. Having a dedicated summer bar can be the perfect place to provide on-tap ales and beers or for a more contemporary vibe why not make your very own, increasingly popular, gin station.

Drayton Court, Earls Court

Overall, an outdoor bar could lead to a boost in revenue, especially at weekends and on warm days, it keeps everyone’s thirst quenched, whilst a carefully chosen snack menu can quickly feed the crowds and boost operational speeds.

Furniture & Seating Creating plenty of space for alfresco dining using fixed seating booths can attract more customers and will naturally increase the footprint of your pub, bar or restaurant helping improve gross profits. Cabana style huts with fires or on-demand heating allow for a more useable year-round space but can also form an area to host private parties or to seat large groups. Transforming your outdoor area into an oasis for guests by carefully choosing furniture, fixtures and fittings can really pay off. The Pilot, Chiswick 22
