Registration Information To register for a Kamp Kool 2014 session (camps are detailed on pages 2 to 5), pick up a form at one of the payment sites listed below, or download the form at CoralSprings.org/summerfun. Mail the completed form to the address below. For the seven-week program, mail must be postmarked on or after Monday, March 24, 2014. Registration for four/threeweek programs begins on a space-available basis on Thursday, April 10 (walk-in registrations are also accepted).
For best camp selection, please follow these instructions carefully: 1. Complete the registration form and indicate the child’s first, second and third choice of camp sites/programs. 2. One family per envelope! Multi-family registrations mailed in the same envelope will be returned. 3. Enclose a $100 deposit for each child. Please include a separate check or money order for each child. Make checks and money orders payable to the City of Coral Springs, and be sure to include your driver’s license number.
Parks and Recreation Department will use your second or third choices for enrollment.
Please remember: • Applications will be returned if postmarked prior to Monday, March 24. • One household per envelope (one registration form and separate check/money order for each camper). • Only mail delivered (postmarked Monday, March 24 or later) through first-class, regular delivery will be accepted. (Priority mail, special delivery, courier, etc. will not be accepted.) • Please do not send cash. • Correct postage is a must. • Once your child is placed in a camp, the $100 deposit is non-refundable. • Children must be six years of age by September 1, 2014 to enroll in the program or as stated in the description of each camp. • There will be a $25 administration fee for changing camps. All requests must be in writing.

Camp Director: Professional Dancer Melissa Florio Kids ages 5 to 12 will learn all the hottest Hip Hop and Street moves from music videos as seen on MTV and Dance Shows. Triple Threat Basketball Summer Boot Camp
Summer Basketball Boot Camp is for Boys and Girls ages 7-14. These basketball camps will advance your game by mastering triple threat moves to the basket, improve ball-handling skills, shooting form and technique, team defense, team offense, and help players understand how to play the game from multiple positions, from the perimeter, post, wing, and on the ball.

Kreul Basketball Camps
For the past 21 years, the Kreul organization has hosted one of the country’s premier high school basketball tournaments featuring South Florida’s finest teams testing their skills against top programs from across the nation. Through their camps and clinics, players of all ability levels will develop confidence in their skills, target areas for improvement and gain a greater appreciation for the game while having fun in a safe, positive, instructional environment. Activities include games, contests, drills and more!
Gary Curreri’s Simply Soccer Simply Soccer Camp stresses the four components of soccer. Camp Director Gary Curreri has a USSF National License, a USSF National Youth License, and is a Florida Youth Soccer Association State Staff Coach. Full-day participants receive a free T-shirt, certificates and written evaluation of their performance for the week. Campers must bring a soccer ball, swim suit, shinguards, water bottle and lunch.

Coral Springs Skate Park The Coral Springs Skate Park is located adjacent to the Slide ‘N Glide playground at Betti Stradling Park, on the northeast corner of Wiles Road and Coral Springs Drive. Rollerbladers and skateboarders use the park to practice their skills on the various ramps, dips and bowls. Contests and professional demonstrations take place on occasion. There are bleachers at the park for spectators and parents to watch the skaters and bladers.

Celebrating 28 years in Coral Springs, Safety Town is a comprehensive early childhood, hands-on safety education program designed to introduce all types of safety situations to children between the ages of 4½ and 6½.

Gymnasium Classes & Programs Sticky Fingers, with instructor Jean Rao, provides ongoing
arts and crafts classes. Children will explore different mediums through hands-on activities with parental and instructor assistance. Sticky Fingers classes for children ages 2 to 5 are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Fridays and classes for Children ages 5 to 7 (Sticky Fingers Too) are Wednesdays. Sticky Fingers continues during the summer with Sticky Fingers Camp. Classes are now year-round. Call the instructor at 954-682-1580 for more information.
Little Wing presented by School of Rock are Innovative
music classes for ages 4-5. Teach your child to love music! We believe that if we want kids to love music, then we must give them loved music to listen to. At Little Wing your child will participate in engaging activities set to classic songs that have inspired adults and kids throughout history. American School of Etiquette & Fashion
empowering young children to achieve their maximum potential by building confidence in their social skills. During class we teach the basics of charm, walking with confidence, meet & greet, dining etiquette, manners in public places, poise, fashion and much more. The goal is to learn the basics of charm for participants ages 5 to 13. Ongoing four-week sessions are Wednesdays from 5 to 5:45 p.m. at a cost of $40. No classes available during summer.
SAT Boot Camp is designed to provide training and
preparation to take the SAT exam at a cost of $329 for two, three-hour sessions on Saturday and Sunday, from 1 to 4 p.m., April 28-29.
Ballroom Dancing classes, with former professional
dancer and master teacher Lavonne Lear, will make American and Latin ballroom dances fun and easy to learn. Ongoing sixweek sessions rotate between American ballroom dances (fox trot, waltz, and swing) and Latin ballroom dancing (merengue, cha-cha and tango). The cost is $60 per person, per session. Slip on your leather-soled shoes and reserve your Friday nights for ballroom dancing from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Wedding Dance classes are fun and easy. Learn the favorite
dances used at wedding receptions: fox trot, waltz, electric slide and more. Join the fun and impress your friends and relatives with your new dance steps. Bridal parties welcome. Classes are Fridays from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. at a cost of $60 per session.

