Big Read Topeka

The Big Read wants you to read The Maltese Falcon in October. Inspire other people across Shawnee County to pick up this good book, attend a Big Read program, and talk about it. The Big Read brings communities together to read, discuss, and celebrate books and writers from American and world literature. Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library received the Big Read grant from the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest.

Bubble Homes and Fish Farts [grades 1–5]

Bubbling with facts and fun learn how fish use bubbles to hitch a ride, catch a breath, and make a home. Some creatures live in seawater and some live in fresh water (even with all the farting.)
