AAppliances
THE TREND FOR QUIET LUXURY is on the top of the list for today’s dream kitchen. Sound-minimizing features are being included in everything from dishwashers to washing machines — even garbage disposals are becoming less noisy. With open concept floorplans usually having the kitchen right next to the family room, quiet appliances are a must. Hi performance appliances are also on the rise. Since most appliances are used daily, it makes sense to invest in the best. The ease of cleaning and faster task time are also important factors in the world of today’s appliances.
Induction Ranges & Cooktops
Rather than heating the surface of the cooktop, induction cooktops create heat directly inside of pots and pans. Induction surfaces use electromagnetic energy to interact with compatible cookware through a copper coil, so you can expect less heat loss throughout the process and elements that are highly responsive to temperature changes. Also, if you prefer the sleek and easy-to-clean surface of an electric cooktop but the control and responsiveness of gas burners, an induction range or cooktop may be the right fit for you.
Undercounter Refrigerators
The trend of undercounter refrigeration is hot and manufacturers are responding with dual undercounter refrigerators and refrigerator drawers. The idea of refrigeration in nontraditional kitchen spaces is also a favored trend — it can be anywhere in the house, wherever you want to grab a cold beverage. The kitchen is still a favorite spot for these units but convenience is the idea and it’s fantastic.
Steam Ovens
Healthy lifestyle changes happen at the gym and in the kitchen. In fact, you can’t out train your diet. The rise in steam oven sales might be a testament to this. Steam is a versatile source of heat that helps to both power and sanitize your world. Steam ovens offer a healthy method of cooking that can grant you squeaky-clean results. There are also convection steam ovens that provide fast and healthy results.

Sustainability
Green living is one of the top trends for 2024, whether in terms of using recycled materials in kitchen and bath appliances or low-water usage appliances. Putting the planet and your wallet first is always a good idea. These types of appliances can help you save on electricity and lower your carbon footprint and make a great addition to your home.
Walk-in Refrigerators
First it was the butler’s pantry and the walk-in pantry. Then it became full-on, second hidden kitchen’s or sculleries. Now, believe it or not, walk-in refrigerators are on the rise. Restaurant-style, walk-in refrigerators are being utilized in homes and why not? It’s a very desirable scenario where everything is accessible and visible, and cold storage of just about anything isn’t an issue.
Color
A kitchen that reflects your style helps inspire culinary creativity all your own. The popularity of the all-white kitchen is losing steam and instead, homeowners are yearning for colors that inspire. Choose a bold, dark color to add contrast and mood or a soft neutral for a warm, inviting feel. You can also mix and match appliances, pairing bold pops of color with more neutral shades like stainless steel, black or white appliance finishes. For color enthusiasts who want to make a more adventurous statement, consider incorporating major kitchen appliances with bold colors — the options are out there: bright, vibrant and colorful.
CCabinetry
NOTHING ELEVATES A KITCHEN’S DESIGN like its cabinetry. Not only does it determine how much storage you have and how you’re able to organize your kitchen essentials, but it has a heavy influence on your kitchen’s overall design. As we go forward in 2024, entertaining, organization, comfort and individual style are the important factors kitchen when designing a kitchen. From fluted details to contrasting colors, today’s kitchen seems to be making a statement more than ever.
Wood Grain
One hot trend being seen almost everywhere in design is the color brown and anything brown-adjacent, especially woods. The popularity of wood grain is on the rise, showcasing its organic beauty and the connection to nature that it brings to a room. Unpainted kitchen cabinets are the rage right now. For such a long time natural wood looks seemed to be avoided in fear of dating our kitchens and baths. However, wood cabinets are now in vogue because of the intense organic warmth they bring to a space. Lighter wood finishes like bleached-out natural woods and white oak with a light or natural tone are current go-tos but today’s appreciation for wood goes far beyond.
Mixing Colors
Contrasting cabinets are still popular and most likely will be for quite some time—it’s a great way to incorporate color without over doing it. Most often, the contrasting color is on the island cabinetry, differing from the shade on the perimeter cabinets with a more dramatic tone. Colors are going towards the more earthy, muted, and moody shades, with the most popular choices being blue, gray, black, and warm brown tones.
Fluted Details
Including decorative cabinets in a kitchen design continues to be popular, adding originality and sophistication. Specifically, fluted details are making a surge. The texture-adding design is showing up everywhere from kitchen islands and bathroom vanities to living room furniture. The detail adds visual texture and interest underneath countertops, beverage bars, and more.

