Though public spending on road construction is projected to increase by double digits again this year, contractors are cautious about this year’s business prospects. Given the continued challenges facing the construction industry in logistics logjams, labor shortages and rising interest rates, the overall mood is “decidedly mixed.” ARTBA reported that the public highway, pavement and street construction sector is expected to see doubledigit growth for the second year in a row.
