Contributing this month...
Welcome As we approach September our calendar is once again full of events. We are extremely grateful to DB Sound and Vision who have made a fantastic video to portray what happens at our regular informal networking evenings across the county. We have circulated the video across our social media platforms and are delighted with the responses we have received. Please see Chamber updates page 19 to find out how you can watch the video. It is now a matter of weeks before our B2B Exhibition takes place in Cambridge with the Peterborough B2B taking place a few weeks later. You can find event details on page 20, but we urge you to follow @CamB2B and @PboroB2B on Twitter and visit the Chamber website for seminar details as they are announced. After the summer break our calendar is once again full of events and training courses. Please visit the event pages in the magazine and on the website and see what is coming up. Don’t forget, if you see anything you are interested in but not ready to book, take advantage of the event reminder facility on our website.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE’S COMMENT |
Overseas
Network
A recent survey of companies from the service sector, conducted by the British Chambers of Commerce, has revealed that one in five are on the verge of trading internationally. The sector is performing well and realising significant growth, so this untapped potential could be essential to rebalancing the UK economy back towards exports. The UK trade deficit, that is the difference between the value of goods imported and those exported, grew by £100million in June 2014 compared to the previous month. To put that in perspective, quarter 2 2014 saw the deficit rise by a massive £1.4billion on the previous quarter. Those 18 per cent of companies give us hope that this will be reversed. However just because they recognise that opportunities exist for them to grow their business overseas, that sadly doesn’t mean that the right support and infrastructure is in place to ensure they take that first step. The same survey identified numerous barriers to exporting that must be addressed. Excessive overseas regulation is hindering 32 per cent of would-be exporters, so the BCC is calling for a reduction in red tape, including the completion of the EU Single Market in services. There is also a skills issue too, with one quarter of service sector exporters also reporting that language and cultural differences are a barrier to exporting. We believe it would help entrepreneurs become more globally minded if the government was to make foreign language learning compulsory between the ages of 7 and 16. Finally, the lack of funding. We along with many other Chambers and the BCC are working with UK Trade and Investment
and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to develop an overseas network of Chambers and business groups to support British companies looking to trade in markets across the world. But is it enough? Germany invests much more in its bilateral Chamber Network. Furthermore, the UK banking sector could and should do more to provide businesses with the working capital they need to fund exports. With a language, regulatory and funding barriers all discouraging potential exporters from taking their first step towards doing business overseas, it really is time that the government, Chambers of Commerce and private sector organisations worked together more effectively to tackle those barriers and enable UK exporters to reach their overseas potential.

Cross Keys Homes celebrating 10 years Back on 4 October 2004, following the transfer of the City Council’s housing stock, Cross Keys Homes was formed. Since then the not-for-profit housing association has worked hard to improve the city, local communities and neighbourhoods. It has seen the building of 1,000 new homes, helped over 200 people to buy their own home, supported over 500 people into work and developed strong tenant and community involvement. Most recently, Cross Keys Homes has branched out into providing a community care service with the establishment of Cross Keys Care and the building of a 79 apartment, state of the art, extra care facility, Kingfisher Court.
Supporting our community brings added value Cross Keys Homes is so much more than a landlord, they know a home is not just the four walls in which you sleep but also the community in which you live and work. As Cross Keys Homes prepares to enter the next 10 years, they now manage around
14 per cent of Peterborough’s households and lead on a number of positive initiatives across the city. The aim is to make a positive difference not only for Peterborough but wider across Cambridgeshire and for its residents now and the future generations to come. Cross Keys Homes has been allocated £1.3 million by the Homes and Communities Agency to deliver more homes and as part of their expanding development programme they are currently exploring options to raise money on the capital markets. As part of this, they have recently secured a AA- rating through Standard & Poors. This will enable Cross Keys Homes to build more new homes and support more communities over the next 10 years. To launch their celebrations and the countdown to their 10th birthday, Cross Keys Homes has launched a series of short films on its YouTube channel (CrosskeyshomesUK) looking at how 10 people’s lives have been transformed thanks to their help and support. To get on board and join the celebrations #CKHis10 @CrossKeysHomes. You can also follow them on Facebook: crosskeyshomespeterborough or visit: crosskeyshomes.co.uk n

