It’s been quite a year for both schools and students alike, who have faced unprecedented challenges. But in the School House Spring/Summer 2021 issue we’re not dwelling on the past, but looking to a brighter future. Professor Geraint Jones examines the pros and cons of fair testing under Covid, while Max Davidson considers the merits of different curriculum changes – natural history, robots and climate change are exciting new additions. To this end, we’re also looking at how climate-conscious students are pushing for change within their schools, and Eleanor Doughty explores the new set of London names where a love of learning is in, but hot-housing is definitely out. Out of the school environment, we go on a walking pilgrimage around the UK with Dr Guy Hayward, and uncover gap years with a cultural twist.
