This styled shoot is part of Confetti Fair's United States of Party collaboration; a collection of 23 unique parties and events – all inspired by a US location.

The marriage of Chicago and jazz provides the perfect mood for this floral-infused proposal in which touches of the music and city pervade throughout.

What inspired you to choose Chicago?

My love for jazz and romance made Chicago the perfect fit for this genre!

What influenced the theme and styling?

Proposal set-ups are quite trendy at the moment. I was inspired to use this set-up and incorporate Chicago's jazz vibes that captivate this city. Bringing Chicago to Sydney; the colours were inspired by the interior of a typical jazz bar being black, red and gold. The cake depicted the city skyline and was a perfect way for the newly engaged couple to celebrate with immediate family. Overall, we wanted to achieve a captivating, classy and unique set-up just like the city itself.

Which DIYs or party trends did you incorporate into your shoot?

We used a live dual-band for this proposal as it's a current wedding trend. Other elements were neon lights, floral installations on modern props and custom-made cookies - all trends of 2019.