City College Peterborough to reveal 70 years of history City College Peterborough is gearing up for yet another commemorative event in its 70th anniversary year – the launch of its very own history book charting its history from the opening in 1944 to the present day. An army of dedicated researchers, volunteers, students and members of the public have spent the best part of eight months putting the book together, under the guidance of college tutor and local author Tim Wilson. A donation from the sale of each book will

Tim explained: “We have had a lot of input from members of the public who have their own stories about the college, and the whole project has been a real team effort. There are so many different elements to the book and even just looking at how the courses have changed over the years is fascinating; from war time courses on cooking with powdered eggs right up to our current courses on Indian cuisine!” n

Breeze expand into USA Breeze Technology has taken a bold step and expanded its service offering to America’s Sunshine State Florida. With the help of UKTI, the British Consulate in Miami and Export Action USA, they have successfully incorporated Breeze Technology USA LLC and are ready to get going! Tammy Driver, Director of Breeze Technology (UK & US), commented: “The step to move our skill set and experience in both designing and constructing cost effective database systems to a different country and ultimately customer base, seemed not only logical but totally right for us. As a company we are still considered new, but we have years of Sage 50 integration experience under our belt, with some fantastic systems we have built, and so with our recent investment in Intuit/Quickbooks Partner Program, it simply just made sense. “With the addition of Quickbooks to our portfolio, it also allows us greater flexibility within the UK to provide our skills and
services to those businesses who don’t use Sage 50; opening up a new chapter for us. And with Destination Digital funding opportunities for small businesses to develop and enhance their operations, we are so well placed to help other business owners reach their goals. Exciting times!” n

Food on the mind By Rose McDonald, Head of sales, Robinson College Cambridge
IN the modern world, food is important. We like to eat it, make it, talk about it, we even like to watch other people cooking it. In the events industry, top quality catering is promoted as a selling point, with extra biscuits or a bacon sandwich referred to as ‘added value’. We know food has a physical effect on the body: someone who has not eaten Rose McDonald in a while will develop hunger pangs and feel weaker. Similarly, someone who has eaten a burger with little nutritional value may feel sluggish. But how significant is food and the choices we make to our mind? Food has a surprisingly prevalent effect on our thought processes. Think about the differences between when you are hungry and when you are not. If you look at a sandwich when you are full, you will probably think very differently about it compared to when you are incredibly hungry. Sometimes the thought will be all consuming and affect concentration. If your delegates have not provided their brain with adequate fuel, the brain is going to work against them - the focus will be food and not work. Eggs, fish, berries, nuts and avocados are some of the many ingredients proven to have a positive effect on concentration and they happen to be healthy and delicious too. It is up to organisers to recognise this and provide options that will be beneficial for delegates, boosting brain power and making a more productive event. Incineration – the environmentally friendly way LOW Carbon KEEP is a European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) funded knowledge transfer scheme designed to help SMEs in the East of England improve competitiveness, productivity and profits by working in collaboration with a UK university and providing access to a wealth of knowledge, skills and expertise. Incinerator Replacement Technology Ltd (IRTL) is one organisation that has benefited, specialising in systems providing environmentally cleaner alternatives to traditional incineration. IRTL are pioneers in Biomation and Cryomation technologies. Both neutralise harmful pathogens and prions in organic material, removing the need for it to be processed through polluting incinerators. University of Hertfordshire’s collaborative partnership used formal knowledge transfer to research and develop a new process for the disposal of animal carcasses. This does not rely on energy intensive incineration techniques and addresses potential health issues associated with biological material disposal. Microbiological safety, especially prions, was a focus so that remains could be safely returned to the environment. Project outcomes include: • Development of methodology for an environmentally sound alternative to incineration of agricultural animal carcasses, avoiding carbon dioxide production.

