IT’S NOT a good time to be a Man. United fan, readers – they’ve lost three of their past four games, they’re playing a stinky style of football and now top scorer Marcus Rashford is out injured. D’oh! With their top four chances hanging in the balance they need to act fast – but which star striker can save their UCL hopes? 2

IT’S CHEEKY, it’s silly – but Barcelona want to LOAN Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang until the end of the season to cover for the injured Luis Suarez! But wait, it gets madder – we’re hearing their plan is to then DITCH Auba in the summer and sign Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez. It’s a crazy plot, but January is a crazy month. It just might work – and here’s why!
? N E P A H T WILL I PAZ SAYS: AUBAME YES! Q Auba is just what Barca need! Q He can play in the Champions League! Q With just 18 months left on his deal, Arsenal need to keep Auba sweet! Q Wouldn’t you want to play with Messi?

PLEASE? Experienced. Talented. Goals guaranteed. Great hair. Will anyone sign Cavani? EDINSON CAVANI – a proven striker who scores all types of goals at the highest level – is available to sign right now! But he could end up stuck at PSG after the transfer window slams shut on Friday. Clubs are being put off by the big piles of cash needed to do the deal, plus PSG want to keep hold of Cavani as back-up to Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Mauro Icardi!
THE RACE TO SIGN CAVANI! 1ST ATLETICO MADRID 2ND CHELSEA 3RD TOTTENHAM 4TH MAN. UNITED THE HURDLES!
Come on, guys – sign me up!
Q Cavani is on huge wages that only a few mega clubs can afford! Q Has a groin injury so lacks fitness! Q Even though he’s out of contract in the summer, a club will still have to pay £20-30m to get him now! Q Time is running out to finalise a massive deal like this before the transfer window closes! Q PSG might need him in the second half of the season if there are injuries!

WOW! TALK ABOUT an entrance! Borussia Dortmund’s new signing Erling Haaland needed just THREE minutes to score his first goal for the club – and 20 minutes later he had his first HAT-TRICK. The 19-year-old, who rejected Man. United to sign from RB Salzburg for just £17m, was thrown on in the 56th minute with his team 3-1 down, but his quick-fire treble turned the game into a 5-3 win!

EARLIER THIS month the Utilita Girls Cup area finals took place. Participating schools, each representing their local Football League clubs, were split into eight geographic areas and took to the pitch. Each team was battling to claim one of eight regional final places up for – four for the north and four for the south! 32
The standard of play was unreal – there were standout performances up and down the country and some very closely contested matches. The eight Utilita Girls Cup area final winners now go through to north and south regional finals – this will reduce the competition to two teams that will then meet in the grand final before the Leasing.com Trophy final at Wembley Stadium on 5 April 2020!

THIS WEEK: MINDSET!

Bad situations can be good – here’s how to adjust the way you look at things in footy!
1 HEAVY DEFEAT! THE NEGATIVE: Your team loses 5-0 THE POSITIVE: A thrashing can actually prove to be very helpful – it makes all of your team’s weaknesses really obvious so you’re able to identify them, work on improving them and become a better team!
SOUTHAMPTON LOST 9-0 to Leicester back in October, but worked on their weaknesses and beat The Foxes in the reverse fixture 2-1 earlier this month!
Tekkers Elite skills advice with MOTD expert Stobbsy! 3 RED CARD!
THE NEGATIVE: Getting sent off THE POSITIVE: Use the experience as a way to learn the limits of the game. Getting a red card can teach you exactly where the line is, so review what you did wrong and, hopefully, it shouldn’t happen again!
2 NOT SCOUTED! THE NEGATIVE: Your friend gets picked over you THE POSITIVE: This is the perfect chance to exercise your motivational skills. Help them feel confident, encourage them and send positive vibes. They’ll appreciate it and help you one day when you really need it!
50
4 SHOT FAIL! THE NEGATIVE: Missed a chance THE POSITIVE: The very fact that you were in the position to take the chance means your movement is on point. Exercise your resilience, forget the missed chance and look forward to the next one. Even the best miss!
THE INTERVIEW Shkodran Mustafi has had more criticism
than most players, but his mental strength keeps him focused. Check out our analysis!
MUSTAFI SAYS: “What’s the main advice I have for anyone receiving criticism? Listen to those closest to you – they’ll always tell you the truth!” MUSTAFI SAYS: “When you start off so well, it’s hard not to get carried away. But you shouldn’t think, ‘Now everything’s going to be easy!’ ’” THE LESSON
Just coz you’re winning a game, it doesn’t mean you should stop working hard. Keep standards high and continue to grow! MUSTAFI SAYS: “As a defender, every mistake can lead to a goal. You become nervous as you don’t want to make an error!” THE LESSON
This proves that even pros get nervous, so don’t feel isolated because you have butterflies before a game. All it shows is that you care about the team!
MUSTAFI SAYS: “When things aren’t going well, you don’t like the stuff you read. You’ve just got to take all that energy and use it to help you in training!” THE LESSON
Shkodran often has people being critical of his displays. Rather than biting back at critics, focus YOUR energy on improving yourself to silence them!
THE LESSON
Mustafi doesn’t let anyone he doesn’t know affect his mindset. He shuts them out and takes the advice from his family and friends – they know you best! MUSTAFI SAYS: “This season I’ve been playing mainly in the cups, so I’ve focused on doing my job and being ready for the team when they need me!” THE LESSON
The 27-year-old has accepted he’s lost his place in the first team. Rather than just give up, adjust your thinking and try to impress in the games you play!
MUSTAFI SAYS: “It’s the only way we’re going to improve. It’s not a time to point fingers at each other, we have to work together to bounce back!” THE LESSON
When your team is facing difficulty, you must stick together, fight through any hurdles and motivate each other to get out of the situation! For more Arsenal interviews, head to arsenal.com

Four ways to take your team to new heights!
JAKE SAYS Football Manager is one of those games that requires time and patience but it’s worth it. Trust us!
Level up with MOTD’s expert Jake! BUY SMART!
Just coz a player like Christian Eriksen may be available cheap it doesn’t mean he’s what you need. Only bring in players who will improve the team!
LOOK CLOSE!
Check stats closely before buying. Strikers need to have high Finishing, but also good Composure and Off The Ball – like Krzysztof Piatek!
CHANGE IT!
Mix up your formation and tactics. You might like to use 4-2-3-1, but have another set-up, like a 5-3-2, up your sleeve to keep the oppo guessing!
54
SAVE UP!
It’s easy to waste money, so haggle over contracts and make smart moves – why buy Jadon Sancho for £80m when Dani Olmo could cost £20m?
