EDITOR’S LETTER

Anyone who has visited my home knows that I’m the proud owner of white carpet (advice to anyone who’s considering making a purchase is that it’s extremely high maintenance!) So when I saw this bedroom inside Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons hotel in Oxfordshire in our hotel feature on page 17, I fell in love straight away and a visit is on my to-do list!

I love how groom Daniel is punching the air here after marrying his new wife Sophia. It was photographed by Chloe Browne at Caught the Light Natural Light Photography and he was wearing a tailor-made suit by Healy & Son. Turn to page 41 to read more. How beautiful is this sunset shot by DM Photography? Georgina and Sami enjoyed their reception at Danesfield House Hotel and Spa in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. Read more on page 28.

I adore black and white photography and the look of love here between Harriet and Andy on their wedding day has been beautifully documented in this photograph by Berkshire-based Emma Bettes Photography. Read all about it on page 35.

The menu celebrates 90 different herbs and vegetables from the two-acre kitchen garden and each dish is paired with wines from the extensive cellar. The lush gardens are an abundance of colour in summer and a walk around the seven pretty gardens leads to fragrant orchards and a mushroom valley. The individually designed suites echo owner Raymond’s travels, from the Far East to the Mediterranean. They reveal freestanding Victorian tubs, gold-leaf furniture and hand-painted ocean murals. From 15 to 50 guests (when restrictions lift), Provençal-style celebrations take place in the private dining room and there’s also a conservatory enjoying a private entrance and outdoor space. Micro wedding receptions can be held outside adjacent to the conservatory and blessings can be enjoyed in the picture-perfect gardens. 21

eorgina and Sami met at secondary school when they were 17. "Every weekend there used to be parties where we'd see each other, however, we didn't get on back then!" Georgina tells us. "He asked for my number once and I said no but he got it from a mutual friend anyway. We started talking and the rest, as they say, is history!" Sami proposed to Georgina during a trip to Bali in November 2018. "He'd arranged a seven-course dinner at an exclusive spot by the seaside, Georgina explains. "He waited until after the starter to propose and I “Due to the pandemic, I remember when he got down on one knee, his first line was was unable to have any 'you're probably not expecting bridesmaids however this…' and in my head, I was thinking….'I knew all along our second shooter that you were going to do this' acted like one, carrying because he had made it so my dress train and veil obvious! SETTING THE SCENE Georgina's parents married at the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead register office more than 40 years previously so it meant a lot to be married there. "It was also in the area that we'd both grown up in," Georgina explains. "Danesfield House Hotel was ideal for our wedding breakfast because it's stunning. The grounds are amazing and we visit regularly for walks and afternoon tea so knew it would be perfect for our photographs!" Because the couple were only allowed to have 15 guests at their wedding because of the restrictions that were in place, they seated everyone together at a large oval table. They chose simple centrepieces with a couple of candelabra decorated with artificial flowers and gave their guests Tunisian sweets in mini heart-shaped tins because Sami is Tunisian. “We fed our guests a delicious three-course meal,” Georgina explains, “and a three-tier naked cake that was originally designed for our larger wedding to feed

LOOKING THE PART “I wore a dress from Australian brand Stella York that I chose because of how simple and elegant I felt in it,” Georgina tells us. “I didn’t need to add to it much, I just chose some simple earrings, a crystal necklace, an elegant diamond bracelet, embellished hairpiece and my designer Christian Louboutin sandals.” Sami's suit was tailor-made and his shirt was personalised with his initials ‘SH’ which was a gift from Georgina's mum.

Summer days Harriet and Andy’s boho summer theme was accentuated with dusky pink touches Images courtesy of Emma Bettes Photography

Harriet and Andy Silk married on 7th August 2020 at Wycliffe Baptist Church followed by a reception at Harriet’s family home.

