FACT:
The younger you are when you start drinking, the greater your chances of becoming addicted to alcohol at some point in your life. More than 4 in 10 people who begin drinking before 15 eventually become alcoholics. PARENT/ GUARDIAN:

ee p rpressure Know p ee be affe r pressure is cted by out the r it and prepar e, know you e yours will elf for it.
what can you do? 1. Think about your decisions. Remember that there are consequences for all your decisions. It might make the decision process easier if you think about the consequences. 2. Make a plan — know what you are going to do. Have an excuse ready for that moment when someone asks you to do something that may result in a negative consequence. Learn to say no! 3. Be confident with your excuses. Be honest with your excuses. Respond honestly and don’t be afraid to say that this idea might not be the best, safest or logical idea. Suggest something else. 4. Know how you will react. Be confident with your decisions. Remember, it’s yours and only yours. If you don’t want to be involved in something wrong, don’t go there. Your decision may be a positive influence on a friend.
THERE IS NOT JUST NEGATIVE PEER PRESSURE. THERE IS POSITIVE PEER PRESSURE THAT IS EXTREMELY BENEFICIAL.
how and when? 1. When a friend is encouraging you to try out for a play, a sport or just something you really want. 2. When a friend keeps you from breaking the law. Like drinking when you are under 21 years of age. Or using illicit drugs or prescription drugs that are not prescribed for you. 3. When a friend just keeps you from doing something stupid that may cause you a great deal of embarrassment.
What kind of peer pressure do you hand out? 56
EDUCATION = FUTURE
useyourvalues Your values and life rules should guide your decisions and help you do the right thing. Remember, every decision has a consequence ... and you are accountable. If you use your values, your decisions should fit with the kind of person you want to be. Circle the following words in the word search:
