Chilly by name but never by nature, Ice-house - one of Australia’s hottest and most iconic bands in modern musical history - is warming up for their 30th anniversary tour. BY VICTORIA BERARDI

Icehouse will perform at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre on October 7 as part of their 30th anniversary tour. Tickets are on sale now. The band were formerly recognised for their phenomenal success in 2006 when they were inducted into the ARIA (Australian Record Industry Association) Hall of Fame.

Icehouse has produced 8 Top Ten albums and 20 Top Forty singles in Australia, multiple top ten hits in Europe and North America and album sales of over 28 times Platinum in Australasia alone. Icehouse began as the band “Flowers” in 1977, becoming known as Icehouse in 1981.

As they prepare to take centre stage at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre, CORE Magazine caught up with frontman, Iva Davies to delve a little deeper into the music within the man who had the rockstar mullet. Why was it important Q to celebrate 30 years of Icehouse? Over the years it’s come A to my attention, through comments from a number of Australian artists from different generations (Eskimo Joe, Jet, Cut Copy, Aston Shuffle), that the Flowers album has remained an influence on subsequent generations of musicians, as well and has been embraced by a younger generation of listeners. We also unearthed a great deal of live material and film footage from that period and the anniversary provided an ideal opportunity to make this available. Who have been your most significant musical and lyrical influences? Everything from Bach to A Radiohead. I’m very selective

Q

about lyricists, and there have been very few who have really impressed me. I rate Thom Yorke very highly. Old school it’s hard to go past Dylan and Joni Mitchell. As for an artist who has generated some of the most potent socio-political commentary, coupled with extraordinary music, I have never been able to top Pink Floyd’s “Dark side of the moon”, and “Wish you were here”.

Q What are the main roles of the band members in terms of writing? Is it collaborative or a combination of individual strengths? A The line up has changed over the years and apart from a trench of time from 1985 to 1987, when I worked closely with our guitarist Bob Kretschmer, I have generally taken care of most of the writing of both music and lyrics myself. What’s your most memorable touring moment? Clubbing with Bowie, A Holland, 1983. There was such a crush of crowd towards him, once the public discovered

Q

Icehouse (1980) Primitive Man (aka Love In Motion) (1982)

Bowie was in the club, that in attempting to grab him he was nearly strangled. He, our bass player Guy Pratt, and I, had to be passed out over the heads of the people in the club to get out of there.

Sidewalk (1984) Measure for Measure (1986) Man of Colours (1987) Code Blue (1990) Big Wheel (1993) The Berlin Tapes (1995) Icehouse - 30th Anniversary Edition (2011) White Heat: 30 Hits (2011)

1980 TV Week/Countdown Awards ‘Johnny O’Keefe Memorial Award for Best New Talent’ (as Flowers) 1988 ARIA Awards Best Album of the Year 1989 APRA Awards Most Performed Australasian Work for ‘Electric Blue’

It’s great to see quality acts coming to regional centres such as Mackay and the Whitsundays. What inspired you to include smaller centres in your tour? It’s been a long time since A we visited that part of the country, probably nearly 20 years and since we’ve played at smaller venues. They always produce a different, more relaxed energy to the band, so we are all looking forward to that as well.

Q

Do you rock at Guitar Hero? No I don’t, but my son A does a mean version of Van Halen’s “Eruption”. He’s very fast.

Pioneer Clay Target Club www.pioneerclaytargetclub.com

Our CORE challenge started before we even got there. Courtney claimed my directions were buggered and I disagreed with her song collection; what a perfect way to get in the mood to shoot come clay targets. Making our way down a very isolated Old McEwens Beach Road, we drove past some disorientated cows before Courtney remarked, “maybe this is their way to get rid of us? You know, a gun club out in the sticks, no phone reception…” I was nervous. We pulled in and were luckily greeted by a friendly bloke named Laurie who was keen as mustard to hit the range. After a quick run through with the guns and an intro to Laurie’s shooting buddy Ben (having the same name as me made it easier to remember), we were handed some ear plugs and given a “you’ll be right”. It was time to start. After Courtney hit a couple, it was time to give it a crack and try my best “pull”. I’d always wanted to say that. Beginner’s luck saw me off to a brilliant

start, but I convinced the boys it was probably the wind or a hand spasm; even I was surprised. The challenge was on and Laurie and Ben were shooting like champs; as Laurie put it on the day, “if you hit the sweet spot, it should just turn to powder”. Well that sweet spot is travelling at around 90km an hour, and I was like that guy who couldn’t dance except I was holding a gun. After some terrible misses, Laurie’s coaching saw me cream a few beauties; this was fun. The challenge continued and although most of my targets made their way out bush without even a scratch, I did manage to at least break a few apart. Enough to win the challenge against Courtney anyway (I’d tell you about the car ride home with Courtney but for my own safety it’s probably best to keep my mouth shut). All up, this was a fantastic experience and I’ll definitely be back again. There’s something about chasing that elusive sweet spot that Laurie spoke about. Plus saying “pull” made me giggle.