H

arriet and Andy met at university in Durham through the Christian Union. “We had both signed up to help with an event called ‘text a toastie’ where we delivered toasties to hungry students along with answers to their questions about the Christian faith,” Harriet tells us. “We enjoyed being in each other’s company and as we got to know one another better, I began to love how Andy was both kind and funny (a rare combination!) and how much he loved Jesus. I knew that Andy liked me too because I would sometimes look over at him, and find that he was looking right back at me!” 35 

Andy proposed to Harriet on 1st December 2019. “I knew that it was coming, and even suspected that it might be on that particular day, but Andy played it very cool and didn’t seem nervous at all! In the morning, he suggested that we go for a walk to the botanical gardens in Durham where we had visited when he officially asked me out which confirmed my suspicions!” Harriet tells us. “I was still surprised to see a bouquet on the side of the path as we walked along placed next to an envelope with ‘open me’ written on it. Inside was a poem that he’d written about me, and after I’d read it, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said ‘yes’ and was smiling for the rest of the day - we drove to our favourite beach, had a gin and tonic while watching the sunset to celebrate, and rang our family to tell them the good news. Here, Harriet tells us all about their special day with a summer boho and dusky pink theme.

ophia and Daniel first met in 2014 when they worked together at a health club but didn’t start dating until 2016. They became engaged on Christmas Eve in 2018 during a surprise proposal. “We went for a walk in Windsor Great Park that afternoon and it was such a pretty setting,” Sophia tells us. “It was a little bit misty and the sun was just about to set as Daniel turned to ask me to marry him. I thought we were getting a puppy for Christmas but it turned out that I was getting an engagement ring!”

SETTING THE SCENE The couple had originally planned on marrying in Italy and had already begun the process of finding a wedding planner to help organise everything, but after seeing some images of Hedsor House and visiting the venue, they were sold. "We attended a showcase there and as soon as we stepped through the doors, we both fell in love with it," Sophia says. "We knew straight away that this would be our wedding venue. We loved every aspect, from the long driveway leading to the house and the views from the “I was so excited and gardens to the beautiful Ballroom and wanted to start the the bridal suite – a real showstopper! celebrations. We also gave our guests three Truffalows by CocoaMallow each in salted caramel and honeycomb, hazelnut and Oreo flavours.”

“Seeing Sophia for the first time in her wedding dress was a very memorable moment for me.” – Daniel

LOOKING THE PART “I wore the dress called Giselle designed by Kelly Faetanini which was the complete opposite to what I thought I wanted but I saw it in the window of the bridal boutique and fell in love with it,” Sophia tells us. “It featured a simple “Little did we know that it silhouette but had a dramatic would be the last time that we train and was decorated with beautiful beaded embroidery. I wore a – it was the last big party of beautiful headpiece from Victoria the year.” – Sophia and Daniel Percival teamed with a pair of diamond stud earrings from my mum and step-dad, a beautiful Swarovski crystal bracelet from my maid-of-honour, Charlotte, and bridesmaid, Sian, and a stunning Tiffany & Co. necklace which was a gift from my husband-to-be on our wedding day.” Daniel wore a three-piece tailor-made dinner jacket with peak lapels designed and created by British tailor Graeme Healy from

Healy & Son. “Graeme’s father was a tailor on Savile Row in London and specialised in military uniform, so his classic styling and attention-to-detail was exquisite and the suit was perfect,” Sophia explains. “He teamed it with a bow tie and his groomsmen also wore a three-piece dinner jacket and bow tie but with shawl lapels that were different to Daniel's. Our beautiful bridesmaids wore gorgeous long-sleeve maxi tulle dresses in taupe blush.”

TIME TO CELEBRATE “We hired a string quartet to play throughout our ceremony and drinks reception who were amazing,” Sophia explains. “They played a selection of modern pop and rock songs and I walked down the aisle to Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles and we both walked up the aisle (after the ceremony) to Happy by Pharrell Williams. During the evening, we had a live eight-piece band, The London Function Band, who were superb and our guests loved them! They were able to play any style of music that we asked for so everyone was up and dancing which was a highlight!” 43

“Be present and just enjoy every moment. Take some time to step back just you two and take it all in as much as you can. It goes so quickly and before you know it, the day will be over. We had a really lovely moment together whilst our guests were finding their seats for the wedding breakfast – our string quartet were just finishing the set and offered to play one song, just for us, which was really special.” - Sophia and Daniel

We talk to some of the region’s most talented wedding photographers

We want to document our engagement with a pre-wedding shoot and maybe some studio-based couple portraits – what do you suggest?

