What qualifications do I need. to do an apprenticeship?. Most places are however subject to GCSE entry requirements which will determine whether you start on an NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 apprenticeship. For an NVQ Level 2 apprenticeship you will need 4 GCSEs at grade D–E including maths and English. For an NVQ Level 3 apprenticeship you will need 5 GCSEs at grade A*–C including maths and English.
What if I am already employed?. If you are already employed, an apprenticeship is an ideal work-based learning qualification as your employer may receive funding. The website www.dcbusinessfirst.co.uk provides a lot of useful information for your employer about apprenticeships and how you can get started.
What if I am not already employed?. If you are not in employment, the college operates an apprenticeship matching service at www.darlington.ac.uk By inputting your details and CV we will search our database of local employers to try and find you a ‘match’ in your chosen industry.