Husqvarna has always strived to innovate and bring new ideas to the world of off road motorcycles. At the start of this year, they released the new 449 range, which outstrips that of other off road models and stands out immediately for its looks, exclusive layout and cutting-edge technology. The line is completely new: slim, svelte and refined. The single piece side panel runs from where traditionally the fuel tank would be, all the way back to the rear mudguard, allowing the rider free and unhindered movement. There is no chance of snagging boots or jeans on the edges of the panels with this design. The new design also makes maintenance easier as the air filter, rear shock and throttle body can all be accessed with ease. Plus the 2 litre fuel pump housing is transparent so that the remaining fuel level can be easily monitored. The idea behind the TE/TC 449 range is ‘mass centralisation’ – to keep the weight of the bike concentrated as close as possible to the centre of gravity and to design a chassis which adapts perfectly to the demands of competitive Enduro racing. In October, mackerel are still the target fish but as the water temperature increases and around the full moon sailfish and small black marlin should also be targeted. Trolling spots like Dolphin Point, Pinnacle Point, Edwards Islands, The Oval and Black Reef will produce the best results. The best tides to fish for billfish is one hour both sides of the top of the tide or bottom of the tide. Trolling the bluer water side of the current lines using pusher lures and rigged garfish baits. Whilst trolling always keep an eye out for bait schools or flying fish and once found keep trolling these areas.

Pusher trolled for billfish

22 • www.coremag.com.au

If you are interested in having a spread behind your boat, go to www.williamsonlures.com and click How to Fish. This site will give you several different types of spreads and distances for your trolling. It is not a requirement to have a spread but it does increase your chances of catching a billfish. But plenty of anglers have caught marlin/sailfish in smaller boats with no spread.

The best tides to fish for billfish is one hour both sides of the top or bottom of the tide.

How slow do you retrieve lures and soft plastics when fishing for Barramundi?

Q

If you think you are retrieving slowly, slow it down more and more. You can’t go too slow.

A

Barramundi have started to come on the bite again with the best times being first neap tide after the full moon. Best spots being Proserpine River around Flying Fox and the deeper holes in the upper reaches. Trolling 5m divers such as RMG Scorpions and fishing the snags with weedless rigs.

What, if anything, can you catch fishing off the rock walls in Airlie Beach?

Q

Throughout the year you can catch small trevally, queenfish and grunter, in season you can catch barramundi, mangrove jack, fingermark bream, blue salmon and even good size mackerel.

A

Best result for barramundi will be fishing the run out tides. Find a small gutter or feeder creek and as the small bait fish are being washed out into the river the barramundi will be waiting to ambush these pray at the mouths. Casting small soft plastics on a weedless rig such as Berkley Gulp or Squidgies or hard body lures such as Gold bombers, Reidys B52s, Rapala Xraps into the mouths of these feeder creeks for

Q

best results, remember you need to be patient, just relax and using a slow retrieval will reap the better results. In other creeks and rivers in the area look for structures like logs, bridges and outcrops that the barramundi will be hiding in waiting for the bait fish to swim by. Using the same techniques as mentioned above should produce a barramundi.

How far back from the boat do you troll lures?

You can troll as close to the back of the boat as 5m in the wash or back to how far you like depending on reel capacity. The misconception that the boat will scare off the fish is not true and can actually attract some species.

Local father and son drag racing team, Paul and Scott Porter are giving it a red-hot go in the ANDRA Pro Series Championship.

Porters Racing was founded in 2000 when Scott and I decided to do something about our passion for drag racing.

28 • www.coremag.com.au

Finishing 8th out of 22 teams last year, the boys are looking ahead with goals of getting into the Top 5 this year. How did you get into racing? P Porters Racing was founded in 2000 when Scott and I decided to do something about our passion for drag racing and get serious about it. We worked our way through the various sportsmen’s categories and then in 2007 decided to step it up into Group 1 and join the ANDRA Pro Series Drag Racing Championship.

