REMEMBER A large crowd stood in silence as the American flag made its way down Main Street during the annual Memorial Day parade held in Coshocton on Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m. Following the parade, a ceremony was held at the court square that included the placement of the Memorial Wreath by Terry Stein, brother of Vietnam War KIA Donald V. The Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum will be hosting What Women Want on June 15 at 6 p.m. featuring a luxurious four-course dinner and a What Women Want auction of designer handbags, pamper packages and sweet extras.

The What Women Want Auction includes cool packages, outing bundles, dinners and overnights. Two new packages this year feature a weekend rental on Kelly’s Island and a ghost hunt at Prospect Place. Habitat volunteers remove parts of Town & Country Club

Over 25 Habitat for Humanity volunteers helped remove key components of the Coshocton Town & Country Club located on Cambridge Road on Tuesday, May 21. Pictured are Dean Wortman, left, Jim Springer and Jason Pope removing the framing of a French door. Windows, doors and other miscellaneous items were carefully removed from the facility and will be cleaned and available for sale at the Habitat for Humanity Restore. On Wednesday, crews will be removing the pillars that adorned one of Coshocton’s finest establishments.

Jason Pope, who manages the Restore, said, “Habitat is removing all of the old fixtures, windows and doors. We are going to be renewing them and selling them at the Restore. This is a chance for people to own a piece of local history. I can’t say enough about our volunteers. You can’t do it without the volunteers. It has gone wonderfully today, we worked from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.” The volunteers removed 26 single pane windows, 13 replacement windows and about 20 doors on Tuesday.

178 senior citizens volunteered nearly 32,446 hours of service improving our communities.

340 children and their families were enrolled in the Head Start program. These children received kindergarten preparedness pre-school services including education; nutrition; health, dental & vision screenings; and other supportive services.

1,630 senior citizens received services in Coshocton County. This includes nearly 90,000 hot meals served at the senior center or delivered to homebound seniors. Exercise, transportation, health screenings and assessments, prescription assistance, commodities food distribution, and numerous daily socialization activities were also provided.

Over 3,700 families were kept warm this winter with over $1 million in HEAP assistance.

558 households avoided homelessness via homelessness prevention financial assistance.

5,512 nights of shelter were provided to the homeless.

CrowTown ThrowDown coming back to Coshocton COSHOCTON - The annual CrowTown ThrowDown mixed martial arts competition is coming back to Coshocton for its fourth year on May 25 in the Hunter Arena at the Coshocton County fairgrounds. This year’s event consists of a 16 bought card and CrowTown Throwdown’s first female bought. General admission tickets are $25 and ringside seats are $35. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the first fight starting at 7 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at 6th Street Tattoo located at 114 South 6th street, Coshocton. Beer will be available for purchase during the fight.

COSHOCTON – Spring is a time of temperatures rising, flowers blooming, camping trips, grilling with friends, and late nights around a campfire.

Spring can also be a time of extreme weather conditions, whether it is strong storms with power outages across the county or extreme heat. Here are a few safety tips on how to deal with extreme Ohio weather.

Always be prepared. Have a meeting place somewhere either in or outside the home for your family in the event of a natural disaster with regular practice drills to ensure your plan if effective. Although tornadoes, earthquakes and floods are not common in Coshocton County, it is better to have a plan for these events in case they would occur.

“Stay indoors,” said Bernie Minet, director at Coshocton County EMS. “Make sure you keep up with the news and safety messages. We also encourage people to sign up for Code Red where the county can reach people in an emergency.

Remain off the roadways to allow safety crews to get out to those who need our help.”

Another major concern in the county in the event of a power outage is available oxygen to those who need it.

“Power outages cause issues with portable oxygen,” said Minet. “People need to prepare in advance and make sure they have portable oxygen that doesn’t run on electricity. That’s a major problem in our county.”

ODOT updates county commissioners on progress COSHOCTON – Two representatives from the Ohio Department of Transportation, Joseph Rutherford, district deputy director, and Bill Sullivan, county manager, and Coshocton County Engineer, Fred Wachtel, met with the Coshocton County Commissioners May 22, to discuss progress and improvements of ODOT’s programs in District 5 and all over the state.

“I think it’s very important for you to know what ODOT is doing in your county,” said Rutherford. “It’s incumbent of ODOT to make you aware of what we are doing in your county and state.”

