THE CURB APPEAL OF SOME HOMES is so enticing, we can’t wait to see what’s on the inside. This home, built by Eagle Creek Homes, was a favorite stop on the 2023 Spring Parade of Homes and has earned “The Best of Spring 2023” honors. The commanding exterior features beautiful stonework, plentiful windows and a uniformed palette that come together in a superb modern design. It is an exquisite introduction to what lies beyond. You only get one first impression and this front elevation does not disappoint.

Clear Views

An abundance of large windows bring the outside in and with regular cleaning by Squeegee Squad, the views are never less than perfect. The company utilizes a five-step window washing process that uses a non-toxic solution that is safe for the environment. They prioritize safety through the proper use of ladders, and the occasional use of water-fed poles using streak-free pure water. Crew members are professional, uniformed, and friendly and take great care both inside and outside of your home.

Since 2002, Eagle Creek Homes has been building beautiful custom homes throughout Michigan —from the lakeshore to Lansing and from St. Joseph to Traverse City with many locations in between. Homeowners appreciate their flexible approach that allows for changes that ensure the customer gets exactly what they want. Clients make selections and customize the details to fit their lifestyle. Stairway

A single stair stringer and vertical metal spindles by GR Metal Works make a statement walking into this stunning custom home. The modernization of the open solid wood treads on the single metal stringer give the feeling of a floating stairway to the upper and lower levels. The vertical metal spindles are timeless and traditional with a modern twist.

Countertops

The U Quartz Carrara Venato Countertops, from Advanced Interiors, features a luxurious and timeless finish with white veining. This non-porous surface is resistant to stains, scratches, and heat. It is a long-lasting and low-maintenance option.

Cabinetry

The Wellborn Alto Onyx Cabinets, from Advanced Interiors, feature modern cabinet doors made from solid maple in a rich deep finish. The urethane finish is resistant to stains, scratches, and fading. This contemporary design isavailable in a variety of sizes and configurations.

Fraser is happy to help in any capacity. The goal is to create the client’s ideal home — “The home you want without compromise.” A clear and concise description of their process is shared on Eagle Creek’s website: eaglecreekhomes.net.

There are many qualities that separate the professionals from the rest and Eagle Creek’s honest approach is remarkable. “Our upfront pricing is almost always within 1 percent of the original quote — as long as the client is honest from the very beginning on what they want in their homes,” said owner Eric DeVries.

“We have an incredible team of suppliers that we’ve been building since the beginning,” said DeVries. “We have found subs and suppliers that have the same view of customer service and quality that we share. We do a thorough job of vetting our subs by checking their work prior to starting with us.”

Flooring

The tile flooring in the kitchen, from Main Street Flooring & Interiors, offers exceptional durability for high traffic areas, easy maintenance with water resistance, and a wide variety of designs to match any style. Its practicality, longevity and aesthetic appeal make it a preferred choice for both residential and commercial spaces.

The Wellborn Alto Onyx Cabinets, from Advanced Interiors, are also a beautiful addition to the primary bathroom. Solid maple cabinet doors and drawers in a rich deep color are the perfect complement to the tile floor. This design allows for towel or other storage below.

The lovely tile in the primary bathroom, from Main Street Flooring & Interiors, is Shaw’s Resurgence Isabella and it evokes the look and feel of craftsmanship established in a bygone era. This collection honors a time when homes were fitted with one-of-a-kind accents, lending art to unexpected places and is great for walls and floors.

Double glass front entry doors welcome guests into the home where an open concept kitchen and dining room are immediate focal points. The neutral, ceramic tile flooring under foot complements the dark cabinetry and furnishings. Unique pendant lights above the island and dining table enhance the modern feel. Earth tones in the island seating and perimeter accessories offer warmth to the area as does the live-edge hickory dining table. The space is open to a chic living room with 15-foot ceilings, clean lines and posh furnishings. The elongated fireplace emphasizes the modern feel yet adds a cozy feel.

“It was important to these home owners that even though this home has a very contemporary design that it still be comfortable,” said Fraser. “We wanted to make sure the overall design fit the style appropriately but that it was softened — that the overall color palette was on the lighter side with mild accents and stains.”

A floating staircase with hickory treads also captures attention in the main living space. The natural beauty of the wood grain is a striking contrast to a black railing and spindles. “Along with the custom-stained hickory wood stair treads, we brought in a local fabricator to create the stair system supports and railing,” said Fraser. “The stairs are a true work of art created from just a magazine picture the client found

Garage Doors

These CHI doors, from Zylstra Door, are a blend of industrial design and ultra modern — the perfect complement to this exterior. They are aluminum full view doors made to fit any contemporary garage door application. Customization is easy as they come in many powder coat colors and styles of glass. They are a great option for pool houses and garages converted into living spaces as they offer so much natural light and bring the outdoors to your interior.

Cultured Stone

The home’s tremendous curb appeal is in large part due to the cultured stone from Preferred Masonry Exterior installations are either “drystacked” (installed without a gap and stacked on top of one another) or “mortar joint” (installed with a 3/8th-inch gap between each stone, then filled with mortar). On interior fireplace installations the typical method is installing the stone directly onto cement board. Either way, the results are beautiful and cost effective compared to other stone choices.

and brought to us before construction began.” The upper level is home to three bedrooms, one with en suite bathroom while the other two share a Jack and Jill bathroom between.

The main floor primary suite is adjacent to the open living room and offers beautiful views of the property. The bathroom includes a beautifully tiled shower and massive walk-in closet.

A well-appointed laundry room, large pantry, powder room, craft room, and cozy back porch complete the main floor offering plenty of space for a growing family or a couple who loves to entertain. The lower level features a game room, a comfortable family room with sliding doors that lead to the backyard. This level also hosts another bedroom and full bath as well as an abundance of storage space.

The home’s modern design was met with experienced craftsmanship and integrity, continuing Eagle Creek Homes’ reputation for creating homes of the highest quality. “I would say we are a traditional builder and now we’re getting more and more into modern homes,” said DeVries. “We use Builder Trend software and keep projects on track, always letting the customer see the calendar two weeks ahead of time. This was one of our first real modern homes and I believe our team knocked it out of the park proving we can build anything.” ❂
