Ugly Duckling
Meet the most unusual duckling the pond has ever seen! In their nest at the edge of a pond, the baby ducklings wait impatiently for Mummy’s enormous egg to hatch. But their new brother doesn’t look like everyone else. He doesn’t even quack like a proper duckling! Teased and called Ugly by his siblings, our hero goes on an adventure in search of a place to fit in. As the woodland trees change from dark weathered branches to silver sticks of frost, the lost and lonely fledgling hides in brushwood and stares skyward at the migrating swans, yearning to belong and marvelling at their beauty…. where does he really belong?

Rhodri Miles in
Dylan Thomas: Clown In The Moon Clown In The Moon (the title of a poem written when Dylan Thomas was 14) is a dramatic portrait of the poet’s chaotic, frequently hilarious, and all too brief life. Located in a BBC studio, it sets some of Dylan’s famous broadcasts and iconic works alongside vivid reminiscences of his clownish antics in pubs, bars and parties, and his encounters with a host of eccentric and volatile women. Rhodri Miles (Game of Thrones) returns as Dylan Thomas after his previous sell-out performances of the critically acclaimed Burton and winner of the ‘Best International Show Award’ at the Hollywood Fringe Theatre Festival in 2010. ‘Captivating and deeply moving’ LONDONTHEATRE1 date

Simon & Garfunkel: Through the Years Performed by Bookends Simon & Garfunkel: Through the Years is the most authentic sounding concert to the unforgettable music of Simon & Garfunkel. Made up of Dan Haynes and Pete Richards, Bookends have toured the globe extensively with their concerts being described as ‘simply breath-taking’. Performing the songs in a truly captivating way, against a backdrop of iconic imagery, their delicate recreation of the unmistakable sound of the American folk-rock duo is something of a masterpiece. Bookends have been performing their unique, world-class
concert to audiences in some of the finest theatres and concert halls across the UK, Europe and the United States.
But Sophie is fighting monsters of her own, monsters every bit as terrifying as those that Beowulf must face. Her mother is dying, and Sophie’s life is changing beyond her control.
Nine-year-old Sophie knows the story of Beowulf well. She has enjoyed sharing it many times with her mother, a professor of Old English. Together they have even learned to read a language that no one has spoken in this country for over nine hundred years.

GIANT
Critically acclaimed, 5-star Edinburgh Fringe show Tommy, aged 22, lives under the same roof as three generations of his family. They’ve learnt to ignore the strange things his nan says over dinner and the bizarre rumblings coming from the attic. Horribly honest clowns and questionable cabaret acts ignite the stage with Human Zoo’s trademark visual storytelling. This dynamic young ensemble explores their own generational identity through live music, puppetry, movement and
playful clowning. What have we inherited from older generations? What, if anything, is new? GIANT is an explosive, absurd and visceral adventure into adulthood. Could Tommy’s nan know more than meets the eye? date

linked by Shakespeare’s magnificent text.
To this great stage of fools.”
What starts as a game becomes real as Shifting Sands play with Shakespeare’s ingredients yet remain faithful to his themes. There will be irreverence, but no parody. The result – potent, accessible theatre.
When he announces his retirement and the division of his ‘kingdom’ between his daughters, Mr Lear imitates his famous namesake and demands to know which of them loves him the most. In so doing he unleashes a tide of pent-up frustration and jealousy.
