Here are fundamentals of SEO that you should focus on most: Choose low competition keywords One of the top fundamentals for solid SEO is to make sure that you choose low competition keywords. If your keywords that you are targeting are high competition keywords then that will make it much more difficult to rank in the search engines. Always be on the lookout for low competition keywords you when using Google keyword tool. This will ensure that you have a much better chance of ranking in the Google. Include the keyword in the URL You’ll want to always aim to have the keyword included in the URL of the page. This will make it much easier for the search engines to know what the article or page is about. This will greatly increase the chances of them ranking it for that keyword. Include the keyword one time in the H1 tag. Include the keyword in one of the H1 tags on the page. All this means is that you want to include the keyword in a large header. The search engines tend to give this more weight when they are weighing the strength of the keyword on your page. Make sure the keyword makes up no more than 2% of all words on the page

It’s important that you do not include the keyword on a page more than 2% of the time. If you have a particular keyword showing as 5% of the words on a page then the search engines will rank that under keyword stuffing and they will be likely to punish or deindex that page. Link out to other pages on your site Link out to other sites from your pages. The search engines love it whenever you link out to other websites. It is also great because many of the sites you link to a link back to you so you get free back links. Back links are probably the strongest thing for ranking a page online.