Q

Who are your toughest competitors in the Pro Stock ranks? Aaron Tremayne has won S the championship four years in a row so he’s the gun at the moment. But pretty much any factory based team is tough to beat because they have unlimited funds and it’s a challenge to keep up, being a privately funded car.

Q

On the topic of the car, tell us all about it. It was built in the U.S in 2007 P by Jerry Bickel Race Cars in Missouri. It’s a Ford Mustang powered by a 400 cubic inch Small

Q

Block engine, which was built by JB Automotive in Ayr. What were the main challenges you face? Our main challenge is P balancing full time work commitments with our race team, which we’re very dedicated to but sometimes the two just clash. Keeping up with new technology is also tough, as well as finding time for practice. There’s a lot of travel time involved in getting to a testing track where we can do our practice runs.

Q

How have you prepared yourself for the 2011/12 championship? The season actually started P early last month but unfortunately we weren’t able to make that meet due to work commitments. The next round is the S Westernationals in Perth in March. We’ve just put a brand new engine in the car so we’re working on getting it weight perfect. It’s a multi-adjustable suspension car so we’ve got to set it up and get it right. Then we need to test it a few times. Once all that’s done and the car is ready to race, we have to freight the car over to W.A so there’s logistics to figure out there too.

Q

What’s been your best racing moment? S Being the top qualifiers at last year’s opener in Sydney. It was our quickest time down the quarter mile at 7.05 seconds.

Q

Have you ever crashed? I had one little mishap a S few years ago. One of the parachutes didn’t come out so I couldn’t pull up. I did a few 360’s and clipped the front end on a fence. It was only cosmetic damage to the car and I didn’t get hurt. Definitely got the heart beating though.

Q

What’s the fastest speed you’ve been clocked at? About 310km/h. In a good S run the car pulls around three or four g’s. The car’s also a fivespeed manual so to give you an idea of quick it is, I’ve changed to second gear at about 0.9 seconds into the 400m run.

Q

Q P S

What’s the goal for this year? A finish in the Top 5 would be nice. I’d like to beat Aaron Tremayne.

Starring: Hugh Jackman, Evangeline Lilly and Kevin Durand Set in the near-future where the sport of boxing has gone hightech, Real Steel follows the story of Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max to build and train a championship contender.

Did you do something this cool last weekend? We talked to Craig Mackenzie, Workshop supervisor from Dowdens Plumbing Mackay about his Ferrari experience! What did you do last weekend? A I actually just got back from a holiday to Singapore where I test-drove a F430 Ferrari Spider on the freeway that gets transformed into the site for the 2011 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix.

Q

Q

How fast did you go?

The fastest was 160km/h – we were on a highway so we were limited in how much we could boot it. But I did sneak a couple of opportunities to let loose the angry horse power.

A

Have you driven anything like the Ferrari before? I’m a mechanic by trade so A I have worked on a lot of high performance cars like the Mercedes, Porsche and Maserati. It was nice to get back into a car with a bit of class.

Q

What other luxury cars do you want to drive? We had a choice between A the Ferrari or a Lamborghini, so definitely the Lamborghini next time.

Q

How was the overall experience? The paddle shift gear change A was responsive and easy to use, but the breaks didn’t perform as well as expected. I put this down to the sheer acceleration of the vehicle. The camel coloured leather interior was an experience on its own!

Q

Q A

Do you think you could beat the Stig in the F430? I don’t know but I’d have a hell of a time trying!

Who do you follow in the V8 Supercar Championship? Steve Johnson racing in the A Dick Johnson Team in the V8’s, and Mark Webber in Formula One.

A friend of mine approached me in the gym one day and asked if I was competing. I had no idea what he was talking about. But after a little persuasion and encouragement I soon found out and loved it!

A

Q

Where do you train?

Hi Energy is my favourite gym and I teach Zumba there as well. I also train at Snap for the after hours that they offer.

A

What does a typical training session involve?

Q

45 minutes of intensity. A We break up body parts and usually focus on two at a time. Heavy weights and the goal is to meet it or beat it the next time.

Q

What’s the heaviest weight you can lift?

I can leg press 300kgs for 6 reps. I can also out lift the boys with standing calf raises at 260kgs!

A

You’re off to Vegas in November to compete in the 2011 Fitness America Weekend. How did that come about?

