DEATHS

MacKellar – Olive Fanny of Pomona. Born in Pomona Hospital in 1927, passed away peacefully on 2 Dec 2022. Olive was married to Lionel (dec); mother to Kay, Chrissie and Desmond and grandmother to 5. She lived in Station Rd, Pomona since 1973. Olive was a keen sportswoman enjoying tennis and hockey and was also a keen bowler at Pomona Bowls Club where she was president for many years. She also was an avid contributor to the Noosa Show Society, winning many baking competitions. Olive’s funeral was held on Sat 17th Dec. Pringle – Noel passed away peacefully in his home in Cooroy on 2nd Nov 2022, 49 days before his 100th birthday. He was a WW2 soldier in NZ, Egypt, Italy and Japan before coming to live in Australia in 1948 with his wife Dorothy. He has 4 daughters, 17 grandchildren, countless great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild. Noel was a member of the local Probus Club, The Masonic Lodge, Meals on Wheels, and played tennis until he was 92. Memorial service to be held on Friday 23 Dec at the Anglican Church, Miva Street, Cooroy at 10am. All welcome. Howie – Patricia Littley (Trish) born 24 May 1926, passed away 20 Nov 2022 aged 96. Trish lived locally for many years in Kin Kin, Cooran and Pomona. She was a regular contributor to many lucky locals who enjoyed her ‘heart of gold’, her wonderful homemade chocolate cakes and her contributions to the community. She was a celebrated artist and held her exhibition at the Pomona Railway Gallery where she could often be seen tending the gardens. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at The Majestic Theatre Pomona on Wed 21 Dec at 2pm. Trish has requested in lieu of flowers, please plant something in your garden for her. Miller – Ross passed away on 4 Dec 2022. Beloved husband of Rita, father of Gary and Karen Marriott, brother to Coral, grandfather of 6 and great-grandfather of 4. Ross was a wonderful part of the community and was dearly loved by all who knew him. He will be sadly missed.