Rutherford reported that last winter was different than previous winters in that there were several small snow squalls throughout the day and crews would have to make several trips in one day to clear snow off of highways and roadways. Last winter, ODOT spent $81 million on maintaining the icy roadways, which was surprising considering the cost of salt was down $16 a ton than the previous year.

“It was an interesting winter,” Rutherford said. “No two winters are the same.”

District 5 serves seven counties, which consists of 1,100 bridges and almost 7,000 miles in roadway. The Ohio legislature recently passed a 7.6 billion dollar budget for ODOT for the next two years.

“We want to spend this money on the infrastructure on the state of Ohio,” said Rutherford. “We want to help local governments with their infrastructure and improve townships, villages, and cities.”

Ohio has the fourth largest highway system in the country. ODOT’s goal for the end of the year is to reduce their employees to 4900 so that more money can be spent on roadways and bridges. The annual construction budget jumped from 1.6 billion to over 2 billion.

District 5 has given some of their budgeted money to other districts in Ohio so that they can improve their roadways and bridges as well.

Rutherford also gave an update on ODOT’s progress and projects in Coshocton County.

Sometime this year, ODOT will be conducting a traffic incident management class for emergency responders that will discuss who is in charge at an accident and how to handle the scene. In 2015, they will be acquiring land for a salt dome near Baltic and in 2019, ODOT would like to acquire land in the county and build a new maintenance facility in Coshocton County.

The commissioners also met with Brian Bush of American Health Center to potentially sign a contract which would allow county employees to join the center with a discount.

Employees would not be required to sign up, but would be encouraged to. The basic package for one year would cost $240 a year per employee with additional fees for each family member added.

The center is open 24 hours and county employees would need to show their ID card to get in. It is unclear at this time whether or not seasonal and part-time employees would be able to access this benefit. No decision was made at the May 29 meeting whether or not to sign.

Ike Reger met with the commissioners to discuss upgrading three phones in the maintenance department to Smart Phones. There is no cost for the upgrade; however, there would be a $30 - $40 monthly cost for the data package.

The commissioners approved the upgrade.

Also approved at the commissioners meeting: - A motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as presented.

- A motion to sign a request for payment and status of funds report for grant B-C-11-1AP-2 in the amount of $114,738 as requested by John Cleek, CDC of Ohio.

- Received the dog warden’s report for the week ending May 20 with seven dogs picked up by the warden, one dog brought in as a stray, 10 dogs destroyed, 11 citations issued, 28 calls handled, 11 dog licenses sold, five late fees paid, four dogs redeemed, three dogs per owner surrendered, $50 in boarding fees collected for a total of $472 in fees collected.

Although a German dirigible pilot, Eckner, was the first to top the clouds in a homemade balloon in 1905, Frank Fuhr of Coshocton was the first American to take flight in a self-propelled gas balloon. Fuhr flew his self-propelled cigar-shaped balloon over the Coshocton Fairgrounds, becoming an overnight success and was offered $1,500 to appear in a Chautauqua program. On one fateful flight in Licking County, a storm began to brew and whipped Fuhr around the dark skies to the horror of his audience. He was eventually carried above the storm and crashed on a small farm between Coshocton and Warsaw. This was his last flight and the 86-year-old pilot retired to Canton.

May 29th, 1983 Charles Cummings was 84-years-old, but he still retained a vivid memory of his time serving our country in the First World War. Cummings transported communications and maps by motorcycle during the war and was shot at several times by enemy fire. He remembered running into a stone wall in Belgium, retaining a few injuries.

This, however, was the end of his motorcycle trips.

He was also on the front line when the Armistice was signed at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11, 1918. When he returned from the war, Cummings was not treated as a war hero and had trouble finding work. He eventually found work in Coshocton and had lived here ever since.

All information was obtained from microfilm of the Coshocton Tribune at the Coshocton County Library.

COSHOCTON - Coshocton Business and Professional Women (BPW) met May 20 at Schumaker Farms for the Joan McNeely Working Woman Scholarship Banquet. Guests included Nita Selders, Katie Snider, Carly and Lily Griffith, Kay and Paige Bowman, Mary Pierce, and Keynote Speaker Mindy Fehrman, Director, Coshocton Job and Family Services.

