Every Light Tells Its Own Story Our lighting range has given traditional hand-blown glass a whole new lease of life. By keeping colour and form at the very heart of their appeal, the pure beauty of the glass itself is allowed to shine through. Every light tells its own story. Look closely and you can almost trace the hand that made them in the sweeps, the swirls, the tiny air bubbles - those small, delightful testaments of technique which makes our lights so special. Our service really is unique as well. As each light is individually free-blown to order in the UK, without the use of moulds, we can offer our customers an endless choice of colour, shape and size. Formed in 2010 by designer and founder, Esther Patterson, we have worked with numerous architects, stylists and interior designers, as well as hundreds of direct customers, gaining nominations and awards along the way. Our list of clients include Jamie Oliver, Harvey Nichols and the Royal Albert Hall, and retail a select range through Liberty London. 5

THE COLLECTION Charlotte Chandelier Curiousa & Curiousa have a history of naming our light-pieces after those who helped inspire them, but that list doesn’t normally include royalty. However, this design was being finalised on the same day the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to her second child, and so the Charlotte Chandelier was born. Four hand-blown glass pendants are suspended in an eclectic, playful cascade yet the colours reflect the calmness of autumnal afternoons: still warm with the blush of summer with golden globes and dusky greys as the evening shadows draw in.

Decadence Tassel Light (Opposite page) The popularity of the Tassel Light range led Esther to push the scale to a new level, creating a dramatic, decadent centrepiece - the Decadence Tassel Light. Taking inspiration from the glamour and glitz of the 1920s, each light features a hand-woven and dip-dyed tassel influenced by the flapper dresses of the period. Esther explains: “I’ve always loved the 20s style, not just the dresses, the literature and the art, but also the social changes which saw such a new liberation for women which was reflected in the lavish, sophisticated designs. I hope the fluidity and grace of this light captures some of that optimism, that determination to enjoy life.” 6

Pear Drops These three new pendant shapes, retailing exclusively in Liberty London, are paired with antique filament bulbs and are designed to work as stand-alone pieces, but come alive when set together. As every piece is designed and hand-blown to order in the UK, any colour combination can be chosen from our range of 22 colours.

Trumpets (Opposite page) These rather eccentric lights were inspired by antique brass trumpets and loud hailers. Create a loud statement with these modern, dynamic, large scale pieces. 8

Curiousa & Curiousa have enjoyed a close relationship with Liberty London ever since Estherâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s designs were selected as part of their Best of British Design Open Call in 2010. Our lights can be seen shining in their fourth floor home lighting department and all our glass lights on display can be ordered in any of our 22 colours. In 2015 Esther has been styling our range of small pendants to compliment Liberty Londonâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s range of sumptuous wallpapers. 10