Q

Since starting to compete, my fiancé Terence and I have been promotionally involved with a magazine called Australian Natural Bodz. The people that run the magazine take a team over to Vegas each year and they asked us to be a part of that team. I have a fuller look which will be well suited to the competitions over there, we shall see…

A

Q Will you have any time to do some sightseeing in Vegas? What’s on your to-do list? I hope so. I plan on hitting the buffets in a big way after the show! It’s my second visit to Vegas but Terence’s first so it will be huge for him (no mum, we don’t plan on getting married there!)

Have you been on the podium in any of the competitions you’ve been in?

Q

I came second at the 2010 Asia Pacific’s which was incredible as the line up was tough. I also came first at ANB Queensland State Championships last year and took out Overall Best Female Poser at the same competition and also at the Australian Championships.

A

You also work in the media. Do you ever get the chance to meet famous people? Who’s the coolest person you’ve met?

Q

Yep I’ve met heaps of famous people. The coolest would have to be Harry Shearer, who does a lot of the voices on The Simpson’s. He was brilliant!

If you’re thinking of going to Oktoberfest or are even thinking of holding your own Oktoberfest then your going to need to learn the German lingo. Steak cooked to order

Who ordered the medium rare? Rump, T-Bone or Eye Fillet? Cooked to within an inch of its life or still mooing? It doesn’t matter how you like it, everyone loves a good steak (unless of course, you’re a vegetarian). When we dropped into the Northern Beaches Bowls Club for a lunch time feed, we were hanging for a good bit of cow and happily, we got just what we were after. A delicious 300 gram grain fed rump with mushroom sauce, chips and salad.

Just the right amount of mushroom sauce

Good, chunky chips Good selection of free extra salads to choose from Fast service

When we added the tasty meal we had to a great looking venue, super friendly staff and a great atmosphere, it all added up to the Northern Beaches Bowls Club being a great place to grab a feed on the north side.

Get ready to experience one of the hottest restaurants in Mackay (literally!). The CORE team speaks to Amani Khehra, co owner of Spice n Flavor about dining, Mango Beer, sweat and chilli.

Finally, a restaurant that not only provides great tasting Indian food but can challenge your taste buds to an epic battle of hot proportions. Co-owned by Amani Khehra and Ricky Dhliwal, these guys know the right combination for a great night out. Spice n Flavor opened on 17 July 2010 and has quickly become one of Mackay’s best known restaurants. Specialising in exotic Indian cuisine, Spice n Flavor combines modern cuisine with traditional flavours.

With a menu that has more variety than you can poke a stick at and an extensive beer, wine and spirits menu, you’re sure to find a favourite. You can dine in and experience the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant or order takeaway. If you’re wondering what to have for lunch, they also offer great lunch specials from $9.95 takeaway or $14.95 dine-in. So whether it’s a first date, Friday night takeaway or a work function, Spice n Flavor will serve you up a traditional Indian experience every time.

Five things you didn’t know about Amani Khehra, co-owner of Spice n Flavor.

Born in Chandigarh, India Amani moved to New Zealand when he was 18 to study hotel management at the Pacific International Hotel Management School in New Plymouth. He is co-owner of Spice n Flavor with Ricky Dhliwal who was his roommate for their last two semesters at school. He has had 15 years experience in hotel management. Amani has travelled and worked in hotels throughout the world including the Hilton, Hyatt and the Ritz Carlton. He has travelled throughout Australia and decided to settle in Mackay because he prefers the laid back lifestyle here.

Spice n Flavor is located at 162 Victoria Street, Mackay. Call 4999 9639 46 • www.coremag.com.au

SPICE AND FLAVOR

Try Old Monk Rum, a traditional Indian spiced rum. Watch out - it packs a punch!

You can also get traditional beers like Kingfisher in normal and strong. Beware of the strong brew - it’ll knock you over!

Try a refreshing Mango Lassi, a mango flavoured yoghurt drink.

Chilli is one of the most popular ingredients in Indian cooking and can give your dish a real kick. But have you ever wondered how it’s measured? Chilli is measured in scovielle units and the spiciest you can get is rated at about 14 million units.

Spice n Flavor’s hottest chilli in the restaurant is rated at 8 million units and if you can eat the whole dish in 25 minutes you’ll get your name and photo on an Honour Board plus a free beer. Warning: you will have to sign a release form before you try it because it’s that hot!

The second hottest in the kitchen is Saton’s Blood rated at 800,000 units. Amani says one drop is way, way, way too hot!