How affordable is credit insurance?
Chamber Credit Insurance safeguards your business against the failure of a customer to pay their trade credit debts. This situation can arise as a result of your customer becoming insolvent, or because your customer fails to pay within the agreed credit period.
The cost is directly linked to the risk to which your business is exposed and is related to the amount of turnover you wish to insure. It also varies according to the nature of your customers and where they are located, the trade sector in which you operate and the track record of your own business in credit management. ASK THE EXPERT |
Ask the expert: Workplace Mediation – workplace disputes cost more than just money Julie Clarke is a Director of Reachable Resolution, the mediation and employment law arm of Reachable Limited, the business consultancy based in Stamford. She is an accredited Mediator and holds the CILEx Professional Diploma in Employment Law and Practice.
Q A
What is workplace mediation?
It is a structured negotiation, with the aim of resolving workplace disputes whilst maintaining the productive working relationship between an employer and employee (or between two employees) that are in dispute. The employer has its clients and its reputation to consider and will always want a quick and clean resolution, hopefully maintaining the good staff they have worked so hard to find and train. The process is entirely voluntary and this is why it is so successful. More than 90 per cent of mediated disputes are resolved within a single working day.
Q A
We already have a grievance procedure, so why would we need mediation?
Mediation shouldn’t be used instead of the grievance procedure; it should be used before the grievance procedure. Almost all claimants going to employment tribunals had been through their company’s existing grievance procedure unsuccessfully. Essentially, however, the grievance procedure is overseen and controlled by the employer and is often not seen as sufficiently impartial by the employee. This is where an independent professional mediator adds
value (not just monetary) to the process and is often far more likely to achieve a long-term solution accepted by both parties.
Q
Ours is a small business and we’d like to keep our costs down. Is mediation expensive?
A
Many law firms offer a very good mediation service, but the legal route is not for everybody. Some small businesses find the costs prohibitive. Mediators cost less than solicitors, who can charge over £200 per hour. A good mediator will charge a flat daily rate, starting from around £400 (and most workplace mediations are resolved within a day), or a little more if they are legally trained. Use a recognised and respected professional body, such as the PMA (the Professional Mediators’ Association) to find one. Always remember that the cost of going to court or tribunal can run into many thousands!
Q
What does employment law say about the use of a Mediator?
“It is in everyone’s interest to avoid drawn out disputes which emotionally damage workers and financially damage businesses. That’s why we are encouraging quicker, simpler and cheaper alternatives like mediation” (Jonathan Djanogly, Justice Minister 2010-2011). An employment tribunal can increase or decrease the amount of a successful claim by 25 per cent if the ACAS Code of Practice has not been followed. They do expect all available measures to have been taken prior to a case coming before them.
Q
We don’t have workplace conflict issues at the moment, so what could a mediation service offer us?
A
That’s very good to hear, but did you know that you or your staff can be trained in mediation? It’s also good to know that if a conflict does arise, you will be prepared to deal with it quickly and prevent it from escalating to anything more serious, such as litigation. n
A
Employment law directs the use of the ACAS Code of Practice and in 2011 the Government made clear its intention to encourage the use of dispute resolution: CONNECTED SEPTEMBER 2014 | 25

Elisabeth Every Mayor of Ely and councillor Encouraging businesses to flourish, footfall to increase and students to prepare for making a good impression in the working world, Mayor of Ely Lis Every explains how she is using her role to shine a spotlight on her city for the benefit of everyone. WITH an eye-catching chain of office, and an official outfit with a ruffle and a robe for certain occasions, the Mayor of Ely captures attention. Lis Every took up the chain of office in May, after a year as deputy mayor, when a special mayor-making ceremony was held at Ely Cathedral’s Lady Chapel. In doing so, she joined a group of mayors she jokingly refers to as the ‘chain club’. The mayors support each other in different endeavors, from civic services to important events in each other’s district. Lis is tasked with chairing meetings of the City of Ely Council and representing the council at various events. Lis has been a City of Ely councillor for three years and

