Cornwall has the honour of sharing borders with the Mohawk Territory of Akwesasne and the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SDG). Each of these neighbours bring points of interest worth visiting, and the beauty of the region makes it easy to travel. Kawehno:ke (Cornwall Island), the Ontario portion of Akwesasne is home to an amazing tribute to the Mohawk culture, The Native North American Travelling College. The center has been recently renovated to assist in telling the story of the Mohawk people. Thompson Island is another phenomenal experience teaching the authentic ways of the Haudenosaunee nations. SDG is home to many historical gems like the world renowned Upper Canada Village and St. Raphel’s Ruins, but where the counties really shine is their offering of farm and agriculture experiences. Groovy Yurts, Split Farm Alpacas, Fields of Gold, Lou Lou Lavender and Stone Crop Acres Winery are all must try experiences.