WALLINGFORD PORTRAITS & WEDDINGS Tonja Fritz-Johnson is the photographer and proprietor behind this creative photography business. Tonja says: At Wallingford Portraits & Weddings, we offer a relaxed and unobtrusive service providing couples with a mix of formal, informal and creative images to reflect the emotions and cherished moments of their wedding. To ensure that they know in advance the quality of photography they’ll be getting, we offer a free engagement shoot with all of our wedding packages, so they can get used to having their picture taken and have some fun! Also, it gives us the chance to get to know them better, so that we are not strangers on the big day. All packages bear the current situation with Covid-19 in mind, so are very flexible. Couples can even split them over a couple of dates, should they decide to have a micro wedding this year and a big party at a later date. Should they wish to move any of their chosen dates, there is no extra charge.

PAIGE MARY PHOTOGRAPHY AND MAKEUP Paige Mary is a talented photographer and make-up artist. Paige Mary says: An engagement photo shoot is a great way of experiencing being in front of the camera and a superb opportunity to get to know your chosen wedding photographer before your special day. Ahead of your engagement shoot, we would decide on a suitable location together that feels right for both of you. My Engagement Photoshoot Package priced at £150 includes up to one hour of shooting, more than 20 high-resolution edited images and five fine art images (5x7 in size). Couples love my light, authentic photography style and the added reassurance of make-up touch-ups on the day. 07568 513 072 www.paigemaryphotography.co.uk/danny-and-holly www.instagram.com/paigemary.photography.mua

Vicky Lewis Photography based in Witney, Oxfordshire, tells us that one of the best parts of her job is meeting the amazing couples that she gets to photograph. “I love getting to know people and reassuring even the most camera-shy how I will take the awkwardness out of their portraits,” she tells us. “This is how I create images that capture the real smiles and genuine relationship and make every couple feel very special.” Vicky continues, “by limiting the number of couples that I photograph each year, I can dedicate my time fully to each wedding offering my relaxed and caring approach. Couples can enjoy the experience and receive beautiful, natural images that capture the love.” Vicky has currently expanded her micro and mini-wedding offering, visit her website to find out more. 07748 520 838 www.vickyphotography.co.uk www.instagram.com/vickylewisphotography

Gabrielle McMillan Photography based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire reveals her loves behind the lens. “The connection between people inspires me, and a wedding is a perfect occasion to photograph the love between couples and their friends and families,” she tells us. “All those beautiful connections and emotions celebrating two people who want to spend the rest of their lives together - photographing them as they unfold is such a privilege.”

Wendy Aldiss Timeless Wedding & Portrait Photography based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, is an award-winning business and owner Wendy tells us that what inspires her is two-fold, “firstly, I adore photography, and the combination of art and technology is so exciting which gives me a great degree of control over my business as a wedding and portrait photographer. Secondly, I love people - I’m a wife, mother, daughter and a businesswoman so can empathise with the diversity of family relationships and love nothing more than capturing the essence of family life. Weddings represent 70 per cent of my business and I consider myself hugely fortunate in doing what I love. Many of my couples remain clients for years enjoying family photography sessions and some have become our friends. Every enquiry offers untold experiences and no wedding or portrait session is ever the same which inspires me creatively.” 07768 980 604 https://wendyaldissportraitsandweddings.co.uk www.instagram.com/wendyaldissphotography

Loren Stone is the talented wedding, portrait, event and commercial photographer behind Berkshire-based Stone Photos. She says, “weddings are so unique, each person brings their personal touches and ideas to their special day. As I get to know each couple before their wedding, every detail of it is exciting to hear about. On the day, there’ll be things that I didn’t know about too - no wedding is ever the same and that’s what makes it so exhilarating!” She continues, “when I work with a couple, they often become friends and we keep in touch. The most wonderful thing for me is when they come to my studio for portraits, be it newborn photos, pet portraits or family shoots. It warms my heart to seem them again and watch their family grow.” Here is a selection of some of her favourite wedding snaps. “This ice cream picture is fantastic, I knew the couple were hiring a van but it was such a hot day so proved to be very popular with their guests! A wedding at Carter’s Steam Fair is always plenty of fun, and the bridesmaids wearing Cath Kidston-inspired dresses is so beautiful. They also had a cake table that was filled with Cath Kidston-themed treats! 07956 393 844 | www.stonephotos.co.uk www.instagram.com/stonephotosphotography

