Asia focus in 2022
We have many fantastic liveaction series, like Malory Towers and Ruby & The Well, that I would love to find the right home for. We’re also excited that WarnerMedia Kids & Family has greenlit a new version of our award-winning franchise Degrassi for HBO Max in the U.S., which is expected to launch in 2023 and that we’ll also be distributing worldwide.”

Trends & Outlook 2022
“I expect there’ll be increased focus on local content. We’re making this a key part of our strategy in Asia by collaborating with local producers, such as 5Bricks to take its Tata & Kuma Tata and Kuma series to market. We’ve also partnered with iQIYI for Jonny Jetboy, an actionpacked kids’ series from Keith Chapman (PAW Patrol, Bob the Builder). The series will be produced by iQIYI, with WildBrain supervising development and production, and we’ll also handle global distribution and licensing business outside Greater China.
Jonny Jetboy marks the first global partnership for original China IP struck Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City by our dedicated China team, which is focused on bringing new content and brand experiences to kids and families within and outside China.
I also anticipate we’ll see more dynamic and agile partnerships. As such, we’re already exploring fresh ways of collaborating, such as on the fourth instalment of The Deep, a co-production with Australia’s A Stark Production and Snoopy in Space Singapore’s Infinite Studios, which has been put together with the support of partners, including Mediacorp, Super RTL, BBC, Family Channel and ABC.
Iconic brands will continue being a major driver as having a built-in audience can help draw attention. Being home to iconic brands, such as Peanuts, Strawberry Shortcake, Inspector Gadget, Sonic, Fireman Sam, Polly Pocket and Teletubbies, gives us flexibility to offer great series that fit our partners’ evolving demands.” – Jennifer Oppenheimer, Sales Manager, Distribution, Asia-Pacific