Scholarship Committee Members Doris Parkhill led The Collect and Dorothy Camp gave the blessing.

Mary Pierce, retired principal, explained how much her mother enjoyed being a BPW member, and how much she and her mother valued education. She presented President Emily McBurney with a check for $200 for the Scholarship Fund.

Keynote Speaker Mindy Fehrman recalled her education journey with touches of humor which was very encouraging and entertaining.

Kay E. Bowman and Carly C. Griffith each received a $1,000.00 scholarship from Scholarship Committee Chair Tammi Rogers.

Kay E. Bowman works full-time at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital (CCMH) as a Phlebotomist. She is currently enrolled at Ohio University-Zanesville with a 3.5 GPA to attain a BS in Nursing and anticipates graduating in 2014. Bowman wants to work in emergency medicine as a flight or trauma nurse.

Her community/volunteer work includes being active in several work groups at CCMH, fund raising for Ridgewood cheerleaders, 4-H, and the Village of West Lafayette (Homecoming).

She has two daughters, Shyanne and Paige.

Carly C. Griffith works full-time at Coshocton County Head Start as the Family & Community Partnership Manager. She is currently enrolled at Muskingum University with a 4.0 GPA to receive a MS in Information Strategy, Systems and Technology, and anticipates graduating in 2014.

One of her personal goals is to set an example for her daughter to understand and appreciate the value of education.

Marilyn Lauvray volunteered to serve as a Doorkeeper during the business sessions. As a member of the 2013 Conference Committee, Liz Herrell gave the Invocations for all meals. For the 2013-2014 year, Tomma Bordenkircher will serve as the BPW/OH Individual Development (ID) Chair, and Liz Herrell will serve as BPW/ OH Foundation Chair and will serve on the 2014 Conference Committee as Invocation Chair.

Kim Gress was honored as a Distinguished Woman nominee, and will serve as the 20132014 Region 4 President.

Be a ‘health nut’ at the Fresno Farmer’s Market

Spinach & Cheddar Quiche 1 prepared pie shell 6 - 8 slices of bacon 1 small onion diced 1 clove garlic 8 large brown eggs (beaten well) 1 bunch of tender fresh spinach or young Swiss chard leaves chopped (washed well and patted dry) 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1/4 cup milk Salt & pepper to taste In medium skillet, brown bacon until crisp and crumble. Drain on paper towel. Sauté onions and garlic in some of the reserved bacon drippings until done. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place pie crust in pie plate. In large bowl, mix all of the above ingredients together and pour into pie shell. Bake for approx. 50 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.

On June 7-9, visitors can enjoy the oldest hot air balloon event in Ohio—The Coshocton Hot Air Balloon Festival, sponsored

by Frontier Power, which takes place at the Coshocton Co. Fairgrounds at 707 Kenilworth Ave. Admission and entertainment are free.

This family-fun affair features midway attractions, craft booths, carnival rides, fireworks, photo contest, antiques flea market, live musical entertainment, food vendors and many other family-oriented activities. On Friday night, enjoy free musical entertainment by the Wayfarers and The Railers from Nashville. Fireworks begin around 9:20 p.m.

Saturday entertainment features a variety of live entertainment including Miss Jennifer’s Dance Studio and Jodie’s Dance Studio, Ashliegh Kingsmore, and Retrovox Band. The popular balloon ‘Night Glow’ then takes place around 9:15 p.m.

Corvette enthusiasts will love the Corvettes at Roscoe Cruise-In on June 9. Over 200 corvettes will converge on the street in Historic Roscoe Village at this event hosted by the Classic Glass Corvette Club. Spectator admission to the cruise-in is free. Visitors will enjoy strolling along the street admiring the cars while listening to the tunes of 50s and 60s music.

Coshocton County is also the host of the longest-running heritage music festival in Ohio—Coshocton Dulcimer Days, which is also the second-oldest event of its kind in the United States. This year marks the 39th anniversary of this nationally-significant Appalachian musical event, which will be in Historic Roscoe Village on June 14-16. The event features the Mid-East Regional Dulcimer Championships, concerts, music vendors, artists’ booths and traditional Appalachian music, open stage times, raffles, and a Sunday morning gospel sing and service.

