Case study#01 — Pitcher & Piano Bar & Restaurant | Design & Build
Concorde BGW have been instrumental in the brand roll out of Pitcher & Piano which now has 20 bars across the UK. Beautifully designed, each bar has its own character with many of them in listed busilings. No two P&Ps are the same. This Grade II listed former church boasts an impressive interior and the architectural finery has been complemented with a refurbishment that is both striking and sympathetic. The centrepiece bar provides the perfect backdrop for an eclectic mix of features that propel this venue to iconic status. Concorde BGW also converted the existing car park space into a stand alone coffee and cocktail offer and created a sleek glazed bar buildings with internal reclaimed materials, industrial furniture & lighting.

Vintage charm and enduring style redefining train fare. We bought back to life a number of beautiful period features including the large double height vaulted ceiling in the bar and re-introducing Victorian grandeur in the shape of a main bar complete with metal columns and station clock.

Case study#03 — Baresca Pub & Restaurant | Design & Build
The concept was to provide a unique environment focusing on fresh, bright and vibrant qualities that recreate the Barcelona market vibe throughout. The scheme was meticulously planned with a keen eye for authenticity and understanding of the operational requirements needed to ensure a superb tapas dining experience. Much of the furniture was imported directly from Spain and salvaged windows were used in screens. Reclaimed timbers were also used throughout with the vintage industrial qualities of this amazing building providing a fitting backdrop to a stylish, flowing scheme.

Case study#04 — The Wheatsheaf Inn Pub and hotel Design & Build
**First country pub in the world to make it into Tatler top 101 hotels. Work involved gutting and refurbishing the existing premises, converting and incorporating the next door cottage into three new rooms and public areas while running all planning, listed building and change of use applications.

Case study#05 — The Blue Boat Bar | Design and Build
The Blue Boat is an eclectic industrial nautical chic with exposed concrete ceilings and columns accented by cool metallic fixtures and softened with timber finishes. The all day dining offer demands versatile seating areas and a mix of upcycled pieces including sofas, high seating and tables offer flexibility alongside warm wood and fixed seating booths fitted out in first class upholstery. The famous Boat Race is celebrated amongst the vintage memorabilia and subtle boathouse styling that flows through full width bi-folding doors onto the iconic terrace that connects the venue with the famous Thames. This was key to the design and the overall scheme and is anchored by huge reclaimed lock gates that flank the entrance and act as screens to the fixed seating either side. A splendid example of waterfront dining and drinking, this suntrap incorporates restrained wooden furniture with vibrant planting using a wide range of flora that specifically suited to the environment, as well as show planting such as large ponds and water features integrated into the fixed seating.

Case study#06 — The Fire station Bar | Design and Build
Having been a bistro style venue for several years the client requested an innovative interior design scheme that served a varied and demanding customer base from breakfast until late. Emphasis was placed on appealing to a more informal crowd, creating unique settings within a owing concept and rediscovering the heritage of the building. The interior celebrates the authentic Industrial aesthetic of glazed bricks, riveted steels & folding timber doors, with new playful adornments, such as reclaimed fire reels, fireman’s lockers and fire hose chandeliers alluding to the building’s former life.

Case study#07 — Leadbelly’s Bar | Design and Build
Formerly a Chinese restaurant with a confused layout, Concorde BGW have completed the design and build for Canada Water’s latest new food and drink offering, Leadbelly’s Bar & Kitchen. With a spacious new layout, Leadbelly’s brings a contemporary bar to the neighbourhood, bursting with character and quirky design elements. The design scheme, allowed for a stylistic fuse between industrial architectural features and foliageinspired soft furnishings to create an “urban concrete jungle” aesthetic. Particular design features included a structural reconfiguration of a previously dominating long corridor that ran the stretch of the building. Having halved this in size and moved the toilets, the restaurant space is a lot more generous and the corridor has become a key design feature. Structural timber slats imbedded with an industrial light feature, created an alluring illusion drawing the customers through to the otherside of the bar, a previously un-used space.

Case study#08 — Lost & Found Bar | Design and Build
The innovative Lost & Found concept first opened in Birmingham in 2012 and, after four years of huge success, is now to be joined by outposts in Leeds and Knutsford. The Leeds all-day bar and restaurant is located in the heart of the city on Greek Street. Described as an avant-garde botanical hideaway, the restaurant serves seasonal British fare as well as experimental drinks at its bar. The Lost & Found now successfully recalls the glamour of bygone eras and transports guests into the world of ‘mythological Victorian Professor Emily B. Kingsley, expert in the study of butterflies’. Design details include intricate nature themed wallpapers, hanging floral arrangements and vintage pendant lights that create a sense of mystery in this new elaborate drinking den and restaurant.

Case study#09 — The Tea Merchant Pub | Brand | Design and Build
Paying homage to the local area’s rich heritage as one of the busiest docks in the world, The Tea Merchant has been re-positioned and transformed from a rather out-dated watering hole into an elegant bar and restaurant perfect for the bourgeoning food and drink scene in Canary Wharf. The dark interiors have been renovated into a bright, enticing dining area complete with an assortment of seating. Wanting to maximise guest capacity, these range from large booths that are great for groups, banquet and table seating for smaller parties and an intimate snug area adorned with vintage botanical artwork and soft blue and yellow hues. Additionally, we added in ‘The Cabin’ – a stunning new private dining room elevated above the main dining area, affording guests a unique view through its glass-panelled walls at the stunning ‘living’ wall feature that breaks up the large space. Externally, The Tea Merchant makes the most of its enviable location with heated alfresco seating for up to 80 guests and eye-catching window displays nodding to the districts history of tea imports.
