Colorado Roof Toppers Earns Esteemed 2014 Angie’s List Super Service Award Award reflects company’s consistently high level of customer service

Colorado Roof Toppers has earned the service industry’s coveted Angie’s List Super Service Award, reflecting an exemplary year of service provided to members of the local services marketplace and consumer review site in 2014. “We would like to thank our amazing crew for their constant commitment to quality and attention to detail. We are a small family owned roofing company located in Mead, CO and Scott and I supervise every job. We know that our constant focus on making our customers happy, is what has won us this award.” said Denise Bart, Co-owner of Colorado Roof Toppers. “Only about 5 percent of the roofing companies in Northern Colorado have performed so consistently well enough to earn our Super Service Award,” said Angie’s List Founder Angie Hicks. “It’s a really high standard.” Angie’s List Super Service Award 2014 winners have met strict eligibility requirements, which include an “A” rating in overall grade, recent grade, and review period grade; the company must be in good standing with Angie’s List, pass a background check and abide by Angie’s List operational guidelines. Service company ratings are updated daily on Angie’s List. Companies are graded on an A through F scale in areas ranging from price to professionalism to punctuality. Members can find the 2014 Super Service Certification logo next to company names in search results on AngiesList.com.

The Road to Graduation 2015: Time Line and Countdown! Mead High School - Class of 2015 Congratulations Seniors! MEAD MAYOR, GARY SHIELDS  I hope that you have all been enjoying the wonderful weather that we have been having lately, I know that I have but at this point I am trying to remain optimistic that March and April will bring some much needed precipitation. As you know, it is not unusual to get the majority of our seasonal snowfall during these months. Needless to say, it will be welcomed when it comes and missed this summer if it does not.  I know that the favorable weather has certainly helped us to get a head start on this year’s town projects and I am happy to report that the Town Board has taken full advantage of the opportunity. I have provided a quick run-down of a few projects that are currently underway.  Park Improvements – Work at the Liberty Ranch Park will begin in the next couple of weeks. Improvements at Liberty will include the addition of tennis court, basketball court, covered picnic area, trails and landscaping. Repairs and improvements will be made to the North Creek Park, these efforts include the removal and/or replacement of damaged equipment and replacement of ground cover. The Parks and Recreation committee is in process of visiting all of our community parks and making improvement recommendations to the town board.

 Area Trails Project – The trails project along WCR 7 between Welker Ave and Adams Ave will start back up in the coming weeks and will be completed in short order, weather permitting. In addition to this portion of trail, the town has been awarded a CDOT (Colorado Department of Transportation). grant to continue the trail South of Adams Ave to approximately the Hunter’s Cove entrance. The process has already begun on this new portion of the trail and we are trying to time it to run concurrently with the completion of the AdamsWelker project.  Visioning Process – The town board held two work sessions during the month of February that have set us on our way in the visioning process, they were the open house session on 2/4 and the land use workshop on 2/9. Going forward, we will hold a series of interactive meetings with town residents and community stakeholders in order to clearly define the vision statement and its implementation as an action plan. Your participation in this process is appreciated and encouraged, for more information please contact the Town Hall @ 970-535-4477.  As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.  Sincerely, Gary R. Shields, Mayor Town of Mead, Colorado

United Way Of Weld County Campaign Running Short Of $3.4 Million Goal, But Campaign Chairwoman Confident Goal Will Be Met

United Way of Weld County has raised $2.382 million during its 2014-15 campaign, but projections are tracking $200,000 short of its $3.4 million goal. Reaching the lofty goal of $3.4 million will enable United Way of Weld County to continue to help increase services and programs for Weld County residents of all ages. The United Way of Weld County finds itself in a unique situation when it comes to the current campaign because of the financial assistance it provided during the 2013 flood. I was fortunate to witness United Way of Weld County’s tremendous response in assisting those impacted by the 2013 flood. Now it’s time to get back on track in meeting the community’s needs. In the same way United Way of Weld County dug deep into its reserves during the flood, we’re asking the community to do the same for the benefit and future of Weld County residents. In 2013-14, $2 million from the annual campaign went toward people who were impacted by the flood. It will take a financial commitment from individuals and businesses to help reach the current campaign goal. Of the money raised so far, the Monfort Family Foundation recently donated $610,000 toward the campaign. It’s still not too late to donate. The campaign still has five months until it ends. The community campaign is a year-long process with generous donors who give what they can. Every dollar helps to meet the needs of our community. What does donating to United Way of Weld County do for our community? One out of four Weld County citizens will use a United Way funded program or service this year. Reaching the $3.4 million goal is extremely important for those residents who depend on the services and programs that United Way of Weld County and its partners provide. Ninety-nine agency programs are currently supported through United Way of Weld County. Those agency programs include: community impact fund (39), youth allocations committee (18), emergency food and shelter program (13), recreation scholarships (12), VISTA (14), special grants and other - Jefferson High School Child Care, MedAid Prescription Assistance, Weld County Foster Youth Nutrition Program (3). This community has an opportunity to impact the future of Weld County – now. Meeting the 2014-2015 campaign goal means we have all come together to make an investment in the future of this community, The needs that United Way of Weld County and its partners meet impact the lives of people who live and work in Weld County, and the needs met today will make for a better and brighter tomorrow. I am confident that we can meet this year’s goal and ask that if you haven't given, or want to give a little bit more, call the United Way of Weld County office or make a donation on our website. To donate to the campaign, please call (970) 353-4300 or visit www.unitedway-weld.org and click on the green donate button in the upper righthand corner of the home page. Samantha Hageman is the campaign chairwoman and a member of the board of directors for United Way of Weld County. She is employed as the controller for Professional Finance Company, Inc., in Greeley.

The monthly Board meetings will be hosted at Ranchero's on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. In March, the Mead Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding a board election. Our current President, Dina James' tenure will be over, which means this is an important election. There are a number of board positions available including, President, Vice-President, Treasurer/Secretary, as well as general board members. While Dina will remain past President, this also means that a new board will bring new life to the Chamber and our community. Being a M.A.C.C. Board member is an extremely rewarding and enjoyable experience. Board members help to make decisions regarding the direction the Chamber will take, prospective collaboration with the Town of Mead and other organizations, and so much more. If you want to bring new events and ideas to our community, but are unsure of how to go about doing so, joining the Chamber board might be a great move.  March 17th – Digital Media for Small Business Seminar (Presented by Bullzi Media) @ Mead Town Hall (1:00 – 2:30 p.m.)

Summer Festival 2015 The Mead Area Chamber of Commerce is once again in the process of organizing the 2015 Mead Summer Festival. Last year regardless of the cold and rain, the Summer Festival was a huge success and a wonderful time for local businesses and residents. This coming year we hope to make it even better than in the past. As with every new event there is a lot of trial and error. So there will be a few changes from the Summer Festival last year, the biggest one being that we will be limiting the number of Food Trucks and slots per type of food vendor available. Food vendors will need to have entry forms completed and mailed back to the Mead Area Chamber of Commerce, no later than April 30th, 2015. Entry forms will be available on the Chamber website www.meadchamberofcommerce.com beginning January 15th. All other vendor forms must be mailed to the Chamber by May 15th, 2015. For more information about the 2015 Mead Summer Festival, being a vendor or volunteering, please contact Tiffany Holcomb at tiffany@meadchamberofcommerce. com .
