The Compton Room can also host your reception with 192 seated and 250 for the evening, but our absolute favourite of the intimate wedding spaces is The Gallery. Perfect for a maximum of 14 guests, it’s a charming space. Overlooking the impressive Great Hall, the Gallery Suite is known as the most historic space in the hotel and has hosted various musical performances including live radio broadcasts by the Palm Court Strings. Choosing this spot means you get to combine the privacy and intimacy of a smaller reception with the elegance and grandeur of the hotel as a whole. We’d also highly recommend the Mirabelle Restaurant, the hotel’s award-winning fine dining restaurant, available to book exclusively for weddings.

The Grand Hotel exudes five-star luxury and historical elegance throughout its 152 rooms and boasts a fabulous choice of celebration rooms. It has also welcomed many famous faces over the years including Winston Churchill, Charlie Chaplin, Arthur Conan Doyle and Claude Debussy, who completed Le Mer during a stay at the hotel in 1905. All of this rich history combined with stunning architecture makes stepping inside The Grand like entering a bygone era, where elegance, style and luxury take centre stage. There are a wide variety of excellent spaces available for ceremonies and celebrations, from the cosy and intimate to the grand and opulent. For the “I dos” for example, there’s The Compton Room, which can seat 330 theatre style, which boasts ornate plasterwork, vast ceilings and a sprung dance floor.