Keene Creek Farm - the Mulletts First, we need to apologize. The hot dogs the processor made for us do have MSG in them.

When we ordered them the processor told us that there is no MSG in the hot dog recipe. But, when we picked them up, it was noted on the label. So, we apologize. Please be sure to read all labels if MSG is something you’re trying to avoid or have a sensitivity to.

We have a great selection of pork products available though. The processor made up some marinated loin chops for us (marinated in a garlic and butter sauce - they’re super juicy and tasty) and some MSG-free breakfast blend sausage (in bulk and patties). We also have plenty of brats for grilling this holiday weekend - all MSGfree. Our ribs are pretty amazing on the grill too. The last time we took hogs to the processor we had their fat rendered down into lard. It will be available in large tubs this weekend at Local Bounty. It will keep in the freezer. We’ll also have salad greens, romaine and eggs.

Girl Scout council honors volunteer

Coshocton Moose 935 block party weekend to support local veterans COSHOCTON - On Aug. 3 and 4, The Coshocton Moose 935 will be having their second annual Block Party Weekend which will consist of a poker run on Saturday, Aug. 3 and a bike show on Sunday, Aug. 4 with live entertainment both days. Main Street will be blocked off from Water Street to the alley beside the Moose where a stage will be setup facing up Main Street. Several artists will be performing both days everything from country, blues, and classic rock. The block party will end Sunday night with the headlining act being 1993 Academy of Country Music’s Best New Group, Confederate Railroad. All proceeds will go to the DAV Disabled American Veterans to help them buy a new van to transport local veterans to the veterans’ hospitals. Several items will be raffled off including signed items from various artists, a guitar that Confederate Railroad is carrying with them gathering signatures from

artists they perform with this summer, a set of hearing aids donated by Beltone, and numerous donated items.

Confederate Railroad first rolled onto the national country music scene in the early 90s with its unique style and sound. The first single from their debut album, “Confederate Railroad” was “She Took It Like A Man”. The next two singles, “Jesus and Mama” and “Queen of Memphis” went to the top of the charts. Three more huge hits followed, “Trashy Women”, “When You Leave That Way You Can Never Go Back”, and “She Never Cried”. “Trashy Women” would lead to a Grammy nomination and become their signature song. That album with six hits and over four million sales brought Confederate the Academy of Country Music’s Best New Group Award in 1993 as well as numerous nominations from the Country Music Association and the British Country Music Foundation. Brittany 5K walk/run held at Lake Park 5K

Despite the 35 degree weather, about 150 runners and walkers came out to support the eighth annual Brittany 5K run at Lake Park this past weekend. This event is part of the 140 events nation-wide that raises awareness for Williams Syndrome this month.

May is William Syndrome Awareness month, and throughout the country, there are walks, golf outings, car washes, and other events to help promote Williams Syndrome awareness. “We like to promote health and wellness and that’s why we chose the 5K,” said Nanci Rogers, coordinator of the Brittany 5K. “And also to promote awareness of Williams Syndrome and just the community spirit and the businesses that support us every year.

We just appreciate their generosity.” First place overall in male and female received a one-year membership to Kids America. Medals were also given to first, second, and third place in each age division for male and female. All money raised went to the Williams Syndrome Association. Gladstone Joseph, a United Methodist Pastor from Annanagar, South India, will be in Coshocton County on June 9 to speak at two different locations. He will be at Bakersville Presbyterian Church at 9:30 a.m. and Fresno Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m.

Rev. Gladstone Joseph, an amazing man, is clearly transformed by the gospel of God. He ministers in one of the poorest slums imaginable and is highly respected by reverends and ministers in his district and by the people he serves.

Featured along with Rev. Joseph will be Dr. Patrick Johnston will be Dr. Patrick Johnston and The Johnston Family Singers, who are from Zanesville.

Dr. Patrick Johnston is from Dresden, Ohio. He has authored numerous books and is the father of eight children who make up the Johnston Family Singers. He is the family doctor of Rev. and Mrs. Peter Mathewson, who pastor both churches.

Keep your eye on the target COSHOCTON - Over 500 archery enthusiasts from Ohio and other states including North Carolina, Kentucky, Michigan, Indiana and a group from Canada took part in the Rinehart 100, which features 100 foam archery targets, with 50 targets featuring African animals and 50 targets featuring more well-known American animals like moose, bear and others. The African side of the event had a life-size giraffe that was popular along with an elephant, gazelle, bat and many others.

