NBCUniversal Global Distribution is responsible for licensing NBCUniversal product to all forms of television and new media in the U.S., Canada and in 200+ territories internationally. This includes a rich library of over 6,000 films and 170,000 television episodes, including current and classic titles, unscripted, kids, sports, news, long-form and short-form programming from Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Universal Television, UCP, Universal International Studios, Sky Studios, NBC Late Night properties, DreamWorks Animation, Telemundo, and more, as well as locally produced content from around the world.

Production

NBCUniversal Formats is the international division for all scripted and unscripted formats created within the production, broadcast and streaming divisions of NBCUniversal, Telemundo and Sky Studios, as well as select third parties. The division, which is part of Universal Studio Group, recently acquired the Korean format My Ranking from di Turn to distribute across Asia. This year will see the return of SNL Korea on Coupang Play, as well as hit formats Baggage, Crush and Singer Auction in Vietnam. Hollywood Game Night is also coming back for a sixth season in Thailand. The rollout of NBCUniversal Formats’ Japanese co-production project, The Secret Game Show, will also be a priority.

The Thing About Pam

The Thing About Pam is based on the 2011 murder of Betsy Faria that resulted in her husband Russ’s conviction, although he insisted he didn’t kill her. He was later exonerated. This brutal crime set off a chain of events that would expose a diabolical scheme deeply involving Pam Hupp.

Asia focus in 2022

Our primary focus in Asia in 2022 is to make our partners aware of all of the amazing content we have to offer from our Kids & Family catalogue, with full linear and SVOD/AVOD rights available for many of the titles. Our Kids & Family portfolio has titles based on iconic IP like Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, Dragons: The Nine Realms, The Croods: Family Tree and Madagascar: A Little Wild. But we also have new, original properties creating their own legions of fans around the globe, including Take Note, which is a live-action, scripted musical-comedy talent show that is truly different from anything we’ve ever seen before, and the hugely popular Gabby’s Dollhouse; its live action-animated hybrid style is a first for DreamWorks Animation and it’s taking the world by storm with its magical and adorable world of cat characters.”
