September 2019

I’ve missed 3,000 shots. Twenty-six times the game-winning shot has been trusted to me, and I’ve missed. I’ve lost over 300 games. I’ve failed over and over and over again, and that is why I have succeeded. —Michael Jordan

Wednesday 1. To feel or show esteem for; to honor. 2. To show consideration for; treat with deference.

Whom do you respect? Generally, we respect people who are continuously kind and courteous to us. We respect friends who will stand up for us. They are people we enjoy being around because they are fun and consistently fair with everyone. Think about the people you feel relaxed with and respectful of.

Why do you respect these people? 1.

What do you respect? Respect the property of others as well as your own. If you borrow something from a friend, treat it as though it was yours. Keeping promises shows respect also. If you promise a friend something, do it. Not only will you be showing respect, but this is how you gain respect.

Why do you respect certain things? 1.

Be proud of who you are. You are individually made. You are unique. Think about times when you performed good deeds. Think about how that made other people feel, particularly if you helped them. That's your accomplishment. How goal:

about the times when you tried something new, and it did not quite work out the way you thought it would? Don't worry about it. Learn something from it, and then the next time you try it, you will be better prepared. Comparing yourself to others is both good and bad. It’s good when it lifts you up, but bad when it beats you down. Remember, your talents are not like anybody else’s talents, and theirs aren't like yours. If you are trying your best, that's what counts.

notes:

Take pride in what you do well, and take pride in the work you are exhibiting in your attempt to learn a new task. No one knows how to do everything. Remember, what is inside you is more important than anything materialistic.
