PRESS RELEASE For immediate release

Surprising shows in surprising places… If you think that nothing happens in your local village hall except the occasional birthday party or exercise class take another look. This autumn, village halls and other community buildings across Warwickshire will come alive with some of the most innovative and exciting live entertainment from the UK and beyond. The Live & Local Community Touring Scheme works with voluntary groups from across Warwickshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire helping them to choose and promote professional live performance including music of all genres, theatre, storytelling, children’s shows and much more. These shows take place in the heart of local communities in venues such as village halls, churches and community centres. The Live & Local scheme is funded by local authorities and Arts Council England, enabling local people to enjoy great art on their doorstep. These performances offer a vital boost to community spirit, bringing people of all ages together to have fun and enjoy a memorable and uplifting night out. None of this would happen without hundreds of hardworking local volunteers who give up their time to host the events, sell the tickets and to make something special happen in their community! A Live & Local volunteer promoter from Fillongley in North Warwickshire said: “The shows altogether have brought in tranches of locals and have raised the profile of the village hall and its influence in the community. The shows have also attracted people from surrounding towns and villages, who go away impressed, maybe inspired, by our active friendly community.” The Live & Local autumn programme in Warwickshire includes a wide variety of shows to suit all ages and tastes, including: Angus and Ross will perform a cast of hilarious characters in spoof style Sherlock Holmes comedy, Holmes & Watson: The Farwell Tour.
