General Outlook: Weddings
DOROTHY POLKA, EDITOR OF POLKA DOT BRIDE
In 2019 we are going to be seeing incredible wow factors, but in carefully planned out ways. For example, think beautiful neutral colour palettes with an over the top single floral installation. Or, a classically styled wedding with a stunning, almost sculptural bouquet. Another example would be a beautiful beachside wedding where the bride wears a gown with an epic statement train. Couples are working to curate their style to really make use of individual, artisan, and unexpected elements. There’s less in your
face glamour, and more show stopping moments that are completely unexpected. Florals will continue to make their statement, but we will also see more unexpected uses of foliage and unusual blooms for modern, sculptural arrangements. Gowns will be fashion forward, making use of breathtaking, textural fabrics, and locations will be unexpected spaces that tell their own special story. This is the season where personalisation marries utter style.