The event was held at the Coshocton County Sportsmen’s Association and was coordinated

by Jim Lauvray and Karl Steiner with many volunteers helping set up the targets and routing the course. Lauvray said that Steiner found out the company was looking for a location in Ohio to hold the event and that the local facility was ideal and the event is a way to make some good money for the club.

The Coshocton County Sportsmen’s Association will be sponsoring their annual youth program this summer with the last day to register being June 6 from 4 to 5 p.m. at

the club’s facility. A parent must be present to register. The six week program features air rifle, twenty-two rifle, archery, fishing and trap for older youth. Dates are June 6, 13 and 20, then July 11, 18 and 24. The first night (June 6) includes a one hour safety meeting from 5 to 6 p.m. with all other evenings from 6 to 8 p.m.

2013 Relay for Life Teams 37 local teams raise over $112,000 for cancer research at 18th annual Coshocton County Relay for Life Keene United Methodist Church raised almost $17,500 for the Relay, earning them the number one spot for monies raised.

Veterans encouraged to apply for new ID card CONTRIBUTED TO THE BEACON COSHOCTON - The Coshocton County Recorder’s Office in cooperation with the Coshocton County Veteran’s Service Office is pleased to announce a new initiative benefiting our United States Military Veterans.

This program allows Coshocton County Veterans to obtain a document identification card from the Recorder’s office. This card will display a picture of the veteran as well as various information regarding his or her service to our country.

In Ohio, the office of the County Recorder is responsible for maintaining Veterans’ military service discharge records, known in military parlance as a DD214 form. These discharge records are utilized by Veterans to prove their eligibility for certain benefits their military service has earned. This card contains their specific document number, so the discharge record can be rapidly located when needed.

In order to receive an identification card, a Veteran must record their military discharge with the Coshocton County Recorder’s Office and show two forms of identification. They can be a driver’s license, social security card, certified birth certificate, an identification card from the United States Dept. of Veterans Affairs, or any other identification card issued by the United States Federal Government. No other forms of identification will be accepted when the document identification card is issued. The card will also need to be renewed every four years. The fee will be $1 to cover the cost of the card. After an ID card is issued, Veterans are requested to visit the Veterans Service Office at 318 Main Street, Courthouse, to have their ID placed on file.

COSHOCTON - History is rich in Coshocton County!

Nestled between two great cities, Columbus and Cleveland, Roscoe Village welcomes visitors from all over to share the history of this beautifully-restored 1800s canal town. A great line up of lectures has been put together for 2013.

Commemorating the100th anniversary of the great 1913 flood, Dave Neuhardt started off the 2013 lecture series by sharing HOOVER a presentation on the flood.

Roscoe’s own Alice Hoover will be the presenter for the second lecture of the year with Roscoe Rises from The Ashes on June 9 at 2 p.m. in the Visitor Center Theater. Alice returns in costume as a resident from Old Roscoe to tell stories of the conflagrations and firebugs which plagued the town from 1835 to 1912. With hearty pioneer spirits the town residents rose up and rebuilt after disasters. Guests will hear the stories of real people and how they dealt with adversity.

Hoover is a graduate with honors from Otterbein University. Her husband Dick, is a retired United Methodist pastor. They have two sons.

Alice taught elementary school for 25 years, retiring from Coshocton Lincoln Elementary. She is the organist at the Presbyterian Church in Coshocton. As an historical dramatist, she portrays 30 Biblical and historical women.

Additional lectures will be Everyday Life Among 18th Century Native Americans by Roger Moore on Sept. 15 and Feast or Famine: The Rise and Fall of ‘Main Street’ by Ken Smailes on Nov. 20. All lectures will be at 2 p.m. in the Visitor Center Theater.

