Details: Professionals will be coached and mentored by the Golf Operations leadership in every area of the golf operation, fostering the core leadership skills necessary to succeed in future positions. We will work to develop the strongest sense of Club Business Acumen, which will allow for expanded influence within our profession and beyond. Specific areas include:
• Tournament/Event Management for an active membership; our events are the Best of the Best.
• Retail, Buying and Merchandising of an Award-Winning Golf Shop (Top 10 in the World)
• Coordination of the Caddie Program, a big part of our Club’s History and Tradition
• Outside Operations and Scheduling
• Teaching and Coaching Golf, and the Operation of a State-of-the-Art Training Facility
• Playing golf with Members and building equity with the Membership
• Exposure to the planning and execution of Major Championships (PGA of America)
• Attending Department and Club Wide Leadership meetings, including Golf Committee meetings, to develop your leadership (and boardroom) skills for future opportunities
• Navigating through challenging situations with Members and Staff
• Gain a full understanding of communication with the membership through various platforms and on a variety of topics

Below details the responsibility each Professional will be exposed to as a part of their development:
• Participate in the Junior Program as an instructor
• Attend all Athletic Department and Golf Committee Meeting
• Attend the PGA Show with the team
• Participate in various club wide team opportunities
• Learn the Hiring/Interview/Culture fit process
• Lead large-scale Club events
• Provide Individual Lessons
• Exposure to building the budget and monthly tracking of financials
• Work with the F&B Team on Golf Events
• Ownership and Leadership of various projects that assist in the operation’s overall success
• Involved with regular written and video communication to the membership on a variety of topics
• Building your network; exposure to other leading operations and Professionals
• Minutes for the Golf Committee Meetings
• Assist with Quarterly Golf Shop Inventories
• Class-A PGA Member or enrolled in the PGA’s Apprentice Program
• 6-Month availability (April through November) compensation
• Hourly wage starting at $17.25 per hour, opportunity for overtime at time-and-a-half
• Individual lesson & Junior Golf Camp/Clinic commissions
• Playing and practice privileges at appropriate times
• Housing & Staff uniform provided
• Free meals in Employee Dining while on shift

jason epstein, pga director of golf & athletics
Born and raised in Miami Florida, Jason has been around the game since the age of 4. Jason was self-taught, learning the game in his front yard (and at several public courses in and around the Miami area). His passion and love for golf took him to New Mexico State University, where he played on the golf team and graduated from the Professional Golf Management Program. A Member of the PGA for the past 28 years, Jason has served as the Lead Professional at The Biltmore Hotel in Miami, Florida, Director of Club Operations at Tuckers Point Club in Bermuda, Director of Golf Operations at The Club at Las Campanas in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and as the PGA Director of Golf and Athletics at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland.
Jason has won numerous awards from the PGA of America, developed dozens of professionals into leadership roles in the golf industry, mentored many of his peers, and has implemented programs that assist professionals at every level. Congressional Country Club has a long and storied history. They will be hosting seven of the PGA’s Championships, the Ryder Cup, and PGA HOPE’s National Golf & Wellness Week over the next 14 years. Jason played an integral role in working with the PGA to secure those championships and has helped shape National Golf & Wellness Week into the success it is today. Jason is committed to developing and mentoring the next generation of professionals, has served on Sections Boards, National Committees, speaks nationally on the game, is a Member of the CMAA’s Business Management Institute Faculty and has hosted numerous seminars benefitting professionals
Through hard work, humility, and dedication, Jason developed a reputation for building relationships, fostering an environment of teamwork, and being an inclusive leader. He is an effective communicator who makes others feel at ease around him and possesses genuine warmth when relating to others. Jason is relentless in the pursuit of excellence in all he does. He loves the game, its values and tradition and is dedicated to growing the game and profession. An avid marathon runner and Ironman triathlete, Jason serves as a PGA REACH Ambassador Trustee and has been a part of three PGA REACH running teams competing in the NYC Marathon. A golfing family, Jason and his wife Tina live in Potomac, Maryland with their children Sam (17), Miles (15), and Allister (12).

EXPERIENCE: Aaron just completed his 8th year as a PGA Professional and second year at Congressional. Previous experience includes Interim Head Professional and 1st Assistant at Shoal Creek Club in Birmingham, Alabama, Assistant Professional at The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Assistant Professional at Sea Island Golf Club, and Associate Professional at Wade Hampton Golf Club. Aaron’s passion for golf began 20 years ago when he was introduced to the game by his father and he just welcomed his first child, Kennedy, in August.

WHO INTRODUCED YOU TO GOLF AND WHAT AGE: My parents introduced me to golf when I was eight years old. My grandparents also lived on a golf course, and it was my favorite thing to do when we would visit them.
UNIQUE EXPERIENCE: My golf team and I won back-to-back Division III National Championships in 2016 and 2017. It was an incredible experience to share with my teammates, and I have memories that will last a lifetime.

EXPERIENCE: I’ve been a dedicated student and golf professional for the PGA for 11 years working at a various of prestigious clubs across the country including: Harbor Town Golf Links, Golf Club of Georgia, Kiawah Island Club, Augusta Country Club and Chevy Chase Club.
WHO INTRODUCED YOU TO GOLF AND WHAT AGE: I started playing golf when I was 14 years old. My uncle introduced me to golf and he taught me how to truly enjoy every aspect of the game!
UNIQUE EXPERIENCE: My experience working at Augusta Country Club afforded me the opportunity to play golf with remarkable individuals. Most notably, with Peyton & Eli Manning, quarterbacks for the Denver Broncos and the New York Giants. This is one round of golf that I will always remember!