David Bostock is an award-winning wedding photographer based on the Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire border. He takes beautiful, dramatic and perfectly-timed photos and lets his images do the talking. David tells us, “although weddings have essentially the same structure, they are each completely unique in their own way and that is what keeps me interested in photographing them.” He continues, “it’s the people themselves that make the day so special because their personalities shine. I have, since day one, worked by the mantra ‘shoot each wedding like it’s your very first one and that your life depends on it’ and 450 weddings later, I’m never complacent on a wedding day and always looking for creative ways to capture it.” 01865 400 070 | https://davidbostockphotography.co.uk www.instagram.com/davidbostock 57 

LOVE CONQUERS ALL Oxfordshire-based wedding and event Potters Instinct Photography is owned and run by Kevin Potter whose documentary style produces special signature photographs. He tells us, “to capture core memories for couples is what made me decide to become a wedding photographer 10 years ago, and it’s the anticipation, inquisitiveness and excitement that still gets me fired up each time that I shoot a wedding.” He continues, “I have such a passion for wedding photography and the reasons are plentiful. The technical knowledge that you have to learn and implement is vast, and the emotional roller coaster that you experience throughout the wedding day that you’re photographing is highly addictive. But, if I had to choose only one thing that I have been drawn to throughout my 10-year career, it’s the euphoria in making an extra-special core memory for my couples.” Kevin tells us about two love stories he documented during 2020, a year where the wedding industry was disrupted and couples left despondent at having to change their plans. “I met a bride-to-be called Melissa. She and her husband Jamie were so determined to get married in 2020 and it became my only full wedding of the year. My memory of it was when her mum gave Melissa the veil that she had worn on her wedding day 30 years previously, almost to the date. Her mum lovingly offered her daughter some heartfelt advice, and it was like they were the only two people in the room. I was so engrossed through the tiny viewfinder on my camera, completely focused on the emotion that was radiating from this tender mother-and-daughter moment, that I couldn’t help but cry myself. It became one of the most treasured photos for Melissa from her entire wedding day.” Another fond memory of Kevin’s from 2020 was with a couple called Fearn and Chris. “They decided to have an intimate micro wedding in the centre of Oxford and as we made our way through the narrow streets taking photographs as we walked, I was snapping some amazing images,” Kevin says. “As we entered the Radcliffe Camera arena, we were met by a gang of students who were celebrating graduation and those closest to us started clapping, cheering and whistling! This soon escalated and it was like being in a stadium which made my couple feel very special. It became the talking point at their reception dinner.” 07725 335 766 | https://pottersinstinctphotography.co.uk www.instagram.com/pottersinstinctphotography

EXPERT ADVICE

Our regional experts share their top tips

LET ME ENTERTAIN YOU

We want to wow our guests at our 1930s-themed wedding with some quirky entertainment – can you help? Meet the expert: Adam Denton is the owner and managing director of Silverbird Entertainment based in Oxfordshire providing tribute acts, live bands and DJ hire throughout the UK. Adam says: When working with clients planning their big-day entertainment, I like to get to know them and the type of wedding they are planning so I ask them a few questions to start. Why have they chosen their particular wedding theme? Do they want their guests to be dressed in the chosen style and how many guests are they expecting? The trend for micro weddings at the moment doesn’t mean that entertainment has to be on a small scale – we offer everything from solo singers to a full seven-piece band. It’s important not to forget about the music and entertainment during the ceremony and drinks reception as well as the wedding breakfast and evening event. A solo singer performing the Bridal Chorus in a 1950s theme or a vintage trio like The Candy Girls all dressed up can make a wonderful choice for during the ceremony. Silverbird Entertainment works closely with another company who decorate wedding venues based around the chosen theme. They will set-up a 1930s-themed wedding or a 1940s look complete with costumes to tie in with the style of music.

STYLE ME PRETTY

We need some venue styling and design ideas for our micro wedding this summer - can you help? Meet the expert: Elizabeth Wong is a wedding and event stylist and owner of Elizabeth Weddings offering bespoke venue styling, design and décor hire for celebrations across the South West. Elizabeth says: “If you’ve decided on a micro-wedding, you should still think about hiring a venue stylist who can help make the event extra-special, helping you perfect those all-important finishing touches and giving you peace of mind – you don’t have to sacrifice the styling or decoration and it’ll still be your dream day! For example, a statement backdrop for your aisle will provide an Insta-worthy opportunity for photographs. We offer bespoke styling and décor packages and I would be happy to accommodate these for smaller weddings to a budget if required. ICING ON THE CAKE