Salsa Dance Classes is a 6-week course for teens, adults
& seniors, students will learn introductory and beginner level “L.A. Style” Salsa on 1. Singles welcome. It is not necessary to bring a partner. Salsa helps to keep the mind sharp, is excellent physical exercise, releases endorphins in our body to help ward away stress, and builds social skills (especially in adolescents). Kidokinetics is the fun way to fitness! Your child will

Coral Springs Swim Club
Thinking of getting the kids involved with a new sport this summer? The Coral Springs Swim Club is a year-round competitive swimming program for children and young adults. The Coral Springs Swim Club has consistently ranked in the top three swim clubs in the nation for teaching stroke excellence. Tryouts are held Monday through Thursday.
Masters and Adult Swim Program
The Coral Springs Masters and Adult Fitness Swim Program is a year-round adult program designed for swimmers. The main focus of the program is to improve stroke, endurance, health and fitness. Triathletes are welcome. Competitions are available but not required. To participate in the program, you must be at least 19 years old and be able to swim 500 yards.
Swim Training and Technique
A year-round program that develops strength, technique, and endurance. This also includes advance-swimming skills, stretching, drills and techniques are related to competitive swimming. Must pass a pre-requisite test offered every Tuesday with the coach from 6:45-7:15 p.m. Class Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays Cost: $50/month Time: 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Advanced Swimming Techniques
Swimming is a low-impact, highly aerobic, and full-body exercise that can be used for life. Many swimmers have difficulty with their strokes that can be corrected with proper instruction. This program is designed to make swimmers technically better one-on-one with Coach Jackson. Participants will undergo a series of drills and tips to correct body position, pull phases, kick recovery for any stroke desired. Requirements: Must be able to swim 400 yards, Fins, Goggles, Cap (if hair is long) Cost: $30/half hour class
SwimAmerica Lessons
SwimAmerica is a learn-to-swim program for children between the ages of 3-12 years. SwimAmerica teaches water safety skills for the beginner and the four competitive strokes to the more advanced swimmer. The program is also an excellent preparation for swimmers who would like to join the Coral Springs Swim Club. It offers a low child-to-teacher ratio, a flexible schedule and the children progress at their own pace. Classes are held continuously throughout the year and are taught at the Aquatic Complex. Summer Aquatics Programs Summer Recreational Swim Team
This swim team is designed for children ages 6 and up who have experience in swimming at or above American Red Cross Level III. This program teaches the fundamentals of competitive swimming, including lap swimming for endurance, new techniques, stretches, drills, games and a lot of fun. There is a fun swim meet at the end of each session. A swimming test is required for all participants. Junior Lifeguard (Ages 11 to 14)

Upon successful completion, a certificate will be issued. Water test required. Diving Camps

Summer Swimming Lesson Registration
Level III: Stroke Development
Registration begins on Saturday, April 19 from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Aquatic Complex for swimming lessons at all three pools. As of April 20, registration will be taken at the respective pools.
Course will build on skills learned in Fundamentals. The dolphin and breaststroke kicks will be introduced to prepare for the butterfly and breaststroke swimming.
All participants ages 3 and older must be swim tested prior to registering for summer swim lessons due to the restructuring of the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program. Testing may be done at the Aquatic Complex before the April 19 registration (see Mandatory Requirements Box on this page).
Course develops confidence and builds endurance in strokes learned in the previous classes and includes further coordination and refinement of all strokes. Skills introduced include: tuck and pike surface dives, and flip turns.

Adult Stroke & Skills Improv II & III Course is design for teens and adults to improve foundation skills and strokes to gain an overall level of comfort in the water.
Mandatory Requirements for Lesson Registration All participants registering for Level II through VI MUST have a pre-test and receive a skills card. The skills card must be presented in order to register for classes. Level I is exempt from pre-testing in the appropriate age classes.This requirement is for every student, even if they have been in high level courses prior to June 9, 2014, because of the American Red Cross restructuring of their Learn to Swim program. Testing can be done from Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; as well as Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

Summer Camp and Classes
The Coral Springs Museum of Art is offering Art Camp for Kids at the studio for children and teens ages 6 to 16. Art Camp begins June 9 and run for 10 weeks. Children may sign up for one, two or more weeks. Classes are divided by age and subject. Some of the subjects offered are Ceramic Hand-building, Exploring Sculpture, Art of the Animal, Drawing, Acrylic Painting, Cartooning, Comic Book Design, Papier Mache and much more. Classes are taught by professional artists. The Museum is offering new subjects this summer including Photoshop-Digital Painting, Enhance Your Photos – Lightroom, Exploring Digital Animation-Greenfoot, and Digital Photography (ages 12 to 16), Chalk Murals (age 10+) and Digital Animation-Alice & Scratch. Summer Camp consists of wither a three-hour morning or afternoon session. Children may attend both sessions. The Museum offers lunchtime supervision for $10 a week, but students must bring their own lunch. Camp fees are $135 and up and include supplies. Broadway camp comes to Coral Springs Young aspiring actors will have a chance to take the stage at the Next Stop Broadway camps throughout the summer. The camps start in early June and run through August, offering participants real-life training and expertise. The sessions take place in the Coral Springs Center for the Arts, our hometown professional theater with experienced actors and technical staff. Participants learn much more than acting skills, including openness, confidence and self-esteem. Parents who enroll two or more children will receive a 20 percent discount for the second child. If campers enroll for all three camp sessions, the third session is 50 percent off. For the first time, all registered campers will be entered in a chance to win two floor seats to the One Direction concert that will take place at Sun Life Stadium on October 5, 2014. Environmental Learning Center Programs Camp Wild - Summer Break Camp Camp Wild is a nature, science and environmental camp run by the Sawgrass Nature Center & Wildlife Hospital designed for children ages 6-12.