also serves on East Cambridgeshire District Council where she has represented the views of residents living in the Ely East ward since 2013.
It’s very much about bringing value. We are endorsing what companies and charities do. She has a wide and varied role, and as the mayor is often invited to attend functions and events as a VIP guest, to
support businesses in the community who want to mark special occasions, and charitable events. She said that while wearing her chain of office, many people are keen to have their photograph taken with her. The chain has all the names of the past mayors on it, so it gives each bearer the sense of their place in history linked to the post. “We try to get to every event that we can,” she explained. “It’s very much about bringing value. We are endorsing what companies and charities do and raising their profile. It’s fantastic the people that we meet. There are thousands of people in Ely doing good things. It’s also about going around talking to everybody and raising the profile of our local businesses.” As mayor, the events can be very varied. Lis explains: “I was recently at Ely Aquafest which is run by the two Rotary Clubs in Ely. It’s a good fun community day that raises money for charity, through a fun fare, different stalls for businesses and charity, two arenas providing entertainment, a raffle and of course the annual Raft Race. It’s a great event – the mayor takes part in the fun and goes up and down the River Ouse in a boat!” Lis has always had a focus on business as she was a secondary school teacher and taught business enterprise to the younger students and business and accounting to the upper end of the school before retiring in July 2013. This business emphasis continues as she chairs Ely City Centre Forum. The forum has gathered stakeholders from East Cambridgeshire District Council,
IN THE HOTSEAT |
City of Ely Council, traders and members of The City of Ely Perspective, stakeholders from the museum, Cathedral, Chamber and town centre organisations. Lis said their goal is to increase the number of people who shop and do business in Ely, making the city the destination of choice for locals and visitors alike.
We have pride in our city and it is about working together to increase the footfall “The idea is we are trying to increase the footfall in Ely. It is about making Ely as vibrant as possible. We have an action plan to which everybody has contributed. The initial phase is to get people to work together. We have already had a workshop and we are going to have two seminars a year. “We are very fortunate because we have the cathedral – if the cathedral has a big event, the town benefits. We have pride in our city and it is about working together to increase the footfall and make it good for tourists – as it is a big tourist attraction – and also to attract people in a 20 mile radius to make it a place where people come to Ely first, before they head off anywhere else.” Lis is also involved in a partnership between the school and businesses. Many Chamber members who are business people in the city are involved in a scheme
Open University Awards Ceremony at Ely Cathedral
in which sixth form students are offered a programme of mock interviews, to show the 16 and 17 year olds the type of things that employers seek in an interview for a new member of staff. “It was interesting because some of the students already had a good CV but it was a
proper exercise, it’s about making it come alive. We want to expand the numbers so we have more businesses involved in schools, work shadowing, interviews work experience and these type of activities.” It’s not just school students who are benefitting from business initiatives. Within East Cambridgeshire District Council where Lis is a councillor they have an apprenticeship programme that offers financial support to small businesses that take on apprentices. “It’s about joined up thinking,” adds Lis. n

Policy UPDATE Keeping you informed, representing local business
Global Network, Global Opportunities A recent British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) survey revealed that the majority of British businesses have ambitions to grow domestically, but fewer than half are planning to expand their business overseas. Even though more than half of current exporters report that within 12 months of exporting their profits increased.
British businesses have ambitions to grow domestically Currently, the most popular export markets are Europe and Asia although the high growth markets of Japan, Kuwait, Kazakhstan and Hungary are considered to provide the greatest opportunities for growth over the next five years. If the UK economy is to be rebalanced, more British businesses need to export – the Government’s objective is to double UK exports to £1 trillion and to increase the number of UK exporters by 100,000 by
2020. This seems a tall order as nearly half (48 per cent) of the businesses surveyed admitted to being ‘reactive’ exporters – only supplying overseas customers when they receive unsolicited orders. The majority of businesses said the most influential factors when considering exporting are the ease of finding customers, agents and distributors. The Chamber of Commerce network in partnership with UK Trade and Investment offer British businesses practical advice and support to connect them to overseas markets. The Chambers’ Overseas Business Network initiative (OBNi) helps UK SMEs do business in high-growth, hard to access markets by increasing the range of business-to-business support on offer and developing a host of useful contacts and practical resources in high-growth and emerging markets – to see the complete list of 41 markets visit the Chamber website: www.cambridgeshirechamber.co.uk UK businesses have a great reputation for providing world class services and the ‘Made in Britain’ brand has never been stronger for British manufacturers. We’ve got the builders in! WORK on creating a level and more welcoming entrance to Peterborough Cathedral began in August. This is the first phase of the major heritage and education project for which a £2.4 million Heritage Lottery grant has been awarded to the Cathedral. In due course new interpretation materials, to explain the Cathedral’s faith and history to visitors, will be installed and two buildings in the Cathedral Precincts will be conserved and refurbished to create a Heritage and Education Centre. n

