Shipping Containers FAQ Q: Can I have a Container on my property for storage? A: Shipping Containers are only permitted on properties zoned as “Industrial” or “Agricultural” for agricultural use only. Q: Can I place a Shipping Container on my property while my house is being constructed? A: With a valid building permit, a shipping container may be placed on the property for storage during the construction and must be removed after completion. Q: I want a shipping container, but I’m not zoned ‘IN’ or ‘AG’, what can I do? A: Speak with our General Manager- Planning, Building & Enforcement to discuss if there are any options.

POOL ENCLOSURE PERMIT APPLICATION What are the steps? The Township of South Glengarry’s Pool Enclosure By-law 16-18 requires all owners or agents who want to construct a pool on a property to apply for a “Pool Enclosure Permit”. Our primary concern is to ensure the safety of all people. A Pool Enclosure permit is required for all pools that can hold more than 0.6m of water at any point.
