Tahltan red chris community survey 1

Page 1

Survey: Our Nation’s thoughts on the Red Chris mine Imperial Metals’ Red Chris mine is due to open in our territory in just a few months. We know that members still have a lot of questions about the mine, especially after the recent tailings breach at Imperial Metals’ Mount Polley mine. A potential agreement between the Tahltan Nation and Imperial Metals is being discussed, with the intention of a vote for members towards the end of 2014. No final agreements have been signed between Imperial and the Tahltan. No decisions will be made without a vote. Whatever your opinion, it is important that we listen to members’ concerns and understand how you feel about the Red Chris mine as we go through this process. Any information you provide will be used to guide future communications as well as Tahltan leadership and negotiators. Please take 10 minutes to fill out this survey. As a thank you for your time, you will be entered into a draw to win a new pair of snowshoes and a winter jacket. The survey will close on October 31, 2014. Please share the survey with other Tahltan to make sure as many people as possible are heard.