Calendar could be a gift! WITH the help of Corporate Partners, PPS Print, the Cathedral has published a calendar featuring high quality photographs of this historic building. The calendar can be customised with company logos and contact details so that it can be used as a Christmas gift for clients. The proceeds from sales go towards the Peterborough 900 Campaign. Spotlight on history THE beautiful ceiling in the Apse Chapel at the east end of the Cathedral was designed by George Gilbert Scott. It replaced the original ceiling which had been damaged by Oliver Cromwell’s soldiers during the English Civil War. The design is based on a description of the original design. n

| SPECIAL REPORT
Report from Ian MacKellar
Don’t panic, Captain of industry – At least not yet! Ian Mackellar reports on the ECJ judgement A European Court of Justice (ECJ) judgment in May ruled that employees are entitled to have contractual commission payments that they would otherwise have earned accounted for in their holiday pay, even when they haven’t sold anything (by virtue of not having been at work). The court argued that failure to include such an incentive would discourage employees from going on holiday. This is complicated, but don’t go away yet – it could be important. The starting point is the European Working Time Directive of 1993, which was implemented into UK law by the Working Time Regulations 1998 and stipulated four weeks’ mandatory paid holiday for workers. (The law has since changed in the UK so that workers are now entitled to 28 days’ paid leave a year, which includes statutory holidays.) But the provisional ECJ ruling applies only to the four weeks laid down in the original directive and not to the additional 1.6 weeks a year required by UK domestic law. You can see where this is going!
34 | CONNECTED SEPTEMBER 2014
Also, UK law uses a 12-week reference period to determine the calculation on holiday pay for employees with significant elements of non-contractual earnings,
The ruling would increase annual staffing costs including commission and overtime – the latter the subject of a separate ECJ judgment. The European Court says that should be 12 months. Not only does that significantly change the dynamics of calculation, but companies could potentially face claims for back pay to 1998 if employees can show that there has been a chain of unlawful deductions. Further, employees and ex-employees may attempt to recover back pay by bringing a breach-of-contract claim, although the limitation period is six years in the UK civil
courts, says Claire Berry, employment law expert with Leeds Day solicitors. But even that could be a business-busting liability for firms that rely heavily on employees remunerated in that way. What’s more, companies could face additional bills from HMRC for unpaid income tax and NICs, although it would be extraordinary if the Revenue tried to impose late-payment penalties in the circumstances. The latest judgment stems from a request for clarification from the ECJ by an Employment Tribunal in Leicester that was considering a claim brought by an employee of British Gas who was aggrieved that sales commission was not taken into account in setting holiday pay. It will now be for the Tribunal to identify how that ruling should be made to fit with UK employment law. Whatever is decided, any final decision may take some time if there are further appeals or another referral to the ECJ, so don’t expect the final outcome this side of Christmas 2020. In any case, sovereign European governments have the right to

tell the Court that it has failed to consider national custom and practice and that it ought to go back to the top of the ladder or the bottom of the snake, depending on where you are starting from. What Vince Cable’s department says is this (though BIS declined to comment on this individual ruling): “The Government wants to get the right balance between the needs of employers and employees and does not believe voluntary overtime should be included in holiday pay or that large backdated claims should be allowed. “We understand the deep concern felt by many employers and will be intervening in the Employment Appeal Tribunal cases to make our views clear. It is unnecessary and inappropriate for the EU to lay down rules on points of such detail.” But Claire Berry insists that the ruling would increase annual staffing costs and companies could also face claims in relation to previously-underpaid holiday pay. “Until any final decision is made the majority of companies are taking a ‘wait and see’ approach, it is unclear how – if at all – holiday pay calculations will have to change. “However, it would be wise for companies to undertake an audit of their current arrangements at this stage, in particular to establish any potential financial exposure. “The issue of back-pay has led to
speculation that some employers may be forced out of business if settlements cannot be achieved. Others may have to restructure the way they work, so employers need to assess what their exposure could be,” she added. “Nonetheless, the legal process has a long way to go yet, so we just need to sit tight for the time being to see what the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeals Tribunal decide and where the legal process takes us from there.” n

First ever British Chamber of Commerce launches in Myanmar The UK has become the first country to launch a completely new, locally registered Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar. The role of the Chamber is to promote, foster, support and represent UK business interests in Myanmar – directly helping British firms identify market opportunities and providing them with a first port of call when looking to trade in that particular market. This is part of the wider Overseas Business Networks Initiative (OBNi) – an ongoing partnership between the British Chambers of Commerce, UK Trade and Investment and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The aim is to transform the support available for British SMEs looking to do business in high-growth, hard-to-access global markets. n

Four questions are the answer to better business writing Says Communications Sector member Kaye Coleman-Rooney. And the place to start is at the end. Your time is valuable. Your readers always have better things to do. Do yourselves both a favour: get clear in your own head exactly what action you want your customer or colleague to take as a direct result of what you’re writing. Otherwise, what’s the point?

