2023-2024
It is with a great deal of pride that I welcome you to Southwold Rugby Club for the 2023/24 season.
After the disruption of Covid two years ago, it has proven difficult for all clubs to persuade players back for regular training and commitment to playing each Saturday.
It is to Southwold’s credit, as a club with half its catchment area being in the sea, that we had a successful season last year with the first team finishing a credible 6th in the league and the ladies also winning more matches than losing, finishing half way in their league. The seconds and youth sections struggled for players and opposition to play against, with the minis working hard providing a great future for our club.
We have a new coach in Mark Grigg, ably assisted by Alastair, Skip and Jim with a promising amount of players attending the pre-training sessions.
We have a fantastic club here with wonderful support from V.Ps, members and friends. Much work is going on at present by the committee and all the coaches for all the teams. The atmosphere in the clubhouse pre and post games is very good. All of this is so positive for the future of our wonderful club.
Please continue to support all the lunches, the 100 club and support for the players on the touch line to help promote our club to a successful future.
