Memorial Tournament at the Muirfield Village Golf Course near Columbus, Ohio, on May 30. The Hospitality House, situated on the seventh fairway of the course, provided a meeting place for area Ditch Witch customers, factory representatives and Ditch Witch of Ohio, Western Pennsylvania & Western New York representatives. Guests were treated to food and beverages and PGA badges so they could walk the course and catch their favorite golfers in action in the Memorial Tournament. When guests were not on the course, they spent time at the hospitality house discussing operations and equipment-based solutions with Ditch Witch personnel in an informal and relaxed setting. One of the year’s largest of the non-major events on the PGA Tour, the Memorial Tournament is hosted by tournament founder, Jack Nicklaus, and is held at Muirfield Village Golf Course, a course he designed. The invitational event matches up the previous year’s top 75 prize earners. Hideki Matsuyama took top honors in a forced playoff with a 10-ft. par putt on the first extra hole of the tournament. Ditch Witch of Ohio, Western Pennsylvania & Western New York is a full service dealership serving Ohio, western Pennsylvania and western New York with branches in Columbus, Ohio and Pittsburgh, Pa., and support centers in Cincinnati and Cleveland, Ohio and Rochester, N.Y. Ohio CAT Corporate Campus Groundbreaking Under Way Ohio CAT President Ken Taylor gave employees and guests a glimpse of the past when recounting his memories of the construction of the company’s existing corporate headquarters, which opened in 1971, and outlined a vision of the future as construction began with a ceremonial groundbreaking of the Phase 2 building project on May 28 at the company’s Broadview Heights facility. Headquartered in Broadview Heights, Ohio CAT has approximately 1,060 employees located throughout Ohio, northern Kentucky and southeastern Indiana, with more than 175 employees working at its Broadview Heights headquarters. Industry growth as well as new oil and gas related mar-
kets in Ohio have led to increased sales and employment, leading to the need for facility expansions and improvements company-wide. Phase 1 at the Broadview Heights facility, which was completed in October of 2013, provided an additional 6,500 sq. ft. (604 sq m) of space for the corporate technical training department, a condition monitoring and central dispatch center, and added offices. Phase 2 seeks to renovate and expand the 43-year-old existing corporate headquarters. With 22,000 sq. ft. (2,044 sq m) of renovation space and 34,000 sq. ft. (3,159 sq m) of expansion space, this project moves the company forward on a swell of anticipated Construction is part of a $75 million, multi-year facilities improvement program and it will be completed in February 2016.
growth and progress. Increased office space, coupled with more meeting spaces, is expected to increase employee satisfaction and improve collaboration. The addition will showcase a new leadership and professional development training center, a new equipment division sales and rental showroom and office area and new offices and meeting space for the company’s agriculture business division, also known as Ohio Ag Equipment. Sporting a sleek and modern façade, the “new” headquarters will feature improved lighting, furniture and fixtures while blending in with the architecture of the previously completed Phase 1 addition. To accommodate increased future employment needs, the project will double the employee work areas and increase the number of parking spaces. This is part of a $75 million, multi-year facilities improvement program and it will be completed in February 2016. Ohio CAT is the authorized Caterpillar dealer for Ohio, northern Kentucky, and southeastern Indiana and has been serving the equipment and power systems needs of local businesses since 1945. Ohio CAT’s Corporate Headquarters is one of 21 Ohio CAT locations and is located at 3993 East Royalton Road, Broadview Heights, Ohio. For more information, visit www.ohiocat.com. Highway Equipment Company Opens Canton Branch Highway Equipment Company, a long time equipment provider in western Pennsylvania with significant experience in serving oil and gas well development contractors, has moved into Ohio with a new branch in Canton. Al Springer, who conducted much of the site search, will serve as branch manager. The move to Ohio was driven in large part by an interest in serving established customers as they’ve expanded services into Ohio’s growing oil and gas well market, said Springer. Springer added that, rather than deal with the limitations of acquiring an existing building and adapting it, they’ve selected a site where they plan construction of their own purpose built structure designed specifically to meet their needs. The new facility will house office space, an extensive parts department and storage area and a fully equipped ten bay service center. Springer went on to explain that they were pleased to award the building contract to local Ohio contrac-

The new branch reflects the company’s long term commitment to the eastern Ohio markets, building on our 81 year heritage,” said Highway Equipment President Thomas Reynolds. Reynolds also recently announced a new online ordering of OEM original parts as well as a comprehensive aftermarket parts catalog, encouraging customers to check its online selection of parts, or call the office and speak to an aftermarket and rebuilt parts specialist. Established in 1933, Highway Equipment Company said
it has remained true to its core business philosophy that “Service is our best product.” Based in Zelienople, Pa., along with its new facility in Canton, Ohio, the company has branches in Dubois and McKean, Pa., and owns Machinery Rental Company, based in Pittsburgh. The company provides sales, rentals, parts and service to construction, landscaping, demolition, oil and gas, mining, quarrying, and industrial material-handling machinery markets.