Meet the expert: Lorna Sansom is the cake designer, baker and sugar florist at Sweet Marguerite Cakes based in Aylesbury covering Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and beyond. Lorna says: I have always preferred two-tier cakes like these pictured, and it’s the smaller cakes that I love to make. It’s simple to reduce the tiers down a size and a two-tier design comprised of a 15cm (6-inch) and a 10cm (4-inch) layer would feed 15 guests perfectly. If you have set your heart on a three-tier cake then I would suggest adding a dummy bottom tier which is just for show. I prefer to use sugar flowers rather than fresh ones on a wedding cake because they can be made in the ideal shade and size, and will keep long past the wedding day. If you decide to have a party later on when restrictions have lifted, you can reuse the flowers. At a larger wedding, many guests won’t even notice the cake so the good news is that, with only 15 guests, they’ll all get to see it. Rather than positioning it in a corner somewhere, think about incorporating the cake into your tablescape and make it a real feature. Choose your stand carefully, one with a tall, slender stem decorated with climbing flowers or chiffon ribbon would look wonderful topped with a small cake. Above all, make sure that everything is colour-coordinated. Sweet Marguerite Cakes | www.sweetmargueritecakes.co.uk www.instagram.com/sweetmargueritecakes

We’re having a micro wedding in the summer but still want a fabulous cake! It will only need to feed 15 guests so what do you suggest?

EXPERT ADVICE

SUITED AND BOOTED

We are two grooms-to-be planning a same-sex ceremony next summer and would like to invest in tailor-made suits that aren’t the same but complement one another - can you give us some much-needed inspiration? Meet the expert: Graeme Healy is the company director and tailor at Healy & Son tailors and shirtmakers based in Crowthorne, Berkshire. They specialise in hand-finished garments made bespoke for clients.

SMALL AND CHIC

We’re searching for a historic venue that offers wedding packages for our micro wedding this summer - can you help? Meet the expert: Helen Taylor is the head of communications at Cumberland Lodge, a Grade II listed, former royal residence nestled in the heart of Windsor Great Park perfect for small weddings.

Graeme says: The most important thing is for you both to feel comfortable and confident - a gentleman always looks his most stylish when he’s not thinking about what he’s wearing. That effortless style is something we all strive for, especially on the biggest day of our lives! I suggest for you both to agree on an overall aesthetic and level of formality to adhere to so for example, pick dinner suits or the ever-popular English rural tweed look and once that has been decided, focus on the two of you as individuals. A properly tailored suit should be an extension of yourselves as well as a signature of the tailor. Find a reputable tailoring house whose cutting style you both like and trust them to take your traits into account - bespoke is all about flattering each client. Aim for timelessness, elegance and sharpness, and you can’t fail!.

Helen says: Enjoy this rare opportunity to take sole use of the house and grounds at Cumberland Lodge on a variety of dates with the added incentive that every booking helps to support the charity based at the lodge which promotes progress towards more peaceful, open and inclusive societies. The house is surrounded by expansive parkland leading directly to Windsor Castle and features elegant reception rooms and cosy, wood-panelled dining rooms steeped in history. Wedding guests can follow in the footsteps of movie stars such as Colin Firth (who stood on the sweeping red staircase that leads to the Tapestry Hall in The King’s Speech) and more recently, Benedict Cumberbatch and Claire Foy – not to mention a host of royal guests. The venue is renowned for its warm welcome and excellent standards of dining and hospitality. It’s a magical setting and offers Covid-secure weddings for up to 15 guests. For £135 per person, the boutique wedding package includes canapés on arrival, a delicious three-course wedding breakfast and an elegant evening reception with a light supper served in the spacious Drawing Room. Overnight accommodation is available in a choice of elegant en-suite bedrooms, each with sweeping views over the stunning parkland. A standard room costs £135 per night based on single occupancy, £150 based on double or twin occupancy and a deluxe room based on double occupancy is priced at £190. Rates include a complimentary menu consultation for the couple when a party of ten or more guests is booked.

