We congratulate the winners of The World Championship in Massage 2019 who received their medals with great emotion. The development of part of the competition we could see from Ecuador through social networks. My personal thanks to Jean-Guy de Gabriec, Founder of the World Wellness Weekend and judge of the World Championship in Massage this year, for sending us information about this incredible event and for his management to achieve this important interview a few hours after having made the World Championship. Thanks to Jeppe, organizer of the same for his kindness and time to answer our questions to make this article.
Jeppe Tengbjerg mentalizer of the World Championship in Massage. Massage therapist with a long career. Diplomas from the most important massage schools in the world, endorse their professional education. He explored and studied each massage technique and manipulation in the western and eastern hemisphere. His journey has been long and he learned that massage is an integral technique, that the true Massage therapist must seek his emotional balance and consider it an honor to massage a patient who needs to feel good. He founded The International Massage Association where he has worked for the benefit of Massage therapists not only in his country Denmark, but also for the rest of the world. Jeppe knew there was much more to do and created and organized the World Championship in Massage. Thank you for accepting this interview for Ecuador. 多What does it mean for you to receive a massage therapy, or to be the therapist? "For me, massage treatments are good for my physical body and give me inner peace, even when I'm the one doing it." 多Do you believe or have you confirmed if there really are energies that the masseuse can put in his patient through his hands? Are they real or is it just a New Age belief? "I studied both Thai massage, Chinese medicine and Swedish massage. I'm a fan of both worlds (east and west). " 多What is the best school or institute in the world to study Massage? "There are many wonderful schools. However, I would like to highlight, for example. ITM-International Training Massage School and Watpo Thai Traditional Medical and Massage School, in Thailand for their frankness and choice of language (English) ". 多The massage therapist should only study and perform maneuvers and techniques with skill and perfection, or should he study some technique such as meditation or yoga to complement his integral professional development? "A massage therapist is better if he / she is in balance, therefore, the massage therapist should supplement their daily life as for example with: Yoga or meditation." - This year the World Health Organization (WHO) included professional burnout or "burnout" in the International Classification of Diseases. Professional burnout is described as "a syndrome" resulting from chronic stress at work and characterized by three elements: "a feeling of exhaustion", "negative feelings related to their work" and a "low productivity". Reasons enough to perform a massage. Do you consider that massage therapists should recognize these symptoms in their patients, and confirm with a doctor if it is this new syndrome? "Exhaustion is a good topic to deal with. It will be a very good and important topic in all massage schools."
-During the development of the Championship there were surprises, some special anecdote that you want to share. Like: ÂżWhat was the most unusual tool a participant has used for a massage? "Fire :-)" đ&#x;”Ľđ&#x;”Ľ ÂżHow many participants from Latin America have registered for the World Massage Championship to date? "200 participants in total, from all over the world. Latin Americans: 1 from Peru, 1 from Venezuela, 1 from Mexico. In addition, there were judges from Brazil and Argentina. " ÂżWhat is your suggestion for the masseurs about the best massage techniques they should learn? "Both the east and the west have many good massage techniques, I recommend the masseurs first become experts of only one method, and acquire a lot of experience, before committing to learning new techniques." -The trends exist in all industries. As a massage expert, leader and influential person in the world of massage, ÂżWhat is the trend or the technique that will become the protagonist in the near future? "The trend is a fusion of Swedish massage and Thai massage, where the recipient's body is massaged, the joints move and the muscles stretch." ÂżWhat have been your experiences, vision and conclusions after each championship and what satisfactions did you leave this year's championship? "The best part of the World Massage Championship is that the participants receive so much inspiration and connect and teach each other, no matter what country they are from, they only share their experiences and the Championship becomes a true integration of many nations. " -We have read the information on its website where it clearly explains all the objectives and regulations about the World Massage Championship that takes place in Denmark, but we would like you to please invite all masseuses from Ecuador and Latin America who wish to participate to visit their website and their contact links so they can know about the activities carried out by the International Massage Association and the World Massage Championship. From Ecuador to observe the environment in the images we saw on social networks, we had the perception that the concept of this Championship in terms of competition, is not even remotely similar to those made in the different sports disciplines. We were impressed by the fact that it is about the recognition of inspiration, dedication and the trajectory of the competitor who strives to demonstrate his excellence as a massage professional in the different categories during this competition. Well deserved congratulations to the New Champions.
Normally the work environment of a massage therapist is a spa, wellness place designed with a beautiful decoration suitable for the clients to feel an atmosphere of comfort. A Spa is a place of peace and tranquility, the ideal place where a person can go to receive a massage, relax and feel relief from muscle pain almost always caused by stress. In this environment silence abounds that is only interrupted by a light instrumental music to contribute to relaxation. The pleasant aromas of oils and incense that are perceived also help this purpose. The massage therapist carries out his work in the best possible way, learning day by day, accumulating experiences, updating his knowledge ... because it is his vocation. By touch, manipulations in different degrees of pressure. The connection that the massage therapist develops between your mind and your hands, as main tools of work ... is something magical. The hands of the massage therapist with training and experience slide and go directly to the pain areas without the patient having mentioned it at any time before starting the therapy. Discover in his patient ailments forgotten by time, but that have always been there. He finds them and eliminates them, giving that patient a better quality of life from then on. This is how the days of a massage therapist take place, keeping in their memories with great joy, each new experience that is appreciated and appreciated, because it will surely help a new patient the next morning. But suddenly! ... there is a breaking point in his usual days of work. The massage therapist is on his way to the airport to take a plane to Denmark. He wants to get to the World Championship in Massage in time. It is one of the 200 Massage therapists, from more than 40 countries, who decided to pack their bags and head to Copenhagen to be a competitor of this great Championship. Some came from countries from very distant continents, to participate in one or several massage categories that the Competition demands. The everyday environment to which they are accustomed is no longer one of peace and relaxation. During the Championship the atmosphere that surrounds it is of an incessant movement of unknown people. Seeing faces of different ethnicities, who speak other languages, costumes that represent the origin of very different countries, is part of the set of new experiences that are lived in The World Championship in Massage. We could say that the synergies of essential oils used daily in their massages have now become human synergies. The massage therapist who comes to compete, even in the midst of many voices, conversations, advertisements, people who travel hastily ... manages to find his calm, his inner balance and the concentration necessary to perform the best massage of his life. At the end of the championship all those unknown faces become new friends. They shared an extraordinary experience that will be in their minds and in their hearts for a lifetime. All competitors are champions, some must fly many hours back to their country of origin. Most massage therapists are very simple. If you are one of the privileged people that travels around the world and usually massages, it is possible that your massage therapist is one of the champions of The World Championship in Massage. Many thanks to Jeppe Tengbjerg for answering our questions we wish him success in the realization of his next Massage Championships and we hope to receive updated news of his activities in favor of massage and massage therapists. We invite you cordially to know Ecuador and our Galapagos Islands, through you we extend the invitation to all the members of your Association and to all the massage therapists of the world.
