Ohio Valley Regional Oil & Gas Inaugural Expo Succesfully Opens
T
he inaugural Ohio Valley Regional Oil & Gas Expo opened with an evening reception on April 24 followed by a day-long event April 25 at the Belmont County Carnes Center in St. Clairsville, Ohio. The expo featured more than 150 vendors exhibiting equipment, products and services in indoor tabletop displays and an outdoor equipment display area. The event included educational conferences sessions such as an Ohio oil and gas industry overview conducted by Ohio Oil & Gas Association Treasurer Dave Hill, and talks by Christopher J. Perry, program manager, Energy Resource Group, Ohio Department of Natural Resources - Division of Geological Survey, and Robert Chase, Marietta College, Petroleum Engineering. The conferences closed with an update on Ohio’s oil and gas industry provided by Kristy Hawthorne, director of member services and small business development along with Steve Schumacher of the Ohio State (L-R): Ohio CAT’s Alan Rhodes, Rich Egnot, Bill Kuhar, Tom Seefried, Jim Harris, and Chuck Voorhees are eager to discuss Caterpillar equipment. University Extension. The Expo offered an opportunity for local and national companies to meet and interact with decision makers in the developing Utica and Marcellus supply chain. The event was free and open to the public and drew attendees from Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia involved with the extraction of energy resources from the Marcellus and Utica shale gas and oil reserves. he May 2 Myron Bowling Auctioneers’ auction in Middletown, Ohio, drew a large crowd of bidders to the auction site while attracting heavy online bidding as well. The auction was conducted for the closing of the SK Construction Company, a general contractor located in Middletown, Ohio. The sale included an assortment of con-
struction equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders and paving equipment, as well as the real estate assets of SK Construction Company. Highlights of the auction included a Komatsu PC 300LC excavator that sold for $102,000 and a pair of Cat D5G XL dozers brought in winning bids of $27,500 and $28,000. see SALE page 5