Insight into occupiers property
35% of all British exports go to six European countries!
Simon Parsons BSc (Hons) MRICS, founder of Parsons Estate Consultancy, is delighted to be sharing practical advice and recommendations on how to assist companies, of all sizes, on the opportunity of reviewing their property at the forthcoming Peterborough Construction Networking lunch on Friday 19 September. The lunchtime event, sponsored by Parsons Estate Consultancy, will bring together a significant number of construction professionals and experts from the area. Simon will provide insightful knowledge and discuss, using a recently completed acquisition involving a multi-million pound investment. Through an excellent working partnership with the client, Parsons Estate Consultancy took a speculative idea to venture into new markets from inception to delivery. Talking through the various phases from the initial search and challenges along the way to the final negotiation stages, Simon will address common themes faced by occupiers. n
Remember BENELUX? Add GAS (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and you have the hard core of successful European countries still with strong, vibrant economies which take 35 per cent of our total exports. They also have a common business culture similar to our own and are collectively known as The Germanic Group (Yes - including England). On Wednesday 19 November the Chambers’ International Sector will take you on a tour of Germanic Europe. The key note address will be delivered by Ben De Smit of the Belgium Embassy who will present the benefits of a strategy approaching the Germanic group as an entity. Ben will be supported by experts on Holland and Germany plus a culture/language specialist who will address the common approach to business and interpersonal relationships. n Sponsored by:

10 year old Charity SORP is finally updated
Employment Tribunal fees –
After a considerable consultation period the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) for Charities 2005, which provided guidance to Charities on how to apply UK accounting standards, has been replaced with TWO new Charity SORPS with effect from 1 January 2015. The FRS102 SORP is for medium and large entities and the FRSSE SORP will be used by small entities as defined by the Companies Act 2006. Both versions have been split up in to ‘easy to read’ modules, with the key message being transparency and even more emphasis on impact reporting.
katharine Holliday from Buckles Solicitors answers.... From the outset of its time in government the Coalition has wanted to reduce costs and red tape for employers. One issue that it has sought to address is the number of spurious employment tribunal claims brought against businesses by disgruntled employees and ex-employees. With that background, as well as wanting to reduce the cost to the Treasury of running the tribunal system, on 31 July 2013 fees were introduced in employment tribunals for the very first time. Since that date, claimants have in most cases had to pay £250 to issue their claims and a further £950 once the claim has been listed for hearing. The impact of this? The number of tribunal claims issued since 31 July last year has fallen by up to 79 per cent. In the short term this can well be seen as good news for employers who are facing fewer claims than ever. In the long term though, it may turn out to be far less positive for businesses who let good employment practices slip and allow themselves to get into bad habits in the face of a reduced risk of litigation. A poorly treated workforce can be very bad news indeed for business. n
Key points for those preparing the financial statements of charities are: • Holiday pay should be accrued for FRS102 only • If possible, income from donated goods should be valued • The definition of heritage assets has changed • Any grants to institutions must be disclosed
good news for businesses?
• Related parties now include employees • The Trustees Report must be very clear about reserves policies • Governance Costs have been removed from the SoFA and ‘voluntary income’ will now be shown as ‘income from donations and legacies’. If you need more assistance there are some useful help sheets at www.charitysorp.org or you can call Toni Hunter at George Hay on 01480 426500. n

Innovation bridges gaps for business Product innovation is driving industry change as accounting software giants Sage look to adopt advances in cloud-based technology and bridge a significant gap for SME businesses. Traditionally, businesses who operate using a smaller accounting software package like Sage 50 have notoriously found the transition financially and functionally unviable when the need arises to upgrade to Sage 200 or similar. Fortunately for SME businesses, the introduction of Sage 200 Online delivers the solution, according to Kamarin Computers Managing Director Neil Bedford: “Sage 200 Online is perfect for larger SME’s. There’s no requirement to invest outright in an extensive IT infrastructure, instead customising the package required and paying monthly with the option to alter the plan as the business grows. “The Online version provides the same features and is available on mobile devices, giving users access on the road, increasing productivity and reducing the effects of absences”.