Your best bet is to set up camp is the dead centre of town (not the cemetery)! We’re talking about the area between Altstadt and Isarvorstadt. From here you are close to the main train station and all the Oktoberfest festivities. For budget accommodation you will pay around $60AUD per night, but if you’re after something a bit more lux you’re looking at around $560AUD a night. If you’re keen to see more of Munich than the bottom of a beer stein, you might be surprised to find out that one of the most popular things to do in Munich is surfing. It may be an artificial wave but it’s still totally gnarly and even watching the ‘surfing’ from the English Garden is a massive tourist attraction. Once you have had your fill of German beer and surfing check out the Olympic Stadium, which offers awesome tours including roaming around on the roof! While you’re on that side of town, stop off at the BMW Headquarters to marvel at this incredible building and don’t forget to check out the BMW Museum while you’re there.

If you said Oktoberfest, you’re on the same wavelength as us! What you might not know is that Oktoberfest actually starts in September and right now the festival is actually wrapping up, rather than gearing up.

So take this as travel tips for next year... book a trip to Munich, Germany for September 2012 to experience the most epic beer festival on the planet (BYO lederhosen).

Stephen D. Kramer / Shutterstock.com

Let’s play a word association game. What’s the first thing you think of when we say October and massive world-wide celebrations?

You need to be in Germany by 22 September 2012 to catch all of next year’s Oktoberfest festivities. Unfortunately due to massive world-wide popularity, accommodation will be considerably dearer, if there is any accommodation at all, so keep in mind that it is best to book heaps far in advance. Also the abundance of alcohol and celebration during Oktoberfest causes a bit of a spike in the crime rate, so it’s a good idea to keep your wits about you, don’t down too much of the good stuff and stay out of trouble. Weatherwise the average daily temperature this time of year can be a little chilly at about 15 degrees Celsius.

There are a number of airlines that fly to Munich, such as Emirates, V Australia, Qantas and Singapore Airlines at a cost of roughly $2,000 per person return including stopovers in Asia and the United Arab Emirates. The total travel time depends on the length of your stopovers, but you are looking at about 24 hours to get there. If you want to break up the trip, you could extend your stop over and have a few days exploring Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai or Abu Dhabi. When it comes to getting around, Munich has a great public transport system that includes trains, buses and trams. The city is divided into zones making it easy to navigate for tourists. You can purchase weekly public transport passes than cover all the zones. If you plan to enjoy the Oktoberfest it would be wise to book a hotel within walking distance to the festival. The Munich public transport system maybe great but after a few litres of beer your navigation skills will more than likely be impaired!

A day in the life of Gus Nichols... Q A

What do you do for a crust? I’m a shift working professional firefighter.

What does your job involve? I do shift work, two days, A two nights then four days off. We respond to most emergencies – anything from road accidents, hazardous materials incidents, vertical rescue, swift water, structural fires and wild fires. We’re also heavily involved in community safety; visiting schools, doing building inspections of businesses around Mackay, and safe home visits to residential homes. Another large part of the job is ongoing skills maintenance.

Q

Is this the job you dreamed of doing when you were a little tacker? A No, it wasn’t until 10 years ago that I became interested and starting pursuing firefighting as a profession. I’ve always been active and knew I didn’t want to end up in an office job.

Q

What did you have to do to score this job? A The Fire Service has a few minimum requirements that you have to meet in terms of education. You have to have finished grade 12 and then trade or tertiary qualifications are preferred too. You also need to have some volunteer work on your

resume. Then there are physical, psychological and academic assessments. Once I was accepted, I had to complete a four month basic recruitment course in Brisbane. It sounds really intensive but the Fire Service has to be, to weed out those who are only half in it. It’s difficult to get in, but once you’re in it’s great. What’s your proudest working memory? A This may sound corny but I just love helping people in their greatest time of need.

Q

What’s the best part of the job? It comes with a good A lifestyle. I have two kids and live in Airlie but travel to work in Mackay. I also really enjoy going to the schools and doing Fire Ed presentations with the kids, talking about serious topics with them and being able to have a laugh on lighter subjects too.

Q

What’s the worst part of the job? Dealing with children at A incidents because I have two of my own.

Q

If you could be doing anything else, what would it be? Professional fisherman or A game fisherman. I’d love to win the lotto and not have to work for awhile. (You and me both buddy!)