CCountertops
A VITAL PART OF a kitchen's functionality and décor, countertops are really the base of a kitchen’s design. They take up a considerable amount of visual space and they are where all the action takes place. Finding the right material, color, and finish matters a great deal. And while durability is a key factor, making sure your kitchen doesn’t look outdated too soon is also important. Trends come and go but good design lasts and lasts. Here’s what to consider in 2024.
Natural Inspiration
Elements inspired by nature are on the sprouting up everywhere and countertops are no exception. Expect to see countertops with warmer undertones, terracotta hues, and colorful marbling, such as emerald green or deep, deep blue veining. We’ll also see a return to more natural and textured finishes, like honed or leathered surfaces. These finishes offer a softer look and feel and hide fingerprints. Glossy finishes are starting to lose their popularity, as they can be difficult to maintain.
Sintered Stone
Sintered stone is a synthetic material made entirely of minerals and formed by heat. Unlike engineered stone or quartz countertops, which use resins as binders, sintered stone contains no binders. The materials are heated to such a high temperature and pressed that the minerals fuse, essentially becoming their own binder. Hot pans can rest on it without melting or scorching the surface. The material can be chopped on, cut on, scratched, stained, and scored, to little or no effect. The sun's UV rays will not fade sintered stone.
Mixed Materials
One cool trend that is not going away is the use of mixed materials on countertops. Pairing natural stone with wood, or wood with a sleek metal like stainless steel creates a unique and visually interesting look in the kitchen. The use of different materials not only adds dimension to a space, but it also allows for more customization for how you use your kitchen and in terms of color and texture combinations

HOMES ARE WARMING UP in 2024 and our floors are a big reason. Design trends are pointing toward warmer tones in our floors paired with different size formats and tonalities to create patterns. Homeowners and professional designers are increasingly drawn to medium and darker wood ranges and brown, earth-toned flooring. The result is a warm yet moody design that really increases that feeling of home.
Walnut Hardwood
In line with the resurgence of traditional elements, color integration, and pattern in our homes, there's a return to rich, walnut hardwood floors over modern washed gray and bleached oak. This darker finish blends beautifully with vintage furniture and decor and adds a historic depth, saturation and richness to any space.
Low & High Pile
Rugs that mix high and low piles are trending for 2024, proving carpet can make a statement. The unique mix of touchable textures evokes a sense of coziness and comfort, especially for the colder winter months. Adding a neutral rug with various textures and piles is one of the easiest ways to turn your floor into a focal point. A dimensional rug, featuring a combination of high and low piles, can significantly enhance the sense of luxury and texture beneath your feet.
Patterned Tiles
Patterned tiles have become a popular trend because they offer a fun way to infuse personality and character into a space. These tiles come in a wide range of designs, from intricate geometric patterns to floral motifs and everything in between. This versatility allows you to find a pattern that suits your style, whether it's modern, traditional, or eclectic.

GGlass & Mirrors
NATURAL LIGHT IN OUR HOMES is one of the most important elements for many reasons. Using quality, organic materials in our homes is also very important. In recent years an increased use of glass and mirrors has helped to accomplish both. All-glass showers, interior glass doors, glass railings, antiqued mirror decor, and many other innovative ideas are putting glass to use. And, when it comes to durability, glass does not corrode with exposure to water, crack due to extreme temperatures or change color when exposed to sunlight. Glass is extremely durable, will look great for a long period of time and keeps spaces bright and airy.
Glass Showers
Frameless glass showers and shower doors are in huge demand. Remodelers are starting to push the design envelope, using new materials and hardware like coated, water-repellent glass. This high-quality material is only slightly more expensive, and many homeowners feel this incredibly easy-to-clean surface is worth the added cost.
Glass Railings
Glass railing systems are gaining popularity because they create an open, spacious look while maintaining safety and durability. Customized systems are designed specifically for a client’s needs and preferences. They can be created in various styles and configurations, including curved, angled, or with custom etched or coloured glass. They can be tailored to match the architectural style of the home, creating a seamless and integrated look.
Wine Storage
Designers are especially fond of using glass for display purposes and what makes for a better display than a beloved wine collection. Wine “cellars” are being made in framed and frameless glass styles, making a wine collection visible even behind the door. And a frameless glass wine cellar is ideal for a climate-controlled environment.

LLighting
WHETHER YOU'RE IN THE MARKET for a new chandelier or are just looking to add visual interest with some table lamps, there are plenty of options to brighten your home and highlight your own style. Lighting is an essential component of any home, but it's also a way to express your personality and solidify your design preference.
Sculptural & Minimalist
Minimalist design is having a moment. The desire for our spaces to feel pared-back, calm and neutral aids in relaxation as we go about our busy lives. When our spaces are relatively unadorned, a few core pieces that have a strong visual character, such as a sculptural light, add interest and define the mood of a room. By choosing light solutions that are elegant, artistic pieces that serve as captivating focal points we also lend an expression of personal style.
Layering
We're becoming more in touch to the value of having different lighting effects available in our homes. For example, a ceiling light will always be useful to brighten spaces you use a lot, such as a kitchen. However, in a living room, it may be more enjoyable surround yourself in the warm, soft glow of a low-lit ambiance, created by a soft floor and table light working together. In a hallway, you might want to opt for a gentle, glowy mood created by a row of dimmable sconces.
Natural Materials
Another existing trend that is set to continue in 2024 is the use of natural materials in lighting fixtures. Think rattan, twine, leather, wood, and more. Nature is a rejuvenating place to spend time, and spaces that reflect this serene energy are extremely inviting. Lighting is a beautiful way to incorporate the natural into your home and natural textures are a great way to play with shadow design.
