I KNOW MOST PEOPLE would argue that spring is the best time of year to focus on cleaning — and I could definitely always use a reminder to wash my makeup brushes. But my favourite thing about this season is just embracing simple pleasures, whether it’s a sunny afternoon walk with my dog or trying on a bright new lipstick. When the snow melts and the flowers begin to bloom, everything starts to feel fresh and new again. That’s why flipping through this innovation issue makes me feel so inspired. If you love Van Gogh’s Starry Night as much as I do, you’ll want to check out some brilliant tips on how to perfect the galactic manicure trend (page 20) at home. Or try a cute new look with a celebrity hairstylist’s tips on how to get space buns (page 23). You’ll find your new favourite mascara (page 13) or lip gloss (page 14), and some exciting new hair care launches to help fight frizz (hello, April showers!) and preserve colour (page 18). There’s also plenty of new skincare to help you upgrade your routine (page 16 and page 30). And don’t forget to check out a quick breakdown of how retinaldehyde can help smooth and even out dull complexions after the dreary winter (page 49), plus some exciting new innovations in cosmetology (page 25).
