Cherry Tree Angling Club

Bungay Flower Club

The club has a long history having been formed in 1946 at its first headquarters of the now closed Cherry Tree pub in Bungay - hence the name. Over the years the club as grown and now has a membership of around 300. Run by a committee of volunteers, full membership is just £65 per year.

In addition to some quality stretches of the river Waveney including purpose-built swims at Dunburgh, the club also has three lovely still waters close to Bungay. These are: Ellingham Lake, Common Pond and Lay-by Pit. Visit www.bungaycherrytree.co.uk to find out more.

Formed 40 years ago in 1982, this active and successful club is always keen to encourage new members. Alongside regular demonstrations and talks, the club organizes other events such as lunches, afternoon teas and visits to open gardens.

Bungay Bowls Club

Believed to date to at least 1886, Bungay Bowls Club has been a part of the town for around 140 years. The club is based in Bardolph Road and runs nine teams in five leagues as well as entering all Suffolk (Bowls England) and EBF County Team Cup competition. Bungay Tennis Club

A small and friendly club catering for a range of abilities and ages located at Maltings Pavilion. Coaching sessions are available for those who wish to start the game from scratch or develop and improve their existing tennis skills.

Club session stake place on Monday and Thursday evenings and Saturday morning. With the benefit of newly laid artificial grass courts and floodlights, play is possible all year round and in most weather conditions! Contact bungaytennisclub@gmail.com for further details.

Bungay Black Dog Running Club

A friendly club encouraging all abilities to join them. In addition to running there are lots of social events on the calendar throughout the year so this really is a community. Bungay Army Cadets

Meetings take place at Community Centre on Upper Olland Street every Monday between 7:30pm - 9:30pm. You can join the Army Cadet Force if you are in year 8 or above. This is a great way to make new friends and gain new life and leadership skills that will set you up for life. Bungay Town Football Club

Known as the Black Dogs, Bungay Town FC was formed in 1925. The club now provide opportunity for football for men, women and juniors from age 4 to 50 from their base at the Maltings Meadows Sports Ground.

Bungay Cricket Club

Bungay Cricket Club was founded in 1860. There are two Saturday senior sides in the Norfolk Cricket Alliance and the Norfolk Cricket League, plus a Sunday side in the Mid-Norfolk Sunday Cricket League. The club also has a very strong junior section and runs under 9s, 11s, 13s, 15s and 17s in the Norfolk Alliance League.

Bungay Girl Guides

Girlguiding in Bungay and Earsham offers amazing opportunities for girls aged 5 – 18. The organization empowers girls and gives them to space to grow and confidence to get involved – no matter what their background or ability. The Waveney Bird Club has been established since 2008 and is open to anyone who is interested in joining. Whether you are a beginner with little knowledge of birds or an experienced bird watcher who wants to join others. There are regular talks and events and always plenty going on. Black Dog Arts

Black Dog Arts is a volunteer run organisation and aims to develop art and craft in the Bungay area. Membership is open to anyone who supports this aim. The 100 or so members range from professional artists, art teachers and students, to amateurs and enthusiasts.
