Vernon Blackmore and his team have now been at the Anchor for more than ten years. Our offering has developed into what we feel a quayside pub should be. Great beers, a friendly warm welcome, food that you would expect in a good British hostelry with additional dishes that reflect our backgrounds and passion. We want you to feel the history in the pub, so we’ve been very careful not to remove the old charm and character. The floor tiles may have been professionally cleaned, but they are still wobbly and remind you of sailors past spilling beer on them. However, a pub is about people, so come and enjoy it with us and let us welcome you in. Check out our website (displayed at the bottom of the page) for full details of opening times, menus and events. The Anchor in Woodbridge is part of the portfolio looked after by Vernon Blackmore and his team. Also check out our Woodbridge sister restaurant, Spice @ The Table, IP12 1BX and our country pubs: The Easton White Horse, IP13 0ED and The Duck, Campsea Ashe, IP13 0PT.

Enjoy locally sourced, freshly prepared food in this family and dog friendly pub, with all day opening hours (serving food all day every day, 7 days a week), seasonal menus and an extensive wine and gin list. This astounding 16th century Grade II listed building was purchased from Adnam’s by a private buyer in 2016, and was lovingly restored to showcase its beautiful original beams, large open fireplaces and elegant vaulted ceiling. Bramfield itself is a fascinating little village, and is home to the only church in Suffolk with a detached round bell tower. It’s also noted for its unusual ‘crinkle crankle’ walls, which can be seen from the pub’s gardens on the side of Bramfield Hall. Dogs on leads are most welcome here, with both the main bar and long bar available for four legged friends. Complimentary water bowls and Bonios are always on hand and the pub sells dog ice creams for a special treat. Not a dog fan? Request your table in The Snug, the stunning restaurant area. The pub holds a 5 star ‘Scores on the Doors’ Hygiene rating.