“After using a tint for the first time I’m a convert! This colour was divine, and what I like is that you can layer it up and build the tone to your desired effect; soft subtle pink by day and a deep red by night. It lasted all day after drinking and eating, and even stayed on when I applied a balm over the top. A must-have for your make-up bag.” – Danielle Harvey

“Straight away, I loved the sturdy packaging and precise applicator. The lightweight formula has fantastic pigmentation and the product has a matte finish. There’s no cracking or bleeding because of the avocado oil, vitamin E, and hyaluronic filling spheres, which I’m very thankful for as there’s nothing I hate more than dry lips! The beautiful shade lasted hours on my lips and I got compliments all day when I wore it!” – Olivia Gibson

“The Lip Definer was easy to use, and I loved the way it looked. I put it on first thing, and by the time I went to bed it was still firmly in place, looking fabulous, even though I’d been in the rain most of the day. I had fun playing with the dual-ended pencil and brush creating a look that suited me and paired it with Unforgettable Lipstick in Legendary, but as it’s a natural shade it would work well with most colours.” – Melissa Barker

SHADE: UNDRESSED WITH LEGENDARY

“Historically, matte lipsticks have been my worst enemy – being a notorious lip-biter they show up all my flaws. But it’s safe to say that this product has changed my mindset. The finish, although definitely matte, is somehow silky and smooth. The best thing about this particular shade is that it’s bold enough to look like you’ve made an effort without being OTT – the perfect lazy-girl hack! It also has incredible staying power, but that does mean you need to be careful to apply correctly the first time as it doesn’t budge!” – Beth Morton

Q&A

Our experts answer your questions

Meet the expert: Nicolette Smith is the face of The Beauty Coach based in Buckinghamshire. She’s a qualified beautician and nail technician offering a variety of skincare and make-up services.

PICTURE-PERFECT We’re getting married this summer and I would love some ideas for my big-day make-up and skincare regime. Can you help?

Meet the expert: Paige Mary is a qualified make-up artist based in Berkshire specialising in natural make-up, enhancing clients’ features creating a flawless, fresh glow. She is also a talented wedding photographer. Paige Mary says: When getting married during any season, there are a few insider tips that I must let you know about! When it comes to achieving an Insta-worthy base, apply powder frequently, using a brush for application to sweep away any unwanted shine and oil. This is especially important on a hot summer’s day when it’s easy for skin to look shiny. For the perfect pout, it’s important to apply a lip liner as well as a lipstick which will help create fuller lips and keep your chosen products in place. Keep your make-up items to hand in a cute clutch bag for touch-ups. If you’re wondering where or how you’ll apply them with everything else going on, I offer a bespoke service that allows me to do this for brides. I also offer a wedding photography service (more about that on page 53), so I can happily check make-up between photos. To look, and feel, flawless for the entire day is so important because your wedding memories and photos last forever.

Nicolette says: Taking good care of your skin is especially important in the run-up to the summer months because it has had plenty to endure during winter. I recommend that my brides book in for a skincare consultation at least four to six months ahead of their wedding day when I can look at their skin type and its specific needs and we have plenty of time to get the care routine established. We all know that we need to cleanse, exfoliate, tone, moisturise and protect our skin daily, but sometimes that’s not enough and your skin may need supplement care. You can over-exfoliate or add skin oils which aren’t good for oily skin so a personalised consultation is key. Natural light and airy make-up for summer weddings is best, however, you can go bolder if that’s your usual style. If you want to create a sun-kissed look, but not have the risks associated with sunbathing, simply add a self-tanning cream to your daily routine, but don’t forget to tell your make-up artist so that they can adjust your foundation accordingly to create that flawless finish. A bohemian bridal look with a flawless matte base, blush cheeks and minimal eye make-up complete with eye-catching lip colour is a good choice. Sweep your hair into an up do that doesn’t look too finished to complete your look. Or, use earthy shades suited to your skin tone and to make your eyes pop, but keeping the look as muted as possible, apply a highlighter, blusher and natural lip gloss for a dewy sun-kissed feel. Don’t forget about the wonders of contouring defining a flawlessly matte base finished with a touch of sparkly lip gloss.

HEAD TO THE EAST

Wilderness Reserve has launched its second country estate, Chapel Barn, just in time for the staycation boom whether you want to head away pre- or post-vows. The Chapel Barn (once a 15th-century farmstead) has all the charm of its heritage intact and yet comes with a host of luxury facilities, including an indoor swimming pool, cinema, gym and spa set over 5,000 magnificent acres of carefully maintained Suffolk countryside.
