The master scone baker and monthly Sconetime organiser has received an award at the Annual Sunshine Coast Senior Leadership Awards sponsored by Home Care Assistance Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay.

Martin said that he is very grateful to be the recipient of this award.

“These awards acknowledge businesses whose work and dedicated service help improve the quality of life for our senior community.

“I am very grateful for receiving recognition and an award for my work in tackling loneliness and bringing joy to the senior community through Sconetime.”

Every second Tuesday of the month, Martin, along with his bevvy of wonderful volunteers, hosts Sconetime at Cooroy Memorial Hall.

“Sconetime creates meaningful community connections, where seniors in our community come together with family, friends and local business owners, for hot, fresh scones loaded with homemade jam and freshly whipped cream.”

A very worthy winner, congratulations Martin!