RELIEF IN SIGHT The fifth annual Riders 4 Relief motorcycle show and benefit for local food banks added a new twist this year with a National Onion Ring eating contest sponsored by the Warehouse Steak ‘n Stein. Mike “The Coshocton Crusher” Bechtol, (pictured), joined with three other local participants; Cyrus “Lord of the Rings” Granger, Shawn “Sloppy” Medley and Chris “Paralyzer” Unger, along with nine other eaters in the event. Nationally known eaters took home the major prizes but the local participants drew much applause and support from the crowd, who cheered them on as they downed another tray of the famous onion rings. Bechtol was announced as the local champion. Debbie Chilcote, who helps coordinate the event with Amy Taylor, said, “It’s turning out to be a great day for us. It was very cold this morning when we got here at 6 a.m., but we have a great crowd and it’s a great feeling to be able to support such a good cause. All of the monies raised go to our local food pantries. No matter how bad things are in Coshocton, people always pull together to help the other person. And that means a lot to me.”

Pastor Mark Granger of New Life Ministries, said, “We love all of the motorcycles that are here. We can celebrate this day and everything going on. It’s exciting; we’re just raising money for extra food. Schools are now out, so there are no lunches and breakfasts so this helps us put some extra food in the bags now.” Granger said that the senior citizen group is now the biggest group for need. We noticed this last May and June. They are being forced to come in with medical and medicine costs. I love serving the veterans, our senior citizens, working people and just those that are in need.”

Pastor Granger said that people can drop food off at the church any day of the week from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or they can send a check to New Life Ministries Food Pantry, PO Box 423, Coshocton, Ohio 43812.

Mike Bechtol, who participated in the onion ring eating contest, said, “This was my first ever onion ring eating contest and only my second competitive eating event – the first being the chicken wings in Chili. At first I was trying to figure out a way to do this with dignity and in a dignified manner, and I reconciled the fact that that wasn’t going to happen. That was quite a liberating thought and so I just went up there and let ‘er rip.

I had a good time, it was fun and we made it a little bit competitive with those national eaters. Especially at an event like this you have to enjoy the day, helping Riders 4 Relief. A lot of people turned out here on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and I had a lot of fun.”

John Larson, owner of the Warehouse Steak ‘n Stein, thanked all the participants and everyone for coming out on a great day for a great cause.

COSHOCTON – Members of the Coshocton Youth Chorale performed their last concert of the season on Friday, May 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Roscoe United Methodist Church. The group of high school students demonstrated their many talents as they not only sang everything from sacred music to Broadway show tunes, but a few members performed that evening on the violin, bass, drums, and trumpet during various songs.

The choir is under the direction of Mr. Charles R. Snyder.

As many of the choir members will say, it’s not about the music that makes them keep coming back year after year, but their friendships they make on and off the stage.

“I made a lot of new friends and it’s really fun because you get to learn more challenging music,” said Sarah Holmes, first-year member, from River View. Holmes also previously performed in the Coshocton Children’s Choir, also directed by Mr. Snyder.

“We definitely go at a much faster pace,” said Sarah Kittner, first year member from River View, who also previously performed in the children’s choir. “It brings a new meaning to the songs. I’ve sung some of these songs in other choirs and it brings a whole new meaning to the song. He (Mr. Snyder) teaches life lessons that I’ll carry around with me forever. I’m a better

Alumni Banquet: The 109th annual Conesville High School Alumni Banquet will be Saturday, June 1 at Conesville Elementary School. There will be a social hour at 4 p.m. and roll call and dinner at 6:30 p.m. The classes of 1933, 1938, 1943, 1948, 1953, 1958, and 1963 will be honored. Several $100 scholarships will be given to the 2013 River View High School graduates who attended Conesville Elementary as a youth. The cost of the meal is $10 per person. Participants in the volunteer program have included adults as well as teens whose time spent volunteering led them to pursue careers in health care.

COSHOCTON - During the ceremony, the names of seventy eight Coshocton County veterans who passed away since Memorial Day 2012 were read by Russell Hammond and a bell was rung by Jim Barstow. Flags in honor of each veteran were placed along Main Street by members of Boy Scout Troop 402 and Cub Scout Pack 402. Balloons were released representing each veteran by Girl Scout Troop 2527.

Taps was played by Coshocton High School junior Josh Mitchell and sophomore Timothy Meyers. Opening remarks and emceeing the parade was Herb Tidrick, Coshocton County Assistant Veterans Service Officer.

The invocation and benediction was given by Army veteran Reverend Diana Caton. The Coshocton High School band, under the direction of Barry Hardesty, performed the National Anthem.

Following the ceremony, all veterans were treated to a free lunch at the Coshocton American Legion Post 65.
