Even so, a source tells Star, they accepted her apology for making them look uncaring. “She didn’t ask them to be there!” says the source. “They didn’t blame Caitlyn, but she could have said something on the show so it didn’t appear she had no support at all.” The family reunited for their annual Christmas Eve bash, where, says the source, Khloé and Cait chatted. “No deep conversation,” clarifies the source, “but it was very cordial — they hugged and kissed and wished each other the best.” And, says the source, the two are at peace. “Khloé might be the most distant daughter, but that’s because she’s very protective of Kris and wasn’t happy with Caitlyn trashing her mom in her memoir,” says the insider. “But they don’t hate each other.” Caitlyn, whose 2015 transition rocked her reality-show-star fam, has called her Down Under jungle experience “an opportunity to reflect on things.” Still, says the source, she didn’t overthink whether her mea culpa would get a friendly reception. “She’s made many mistakes in the parenting department,” says the source. “She gets it. n the last chapter of a sad story, Nick Gordon was declared dead in a Florida hospital in the early hours of Jan 1. “My heart sunk when I heard the news,” Randall M. Kessler, the 30-yearold’s attorney, tells Star. “This is a tragic ending to Nick’s troubled life.” The cause of death wasn’t released, pending toxicology screens for drugs and alcohol as well as other tests. In 2015, Nick had been dating Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, when she was found unresponsive in the bathtub at her home in Atlanta. Bobbi Kristina was placed in a medically induced coma and died six months later. “Until Bobbi Kristina passed, he had a true partner,” Kessler tells Star. “And I don’t think he ever recovered, or ever would have recovered, from her loss.” At the time, Bobbi Kristina’s conservator filed a $50 million civil lawsuit alleging that “Ms. Brown died due to a violent altercation with [Gordon] after which he placed her in a bathtub, unconscious, after he injected her with a toxic mixture.” (He was never criminally charged.) Nick, who was ordered to pay $36 million in damages, denied the claims. In 2018, he was arrested following a domestic violence incident with then-girlfriend Laura Leal. Nick famously had an intervention with Dr. Phil in 2015, during which he stormed off stage. The following year he returned, taking credit for being a rock for both Bobbi Kristina and her late mother. “Regardless of what everybody thinks,” he said, “I made Krissy and Whitney’s last few years on earth as happy as they would be. I gave them somebody to trust, to talk to, to be there — someone genuine.” ★

Two days after Christmas, the power couple headed straight to their daughter Kaia’s New York City apartment to confront her boyfriend of two months, Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson. After having a manto-man conversation upstairs with the comedian, an emotional Rande was seen outside Kaia’s building relaying what had happened to his wife, who listened with a shocked look on her face. Reports quickly surfaced saying that Rande and Cindy had staged an intervention with Pete over concerns about his mental health. But an insider exclusively tells Star they were there to confront him about Kaia, and their fears that the 18-year-old model is planning to secretly marry Pete, 26. “They heard the couple want to elope,” says the source. “They were heartbroken and sprang into action, and some heated words were exchanged.” Even more troubling: “Kaia’s friends and family are terrified she’s going to wind up pregnant,” the source adds, and baby news is the last thing Cindy and Rande want to hear. “It’s everyone’s worst nightmare!” Things have been hot and heavy between Kaia and Pete since they were first spotted on a date in October. A Berry Royal Christmas and prepping for the holidays with Prince George, 6, Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince Louis, 20 months, Kate rarely had time for proper meals, says the insider. “To be fair, she tries to start her day with a hearty breakfast, typically consisting of eggs and fruit juice,” says the source, “but oftentimes she’s rushed and will fly out the door with just a slice of toast and a cup of black coffee.” And after those busy mornings getting herself and the children ready for the day, the source adds, “Kate’s running to her public appearances or meetings at Buckingham Palace,” forcing her to grab on-the-go lunches as well. “She’ll generally ask an aide to bring her a salad, which she’ll nibble, along with some nuts or dried fruit.” When members of her circle voice concern, says the source, “Kate will insist she gets her nutrients in other ways. For instance, after each daily cardio session, she’ll treat herself to an energy bar or a protein shake to keep her energy level up.” Her steadfast devotion to those workouts has more than just William concerned. “Kate’s always been naturally slender, but she’s getting thinner and thinner as the years go by,” says the source. “It’s shocking for the whole family to witness — not just William.” WHOA, BABY With the parents of three hoping to expand their family, the insider says William’s even more determined to help Kate put on some weight. On Dec. 2, the 51-year-old former Baywatch star turned heads as she made her way into the Immortal Beauty Pop Up in L.A. looking better than ever before. Her secret? The actress just went under the knife for a little nip and tuck! Donna’s plastic surgery journey began in late 2018. “That’s when I first started to notice loose skin on my face and neck — even my eyes were getting hooded,” she tells Star. “I didn’t like it.” Having a TV career, Donna was acutely aware of the pressure to maintain her youthful appearance. “I would see pictures of myself on the red carpet and would zoom in on my face and nitpick,” she reveals. After a year of this selfinflicted torment, Donna decided it was time for a makeover. To help her turn back the clock, she sought out renowned Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Harrison Lee, who performed Caitlyn Jenner’s facial feminization surgery.
