O say, can you see, By the dawn’s early light, What so proudly we hailed At the twilight’s last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars Through the perilous fight, O’er the ramparts we watched Were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, The bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night That our flag was still there. O say, does that star-spangled Banner yet wave O’er the land of the free And the home of the brave?
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, And to the Republic for which it stands, One Nation under God, indivisible, With liberty and justice for all.
The first day of school can be scary, whether you have gone to this school before or are brand new. Here are a few steps that can make it a little easier. This is what you can do if you are brand new to the school.
1. Smile—smiles are warm. Remember, everyone is nervous.
2. Say hello. Smiles and hellos are great icebreakers.
3. Ask if any other students are new.
4. Be excited about your new school.
5. Try not to compare it to your old school.
This is what you can do to make a new student welcome.
1. Say hi to a new student.
2. Ask a new student to sit with you at lunch. 3. Include a new student on the playground. 4. When saying good-bye to your friends at the end of the day, remember to include your new friend.

How can I prevent bullying?
Don’t fight back. It can be dangerous. Stay alert when a bully is near. Stick together. Ignore the bully. Walk away.
Find and tell a parent, teacher or another adult. Don’t spread rumors. It will make things worse.
