This styled shoot is part of Confetti Fair's United States of Party collaboration; a collection of 23 unique parties and events – all inspired by a US location.

This beachside wedding at sunset is inspired by the shores of Hawaii, and with an abundance of palm trees, tropical flowers and a touch of gold, it makes for a stunning setting.

What inspired you to choose Hawaii?

I wanted to do something on the beach. I was able to find this amazing restaurant called Zimzala in Cronulla (in Sydney), right on the beach. They saw my vision and wanted to be a part of this beautiful set-up. The blue water, the sandy beach and the shining sun all had to be part of the shoot.

What influenced the theme and styling?

What influenced the theme and styling?My inspiration was summer. I love sand, water and sun. When I saw that Hawaii was one of the themes to pick from, I just had to do it. I’ve always wanted to do some styling along the beach or close to it, so this was my opportunity. I also wanted to style a wedding incorporating green and gold, and this really suited the Hawaiian theme. Green was representing the beautiful rainforest and gold representing the sun.

Which DIYs or party trends did you incorporate into your shoot?

The biggest trend was the use of gold, which is a current trend and goes well with any other colour. The green and gold worked very nicely together on the beach with the sun, sand and water.

What is your favourite thing about the USA?

I love the Hawaiian Islands. In fact, I just got back!