Organise your thoughts – what do you want and why do you want it? If you are buying for yourself – what features are must haves, what’s on the wish list and what are deal breakers? If you are buying for investment – are you after capital gain, income stream, negative or positive gearing. Organise your finances The best deals can often be made when you can “talk turkey” with confidence. Talk to a few mortgage brokers and find one you trust. Get preapproval and know what your maximum repayments could be so that you make good choices when it comes to buying. Offload the hard work Pick three real estate agents. Tell them what you want and

where you want it and discover who will work for their money. (Hint: Ask the agents if they are owners/ landlords themselves). Educate yourself Take time with your chosen agent to understand the process. About 10 or 15 minutes spent early on will save stress and worry later. If you are investing in property take time to really understand the jargon. It’s amazing how many people want to “negative gear” without realising that means losing money. It’s not always a bad thing but at least understand why you’d want to do it. Be quick to decide When you find a house that your gut tells you is right – grab it. Remember what General Patton said “A good plan violently executed today is far and

A good agent will work with you because, although they work for their sellers, they also know that a good reputation is gold so they will always strive for the win/win result by matching a buyer to a property they will be happy with.

Sift the s**t – th en forget 9 0% of w hat they told you and trust yo urself.

Always look a RMS rating when matching speakers and subs with amps. Peak is a marketing figure only. A sound system is only as strong as its weakest link. Aim to install the highest quality components your budget allows for. Never adjust audio settings without thorough knowledge of what they do. Incorrect settings can easily destroy speakers. Always ask for a birth certificate for the amplifier. Poor quality products are often never individually tested.

By underpowering your system you can induce clipping and signal distortion which is fatal to speakers and subwoofers. It’ll burn the internal components and destroy the speakers and subs – you know it’s bad when you get that nasty burning smell! This is normally due to inferior components and under powering your system. CORE’s here to help solve your in-car stereo problems...allow us to introduce the all-new,

award-winning, digital X-Power range of amplifiers from Alpine! X-Power incorporates many of Alpine’s advanced digital technologies used in their topof-the-line H-Class PDX series of amplifiers. They’re ultra compact at up to 35% smaller than their closest competitors PLUS these amplifiers were designed to offer ultra high efficiency, robust no-shutdown performance and leading sound quality.

The results are an amplifier that wastes little energy through heat, and retains accurate sound reproduction without sacrificing space. What’s more, their remote sense turn-on and speaker level input provide easy upgrading for later model vehicles such as VE Commodores and FG falcons. These are a high end amplifier without the high end price. Starting from as little as $349.

Speaker specs on paper can be impressive but misleading. Always look for a real world example and try before you buy.

Are you in a relationship that’s missing the spice? Do you want HOT sex but getting the COLD shoulder instead? Lack of sex is one of the biggest killers in a relationship. Once the intimacy and sex dissipates the relationship can go down hill quickly, going from passionate lovers who can’t keep their hands off each other to finding yourselves back in the ‘friend zone’.

the process without even realising it. So, how much sex is enough? The answer really depends on the couple and mismatched libidos is a common issue in most relationships. One person may want sex three times a day and the other may only want it once a week. So why is it that people in relationships who could have sex as much as they want simply choose not to?

A common misconception is that men want sex all the time. Realistically, men are so busy working to make the bacon to provide for their families and keep up with society that they are sacrificing their sex life in

If you’re in a relationship – don’t give yourself a life sentence with not enough sex!! Make time to connect, get adventurous, get romantic and most of all ENJOY it!

Over worked Too tired or stressed Conflict in the relationship Too much alcohol or drugs Boredom - not enough variety Lack of intimacy and affection Lack of time

Depression Lack of communication Not wanting to instigate sex first No longer finding your partner attractive Prefer masturbation

Whether you have a partner in crime, web-based love or a figment of your imagination, CORE is here to help. Ask the questions you can’t ask anyone else.

I work away and when I get home I want to spend time with my girlfriend but she still wants to go out with her mates. Is that wrong? What’s right and wrong in a relationship is determined by the people in it. It’s natural that you want to spend time with your girl, so plan something ahead of time with her, be romantic. If she recharges by going out why not take her out yourself. Be part of the fun.

I love going on Facebook and my girlfriend gets jealous. What should I do? Facebook can be a great outlet. You can communicate with people anytime and seek out old mates. At the same time a lot of marriages and relationships have ended as a result of people seeking out past lovers and reigniting the old flames. Talk to your girlfriend and set some boundaries that you are both comfortable with. Reassure your girl that she is the “one”.
